7-1

Power and Data Bus

3.1.7-2 Electronic Control System-1.3L 3.1.7-2

Circuit Description
Battery power is fed to the main relay pins 12 and 20 through fuse #18 and fuse #14 (in the main fuse
and relay box). The ECM provides ground to the main relay coil via ECM pin 32 and the main relay pin
11. This will energize the relay coil and close the relay contact. The power supply is fed to pins 8 and 51
of the ECM through main relay pin 29. Then battery power is fed to the ECM through fuse #14 via pin 16.
Turn the ignition switch to “ON” position, IG1 power is fed to the ECM through fuse #11 (in the I/P fuse
and relay box) via pin 17.
The ECM grounds through G104 via pin 5.
The ECM recieves the blower motor switch signal via pin 12.
The ECM provides fault signal to K-line for diagnosis via pin 15.
The ECM recieves the combination switch signal via pin 24.
The ECM grounds through G106 via pins 43 and 48.
The ECM recieves the A/C switch signal via 44.

HO2S
3.1.7-4 Electronic Control System-1.3L 3.1.7-4

Circuit Description
Battery power is fed to the main relay pins 11 and 20 through fuse #18 (in the main fuse and relay box).
The ECM provides ground to the main relay coil via ECM pin 32 and the main relay pin 11. This will
energize the relay coil and close the relay contact. The power supply is fed to fuse #7 and fuse #8 (in the
main fuse and relay box) through main relay pin 29. Then battery power is fed to the pre-catalytic oxygen
sensor heater through fuse #7 via pin 4, to post-catalytic oxygen sensor heater through fuse #8 via pin 3
respectively.
Pin 01 of the ECM connects to pin 2 of the post-catalytic oxygen sensor, to provide the heater control sig-
nal.
Pin 06 of the ECM connects to pin 3 of the pre-catalytic oxygen sensor, to provide the heater control sig-
nal.
Pin 13 of the ECM connects to pin 1 of the evaporator temperature sensor, to receive the sensor data.
Pin 29 of the ECM connects to pin 1 of the post-catalytic oxygen sensor, to receive the sensor data.
Pin 39 of the ECM connects to pin 2 of the pre-catalytic oxygen sensor, pin 2 of the post-catalytic oxygen
sensor and pin 2 of the evaporator temperature sensor, to provide ground control.
Pin 45 of the ECM connects to pin 1 of the pre-catalytic oxygen sensor, to receive the sensor data.
