7. General conditions of the Installation:-


The manned Sub-Station with S/S buildings having VCBs and Outdoor yard having Transformers & GoDs is
observed in good functional state. Regulation wise points observed as under with respect to the indoor and
outdoor installations shall be rectified on priorty:-

A record having the names of persons designated to operate and carry out the work on the electrical
apparatus is to be maintained. And that the designated persons shall possess a certificate of
competency or electrical work permit and the same shall be ensured by GE.

they have been suitably protected to guard against possibility of their

8. Important Points observed which require attention:-


(i) In complince with Regulation-5, It shall be ensured that an Electrical Safety Officer is designated for ensuring observance of safety
measures specified under these regulations.

(ii) In compliance with Regulations-7&8, It shall be ascertained by GE to ensure safety measures for Operation & Maintenance of plants
and distribution lines system and they are operated by persons who hold degree / diploma in electrical / mechanical engineering.
Record for the maps,plans&sections of the system shall be maintained and submitted to the SEI as and when required.

(iii) In compliance with Regulation-10, Provision shall be ensured and a copy of maps shall be submitted to the SEI and a copy retained duly
certified by an appropriate authority.
(iv) In compliance with Regulation-11,12&13, It shall be ensured that the printed copies of the maps showing area of supply are always
maintained updated at GE office, and one copy is placed on display at the installation.

(v) In compliance with Regulation-77, During earth connections, it shall be ensured that the earthing lead for every lightning arrestor is
taken as directly as possible from the lightning arrestor without touching any other metal parts to a separate vertical ground electrode
or junction of the earthing subject to the avoidance of bends wherever practicable.

(vi) Sufficient Fire buckets with dry sand and Fire Extinguishers are to be provided & to be placed at a easily approachable place without
any obstructions.
(vii) Clearly visible identification at the front & rear of the HT panel is to be done.
(viii) Loose BE and NE strips to be tightened. Earth strips of BE & NE shall be routed seperately neatly and secured with clamps.

(ix) Kirloskar 315 KVA Transformer :- Cable entry glands to be provided. Mircoscopic Oil leak is observed at welding in Tr tank. Tr main
body is to be earthed. Earth Strip at neutral Terminal is found rusted. These points shall be rectified.

(x) 300 KVA Transformer :- one of the body earth is provided with wire, it shall be replaced with strip earth. One of the NE strip is
touching Tr body, it shall be retified.
(xi) 100 KVA Tr :- Oil leak at Bushing shall be arrested. Over hang NE strip is to be clamped properly.
(xii) Indotech 315 KVA Transformer :- Oil leak at Bushing shall be arrested.
(xiii) LAs and Anticlimbing Devices shall be provided at all the Pole Structures. Stay assembly shall be grouted to earth in place of opposte
4Pole structure
(xiv) Regular cleaning of S/S Building housing VCBs shall be ensured. Stores kept in S/S bldg shall be shifted to suitable place.Regular
cleaning of the yard is to be ensured.

8. Important Points observed which require attention:-


(i) In complince with Regulation-5, It shall be ensured that an Electrical Safety Officer is designated for ensuring observance of safety
measures specified under these regulations.

(ii) In compliance with Regulations-7&8, It shall be ascertained by GE to ensure safety measures for Operation & Maintenance of plants
and distribution lines system and they are operated by persons who hold degree / diploma in electrical / mechanical engineering.
Record for the maps,plans&sections of the system shall be maintained and submitted to the SEI as and when required.

(iii) In compliance with Regulation-10, Provision shall be ensured and a copy of maps shall be submitted to the SEI and a copy retained duly
certified by an appropriate authority.
(iv) In compliance with Regulation-11,12&13, It shall be ensured that the printed copies of the maps showing area of supply are always
maintained updated at GE office, and one copy is placed on display at the installation.

(v) In compliance with Regulation-77, During earth connections, it shall be ensured that the earthing lead for every lightning arrestor is
taken as directly as possible from the lightning arrestor without touching any other metal parts to a separate vertical ground electrode
or junction of the earthing subject to the avoidance of bends wherever practicable.

(vi) Fire buckets with dry sand are to be provided & to be placed at a easily approachable place without any obstructions.

(vii) Clearly visible identification at the front & rear of the HT panel is to be done.
(viii) Loose BE and NE strips to be tightened. Earth strips of BE & NE shall be routed seperately neatly and secured with clamps. Not more
than 2 Earth strip shall be connected to Neutral terminal of Tr so as to avoid any NE strip touching body, if required grid of earth can
be made at ground level.

(ix) NE strips touching 250 KVA Tr body observed & it shall be rectified
(x) Earth Pit identification shall be provided.
(xi) 100 KVA Tr :- Oil leak at Bushing shall be arrested.
(xii) Regular grss cutting & cleaning of the yard is to be ensured.
(xiii) Immediate efforts shall be made to bring down very high earth resistances.

(xi) Las and Anti-Climbing Devices shall be provided on 2-Pole Structure. Sufficient no of Danger Notice Plates shall be provided.

(xii) Regular grass cutting & cleaning of the yard is to be ensured.
