Closing assignment on Renaissance Literature

Chapter 1: The historic background of Renaissance literature.

In this chapter you describe 5 important events from the 1485 - 1660. You should not only tell
what happened and why, but also explain why it was/is important.

You should also describe a dominant philosophy from the period.

Chapter 2: Renaissance Art

In this chapter you describe art movements and their characteristics from the Renaissance. You
should include examples from 2 non-literary art forms (painting, sculpture, architecture, etc) for
each movement from the period. Use these examples to show how they include the traits you
have discussed.

Chapter 3: Book report.

Write a report on one Renaissance text:

art from your second chapter. Use quotes from the text in your answers
- Your opinion of the work. List all the aspects of the text you liked and disliked. Explain why you
liked / disliked it, using quotes to illustrate your explanation

Read a poem from the renaissance period and describe both the content and the form
