TAEPDD401 Work effectively in the VET sector
Assessment Task 3
Assessment Task 3
This task requires you to access and interpret the AQF, as it applies to you in your future
practice as a trainer/assessor.
I have made a career change into the training sector as I would like to help pass on some
of the knowledge and experience I have gained to help the next generation of people
coming through. During my training I had both good and bad experiences with different
trainers and I feel that having a trainer that is passionate and enthusiastic about the
content and the industry and who wants to see their students succeed is a huge asset to
the students and can be the difference in success and failure for some students,
particularly those who require a trainer that is willing to go the extra mile and make a bit
more of an effort to help someone who is struggling to understand the course material and
concepts rather than just letting them get left behind
Describe the kinds of students that you envisage training in your vocational subject.
I envisage training a wide range of students, from apprentices, mature age apprentices
and operators of various skill levels including the new novice operator who is just starting
out in their career to the older guys who have many years experience but have no formal
recognition of their skills. Due to the changing nature of the industry and the ever
increasing focus on WH&S I can foresee that these types of students will continue to be
seeking training to ensure that their skills are legitimised.
