The Green Gift: Symbolizes Sustainability and Greener Future

The 236,000 Trees -Tree-Planting Program is an excellent program initiated by
the Department of Education (DepEd)under DepEd memorandum no. 69 series
of 2023 in an effort to promote sustainability and environmental care. This
innovative initiative is a crucial step toward the Philippines' transformation to a
greener, more environmentally balanced future.
In an era when environmental issues have taken the center stage, developing in
children a sense of environmental responsibility is paramount. One engaging
and educational way to achieve this is through the gift of tree planting activities.
This initiative of Deped is the result of a fundamental belief that the negative
effects of deforestation and climate change demand immediate attention to our
ecosystem and concerted measures to mitigate them. DepEd's strategic decision
to launch this massive tree-planting, demonstrates a strong commitment to
address environmental issues, fostering ecological awareness in young minds,
advocating for sustainable practices, and providing a gift to future generations
who will benefit from this compassionate step toward a greener and healthier
nation.

environmental concepts, students will develop a strong sense of responsibility
towards the environment,"
Planting trees will "contribute to the beautification" of school grounds in

addition to educational benefits. Trees provide shade, improve air quality, and
create a calming atmosphere, enhancing the overall ambience of the school and
creating a more pleasant and conducive learning environment for students.
DepEd not only highlights the value of environmental protection but also
provides a practical educational experience that encourages a broader
understanding of nature's complex dynamics for children.

Furthermore, this project serves as a catalyst for collaboration and community
participation. Schools collaborate with non-governmental organizations, local
government bodies, and other stakeholders to encourage collective action in

order to fulfill its objective of planting 236,000 trees. The influence of this
inclusive approach extends beyond the school grounds by instilling a feeling of
shared responsibility for environmental sustainability.
Moreover, DepEd’s address to plant 236,000 trees shows a strong commitment

to create a generation of environmentally conscious citizens of the country. This
program's significance extends far beyond mere planting; it cultivates the seeds
of environmental care and cultivates a sustainable attitude that will yield fruit
and benefit the future generations.

not easy because rain is pouring, its cold but we are warmed by
