Technical Description of the Bladeless Fan The bladeless fan consists of 3 main parts: the pedestal, the tube and the dimmer switch control. The other parts are the handle, the adapter, the tilting base and the air vents (Refer to Diagram 1). The bladeless fan is made using acrylontride butadiene styrene, which is a tough thermoplastic used in making light, rigid and moulded products. This material has shock absorbing properties too, thus not only making it easy to be carried around the house, but also durable. The bladeless feature ensures that it is safe to be used around children and pets, and easy for cleaning as well. The Pedestal The pedestal consist on a brushless electric motor (Refer to Diagram 2), which takes in air from the small air vents located at the base of the pedestal. The electric motor pulls air into the device via rotating nine asymmetrically-aligned blades and an average of twenty liters of air can be pulled into the device per second. The Tube The tube, located above the pedestal, is a hollow tube, designed with an airfoil-shape to help channel the direction of the air (Refer to Diagram 2). Also, the unique shape and design of the tube helps to increase the volume of air flowing out of the fan by a minimum of 15 times the volume of the air being pulled into the device by the electric motor. The Dimmer Switch Control The circular dimmer switch control is located just right below the air vents. It enables the user to adjust the volume of air being pushed out of the fan based on his/her own preference, instead of being restricted to the traditional settings on conventional fans. The other parts, such as the handle and the tilting base, are designed to aid in convenience for the user.
