Em síntese
• Some nouns in English are countable - we can count and use them in singular
and plural forms. Some other words are uncountable - they refer to abstract
ideas, materials, liquids, or things that cannot be counted. They only have one
form and cannot be used with an indefinite article A/AN or plural form.
• We often use A/AN with singular countable nouns and SOME with plurals. We
can also use SOME with uncountable nouns. There are other quantifiers we
can use with nouns, such as A LOT, PLENTY OF, etc.
• Some nouns can be both countable and uncountable nouns, usually with a
difference in meaning;
• We need to be careful with some nouns that might seem countable, but are
not, for example, INFORMATION, NEWS, ADVICE, etc. and follow the rules
accordingly.
