Conditions of non-accredited private accommodation

1. NSFAS students are subject to the student residence and accommodation policies of the institution at which they are registered to study.
60% pass rate (academic progression)

2. Students are required to read and understand the institution policy with respect to accommodation allowances and especially note the terms and
conditions when electing to shift from one accommodation type to another during the academic term.
3. Students applying for non-accredited private accommodation allowance must provide the following documents:

I acknowledge and understand the following:

1. That an application for non-accredited private accommodation does not guarantee that the application for funding will be successful.
2. The lease agreement contract is between the student and the service provider / landlord.
3. The student is liable for the cost of private accommodation and not the University.
4. Financial Aid is only facilitating the payment process for NSFAS qualifying students
5. That if funding is granted for private accommodation allowance, payment in respect of rent will be processed once NSFAS has confirmed that the
NSFAS NBA is accepted, and payments have been made to CPUT.

 Important Notes

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology may institute legal action in cases where information has been falsely supplied or documents have been forged.

1. that information on this form is true and correct and should any information stated be incorrect, all financial assistance or monies already received
shall be repaid by me immediately.
2. that the Service Provider is not a family member/relative, and proof of all information reflected will be submitted, if required.
3. that I am liable for my private accommodation costs if not funded.
4. NSFAS has a maximum award for private accommodation allowance, and I understand that am liable for the shortfall if the cost exceeds the
maximum award.
5. understand and agree to all conditions including the conditions prescribed to the Service Provider.
6. NSFAS students are subject to the residence and accommodation policy of the University.
7. Please note that CPUT staff members who affiliated with private accommodation service providers should provide us with a declaration of interest
from Human Capital

CPUT Payment Process

Payment Process

1. FAO will inform successful students when the application is approved

2. FAO will request the invoice in order schedule for payment of rentals
3. Non-accredited private boarding is payable per semester provided that NSFAS has not changed the student’s funding decisions.

No Late applications will be considered!

Applications with outstanding supporting documents will not be considered!
Applicants with home address that is within 60km radius will not be considered!
All application forms should be handed in at the nearest Financial Aid Office!
