    Yesterday morning at 7

    is used to convey two actions happened in the same time in the past
    at 8 p.m last night compared to Simple Past
    is used to express an act happened in a specific time in the past
    this time last year

    Susan was washing her clothes yesterday morning. (VS) She washed her clothes yesterday.
    Past Continuous + Past Simple Subj + was/were Verb-ing + Obj
    I was watching tv when you called me yesterday. Interrupted/overlapping
    Past Continuous Tense
    When my friends were doing the project, the light suddenly turned out.
    She wasn't doing anything at 7 pm last night.
    Subj + was/were not Verb-ing + Obj

    Past Continuous + Past Continuous (WH) Was/were + Subj + Verb-ing?
