Paul McCartney
Together with Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, he formed The
Beatles in 1960. The band quickly became a global phenomenon and is
widely regarded as one of the most influential of all time. McCartney
contributed numerous hits as a songwriter and lead and backing
vocalist, including “Hey Jude,” “Let It Be,” “Yesterday” and “Eleanor Rigby,”
among many others.
After the breakup of The Beatles in 1970, McCartney continued his solo
career, forming the band Wings with his wife Linda McCartney and
Denny Laine. Wings achieved several hits, including “Band on the Run”
and “Live and Let Die”.
Over the decades, Paul McCartney has proven himself to be not only a
talented musician, but also a cultural icon whose legacy will live on for
generations to come.
