Level 1 Practice Job Interview Questions

2. Why do you want this position?


 Nurse Practitioners often have a higher level of autonomy in their practice compared to
registered nurses. They can diagnose and treat illnesses, prescribe medications, and develop
treatment plans, which can provide a sense of professional independence and responsibility.

 NPs can specialize in various areas such as family practice, pediatrics, geriatrics, acute care, and
more. This allows individuals to choose a specialization that aligns with their interests and
passion for specific patient populations or medical conditions.

 The increasing demand for healthcare services, especially primary care, there is a growing need
for Nurse Practitioners. This can lead to better job prospects and opportunities for career
advancement.

 NPs typically hold advanced degrees (Master's or Doctorate) and undergo specialized training.
This level of education and training can lead to a more intellectually stimulating and challenging
work environment.

 NPs have the flexibility to work in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, private
practices, and community health centers. This flexibility allows for a diverse range of
professional experiences.

 Services provided by Fraser Health include primary health care, community home care, mental
health and addictions, acute medical, and surgical services. Fraser Health has 13 acute-care
hospitals including 3 regional hospitals and 9 community hospitals and an outpatient care and
surgery Centre.

 Fraser Health operates several hospitals and healthcare facilities within its region, providing
medical care, emergency services, and specialized treatments.

 Fraser Health is involved in various community health programs aimed at promoting wellness,
preventing illness, and addressing the unique health needs of the local population.

 In high school I took

-Physics 11 and 12, Anatomy and Physiology 12, Chemistry 11 and 12, Calculus 12, and Pre-Calculus.
 After completing my undergraduate studies in pre-medicine or nursing (BSN), I hope to pursue a
master's or doctorate in nursing to further my education, or I may choose to enroll in medical
school.

6. What would you consider to be your strengths? / Weaknesses?


Strengths

 I thrive in group settings and enjoy building relationships with patients and colleagues, fostering
a collaborative and supportive work environment.
 My deep passion for pursuing a career in the medical field drives my commitment to making a
meaningful impact and saving lives.
 Strong communication and interpersonal skills enable me to connect with patients and
collaborate seamlessly within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
 I am adaptable to evolving healthcare environments, embracing challenges and proactively
seeking opportunities for growth.

Weakness

 While I haven't had direct experience in healthcare through volunteer work, I am eager to apply
my academic knowledge and learn hands-on in a professional setting.
 Recognizing the demanding nature of healthcare, I acknowledge the importance of maintaining
a healthy work-life balance to prevent burnout. I am actively developing strategies such as time
management and self-care practices to manage stress effectively.

7. What’s an accomplishment that you feel most proud about?


 Getting accepted to university.
 Good grades in my senior year in high school

8. Can you work on holidays and weekends? What about evenings?


 I am available every day of the week except for Sundays. I prefer afternoon work hours and am
particularly available during the evenings. This schedule allows me to bring my best energy and
commitment to the role.

Level 2 Interview Questions:


1. How do you think other people would describe you?
-Often people tend to describe me as a bright person since I like to meet new people and build
relationships with others. Also, people tend to say that I bring a positive energy towards others
by being nice and by empathizing with others often makes them comfortable around me.

2. What are your biggest weaknesses?


-One of my biggest weaknesses is lack of confidence when it comes to making decisions. Often
time I tend to worry so much about the result that will happen before even deciding. This is my
weakness since I put myself behind whenever I start something.

3. What are your biggest strengths?


My biggest strength is that I’m highly disciplined in every task I do. This is my biggest strength
since even though I might not be talented in every aspect I never give up on the work I do and
always finish at the end and with consistency in my work habits I can improve in each aspect.

4. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?


In five years, I would see myself applying for jobs in the medical field after graduating from high
school or becoming a medical student in medical school.

5. Out of all the other candidates, why should we hire you?


You should hire me because of my unique combination of skills, experiences, and dedication to the
medical field. I bring a diverse cultural background, fluency in multiple languages, and a deep passion for
healthcare. My commitment to ongoing education and training, coupled with my strong communication

7. What is your biggest achievement?


One of my proudest achievements was being accepted to university, as it marked the beginning of my
journey toward a career in healthcare. Another significant accomplishment was achieving high grades in
my senior year of high school, demonstrating my dedication to academic excellence and my ability to
succeed in challenging environments.

8. Tell me about the last time a co-worker or customer got angry with you. What
happened?
In a previous role, a customer became frustrated with me due to a misunderstanding about a product. I
remained calm and empathetic, actively listening to their concerns and acknowledging their frustration.
I apologized for the confusion and took immediate steps to resolve the issue, offering alternative
solutions and ensuring they left satisfied. By demonstrating empathy and effective communication, I was
able to de-escalate the situation and maintain a positive relationship with the customer.

9. Why do you want to leave your current job?


I am seeking new opportunities for growth and development that align more closely with my long-term
career goals. While I have valued my time at my current job and the skills I've gained, I believe that
transitioning to a role in healthcare will allow me to make a more significant impact and pursue my
passion for helping others.

10.Tell me about the toughest decision you’ve had to make in the last 6months.
The toughest decision I've had to make recently was choosing between two extracurricular activities
that I was passionate about but didn't have enough time to fully commit to both. After carefully
weighing the pros and cons of each option and considering my long-term goals, I ultimately decided to
prioritize one activity over the other. It was a challenging decision, but it taught me the importance of
prioritization and time management.

11.What is your leadership style?


My leadership style is collaborative and adaptive. I value input from team members and encourage open
communication. I believe in fostering a supportive environment where everyone feels empowered to
contribute and grow.

12.Tell me about a time that you disagreed with a decision. What did you do?
In a past role, I disagreed with the team's approach to a project. Rather than staying silent, I respectfully
expressed my concerns, providing evidence to support my viewpoint. Through constructive dialogue, we
reached a compromise that led to a successful outcome.

13.What questions do you have for me/us?


I'm interested in learning about professional development opportunities within Fraser Health. How does
the organization support employees in advancing their careers? Additionally, how does Fraser Health
