Dear Sir or Madam,

I am truly delighted to write this letter for applying to the Faculty of Law in University Indonesia
(UI). My name is Putri Rania Tifal and I am an enthusiastic student of SMA Islam Al-Azhar 1.
Since I was little, I always looked up at my father's achievements. He is known as a hard worker
who succeeded in building a company from scratch. This has made me believe that hard work
and persistence can make our dream become possible. Because of this, I was inspired to chase
my passion too, which is to explore Law by taking a degree in the Law Study Program. I have
always been fascinated with law which I see as an important aspect of our life. For me, human
beings are a social species that always try to survive and thrive. To survive and strive, this
society needs law to lead them towards social justice. This is one of the reasons why I am
curious and inspired to explore Law.
My curiosity in law became more vivid through my school experience where I used to get
out of my comfort zone. I participated in a big school annual event (Alpus Incredibles) as the
head of the Artist Department where I got the opportunity to learn and apply for a legal contract
through Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU). From this experience, I realized law can be
powerful to organize people and ensure peace. Besides, I joined the Student Council in the
Development of Interest and Talent division. I was once appointed to be a leader of a cultural
event (Alscape). In this event, I learned how to lead the members and manage the finance of
the event. I also joined the Class Representative Assembly (MPK) afterwards by becoming the
class president who monitors the progress of the Student Council.
In my view, UI is a perfect place for me to pursue my higher education. This university
ranked as the top university in Indonesia according to QS World University Ranking.
Furthermore, UI is able to generate competent alumni. One of UI’s best alumni, Maria Farida
Infrato, is an inspirational individual that I admire. I am amazed with how she successfully
became the first constitutional court in Indonesia. This is proven through UI could be the early
path that leads me to become a successful and contributional individual.
Therefore, I am very keen to be a part of this institution. If I get accepted, I will try to be
the best version of myself in academic education and reach my dreams to complete my studies
at Leiden University School of Law, The Netherlands. Since I enjoy joining organizations in my
high school, I wish to contribute by joining organizations such as Model United Nation (MUN)
and many other opportunities where I could develop myself more and give an impact to my
surroundings while carrying the good name of the UI.
