Background:
In response to the recent magnitude 6.1 earthquake that occurred on December 2, 2023, at 10:37:04 in
the evening, the City Engineering Office, in collaboration with the Office of the City Disaster Risk
Reduction and Management (OCDRRM), conducted a Rapid Evaluation Safety Assessment. The objective
was to assess the structural integrity and safety of all government-owned facilities, including public
school buildings, within the city.
Scope of Inspection:
The inspection covered the following key areas:
1. Government-owned facilities
2. Public school buildings
3. Structural integrity assessment
4. Safety measures and recommendations
Inspection Findings:
The inspection team systematically assessed each facility for signs of structural damage and potential
safety hazards. The findings are summarized below:
