II Session Outline:

Session At the end of the session, learners will able to:


Objectives: a. Understand the importance of gratitude in fostering positive intercultural
relations.
b. Engage in activities promoting empathy and appreciation for diverse
cultures.
c. Develop a sense of gratitude towards cultural diversity & differences

Key Concepts: Gratitude: Recognizing and appreciating the blessings, kindness and contributions
of others, including those from different cultural backgrounds.

Intercultural Understanding: Enhancing awareness and knowledge of different


cultures, traditions, and customs to foster mutual respect and cooperation.

Empathy: Understanding and sharing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of


individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Perspective: Putting oneself in the shoes of others to understand their viewpoints,


challenges and experiences.

III. Teaching Strategies

Introduction 5 min Cultural Quiz:
WARM-UP Present a brief quiz with questions about different cultural practices,
traditions, or holidays. Students answer individually and share their
responses.

Reflective 15 min Cultural Appreciation Journaling:


Thinking/Concept Students reflect on a time when they experience kindness or
Exploration learned something valuable from someone of a different culture.
Write this experience in journal/ESP notebook.

Valuing/ 15 min Gratitude Collage


Structured Students create a collage using images, symbols, and words
Values Activities representing different cultures and things they are grateful for.
Discuss in the group.

Reflection 10 min Reflection Circle


In a small group, students reflect on the activities and discussions,
sharing insights and experience related to gratitude and intercultural
understanding.
Feedback & 10 min. Students write appreciation cards to classmates, expressing
Reinforcement gratitude for something they learned or appreciated about their
cultural background during the sessions.
