BITUIN, JUSTINE BRYLE BSCE-2G

Do you want to get instant rich? Ofcourse, you heard it right and become a Civil engineer. Dear
ladies and gentlemen, my today's presentation is about those people who do not get enough credit in our
world of today but who are very important - civil engineers.

They are the engineers and the construction crews who conceive and maintain the infrastructure
that we all use on a daily basis. The roads and bridges that transport us to work. The water treatment
facilities that provide us with safe drinking water. The grid of power that keeps the lights on. The
dwellings we live in.

Civil engineers are the pillars of our society as they unleash scientific and mathematical
principles to solve intricate problems and create the systems that sustain our communities. Without the
civil engineers our cities will collapse, our transport will be a standstill and our access to essential utilities
will be heavily restricted. Their contribution is crucial to ensure economic growth, improve public health
and eventually enhance our lifestyle. Though they frequently remain unappreciated, diligently working
their way to the background.

However, my colleagues, this is the moment that we need to highlight these invisible heroes. To
highlight the critical role played by civil engineering and the tremendous positive influence it exerts on
our everyday lives. This is because if you consider it carefully, civil engineers are the designers of our
present world. They are the dreamers who convert their dreams into reality, incorporating the abstract into
the physical world.

Therefore, standing ovation for the civil engineers as well! Lets applaud their efforts to change
the world for the better and give them our backing in the process.

Therefore, when considering the basis of the world we live in, civil engineering is the pillar that
upholds everything.

Thank you.
