COURSE: BFC43502 – OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH

TASK: GROUP ASSIGNMENT

I. Instruction:
• This assignment is to be carried out in a group. MAXIMUM of five (5) members.

II. Introduction:
As the project manager overseeing an upcoming construction project valued at RM30 million,
outline the OSH requirements essential for OSHA 1994 & FMA 1967 legislative compliance.
Additionally, devise site planning and layout arrangements to incorporate safety provisions,
ensuring the well-being of workers and other individuals on-site.
III. What you need to do:
• Every group need to illustrate one construction project and propose the details/
background of the project, together with the site layout drawing (plan view
drawing of the site).

• Prepare a comprehensive report, minimum of 5 and up to 10 pages (excluding

appendices). The proposed contents of the report are as follows:

1. Introduction – Details and project background.

2. Requirements for OSH site planning and management. Relate these
requirements to ‘OSHA 1994’ or ‘FMA 1967 or ‘BOWECS Regulation 1986
(see example below).

v. Report format
1. The report should be written in English.
2. The font used must be Times New Roman size 11 and using 1.5 spacing
3. The paper size is A4. The left and right margin must be 2.5cm, while the top and
bottom margin must be 3cm.
