Propaganda Posters

during
World War 2
Propaganda posters were a BIG thing
during world war 2
During World War 2 Britain used propaganda posters to
influence people to do/understand many different things, for
example to grow their own food or save waste.

All of them were colorful and eye catching! If they did

not have these qualities they would not persuade
anything or anyone!
Like this one ➡
Lots of them were quite funny.

If you saw this what would you

think? Would you be
persuaded?
There are a few still used today!!

Did you know that Keep Calm and

Carry On was actually used during
World War 2 as a propaganda
poster?
Some were promoting recycling,
but not in the sense we know it
today.

There was a shortage of

everything! Recycled paper,
metal, tins were used to make
planes, tanks, ships, …
Many of them used children and
amilies as an example to influence
public to grow their own food.

In times when there was a severe

ood shortage, growing and canning
ood would make them happy!
Many of them were
asking to be careful when
talking to strangers or
even to significant
others! They warned
anyone could be a nazi
spy.

The phrase often used to

describe this was
‘Careless talk costs lives’
Quiz time!
What is the
missing word?
