NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY

National Science Day Celebration was organized on 28-02-2024 in the presence of Principal Dr.(Major)
D.Rajan, College Secretary Mr.V.P.Ramanathan, College Committee Member S.K.T.B Kamaraj and IQAC
Coordinator Dr.A.Pushparaj. Special Guest Dr.K.Mathumitha, Mathumitha Hospital, Vallioor offered
enlightening speech on “Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat” and made a discussion with our students.
Mercy School Principal Mrs.Andal and Mercy School Secretary Mr.Murugesan delivered the Chief Guest
address. In addition to that conducted a Quiz competition entitled “Science in Today” for Plus two Students of
Mercy Higher Secondary School, Vallioor. The Special Guest Dr.K.Mathumitha, Mathumitha Hospital, Vallioor,
distributed prizes who won the competitions. Manonmaniam Sundaranar University (2019-2022 Physics
Batch) Rank Holders, M.Sakthi ( 7th Rank in Major Physics ) and P.Thanga Priya ( 8th Rank in part II English )
were honored by the Special Guest. I.Amirtha, III B.Sc. Physics, received accolades from the Special Guest for
her participation in the 76th Republic Day Celebration held at New Delhi on 26-01-2024. Further B.Sc.,
Physics Students were conducted the Physics Exhibition at Physics Laboratory.

Wind Mill and RMS Tiles Mill Visit on 29-02-2024

Students of Physics Department (I,II and III Years) and Staff decided to visit World India
Wind Power Project at Pushpavanam. We received approval for our letter of
authorization and visitors list to visit the power project on 29-02-2024 .
Our journey started with five staff members and Forty one students from TDMNS College
and reached Pushpavanam at 10:45 a.m. The roundabout transport was taken care by
our College bus. The Project Engineer Mr.Sekar gave us a warm welcome and he
explained the overview of the Wind Mill power project before taking us on tour of the
Wind Mills.
In the afternoon we visited RMS Tiles Mill to understand , how a Tiles Mill operate. RMS
Managing Directors Mr.Sundar and Mrs.Sundar explained each facility and their
functionality to the students briefly on our way through. Pens and refreshments were
served to all the students and staff by the RMS Management. We were all brought to the
RMS Mahal at Panagudi for lunch. We reached back to our College at 3.30 pm.

The Department organised an educational trip to Kodaikannal with our students on 10-04-2024.

TIRUNELVELI DISTRICT SCIENCE CENTER

VISIT ON 14-03-2024
To

Department of Physics (Students and Staff) decided to visit the District Science
Center,Tirunelveli. We submitted a permission letter, visitors list and the same got approved for
the date 14-03-2024. Our journey started from TDMNS College and arrived at Tirunelveli on
11:15a.m. The roundabout transport was taken care (Rs.5000) by our College bus .We 6 staff and 43
students reached main gate of the TSC at 11:15 a.m. We were welcomed by the Director of TDSC,
Mr.Kumar who explained the overview of TDSC in the Main Hall and presented the 3D show on
Science invention in the 3D Hall. Subsequently, we were taken around TDSC and one of the TDSC
staff explained each model in the TDSC and their functionality.
After all the explanations and discussions the authorities took care and sent us on own way. We
reached back to our College at 3.30 pm.

NAAN MUTHALVAN - GOVERNMENT SCHOOL STUDENTS

VISIT ON 23-02-2024
The Government School Students visited our Physics Laboratory in compliance with the Tamil
Nadu Government Naan Muthalvan initiative on 23-02-2024. Our Students educated them on
various Physics instruments to the benefit of govt school students.
