This study is conducted only to determine the effectiveness of Bay Laurel (Laurus
nobilis) leaves extract for strep throat by making an extract in three concentrations (50%,
75%, and 95%) from Bay Laurel (Laurus nobilis) leaves to determine the effectiveness of the
Bay Laurel (Laurus nobilis) leaves extract for strep throat and to compare its efficacy to the
commercial product.
1. Determine whether the effectiveness of the Bay Laurel extract is influenced by different extraction
methods.
2. Make use of this research study for it to be manufactured in large quantities to further distribute it to
other locations.
3. Examine whether there are other healthful properties of the Bay Laurel that can enhance people’s well-
being.
4. Determine the expiration of the Bay Laurel extract to ensure the safe usage of the extract.
5. Test if the Bay Laurel Extract can be used as a component that can heal wounds other than as an extract
for strep throat, due to its antimicrobial substances.
6. Adding other substances to Bay Laurel extract enhances its efficacy as a mouthwash.
7. Investigate whether the efficacy of each concentration is impacted by isolating the primary antibacterial
component from the Bay Laurel leaves extract and using only this component within the specified
concentration.
8. Conduct tests on bacteria other than Streptococcus pyogenes to determine what other microorganisms
the Bay Laurel mouthwash can eliminate.
9. Investigate whether using a solvent other than acetone for maceration affects the effectiveness of the
concentrations during extraction.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS PARTICULAR TITLE FOR YOUR RESEARCH?
We chose the title “The Effectiveness of Bay Laurel (Laurus nobilis) Leaves Extract
for Sore Throat” because we only want to focus on the effectiveness of bay laurel n different
concentrations and if there is a significant difference between the concentrations and the
commercial product.
