Activity: School Based leaflets distribution campaign about Pertusis

Accomplishments/Highlights:
On May 02, 2024, in the morning, a leaflet distribution campaign took place at Tinago
Elementary School, focusing on raising awareness about pertusis, commonly known as whooping
cough. This initiative aimed to educate parents and teachers about the disease, its symptoms, prevention
and the necessary steps to take if their child or students showed signs of pertusis. The leaflets provided
detailed information about the disease, including its causes, symptoms and how it spreads. By
highlighting the severity of Pertusis and its potential impact on children’s health parents and teachers
were encouraged to be vigilant and proactive in recognizing the signs of the disease.

Accomplishments/Highlights:
Following the successful leaflet distribution campaign at Tinago Elementary School, the next
step was to extend the awareness campaign to Matabao Elementary School. With the aim of educating
parents and teachers about petusis, the campaign at Matabao Elementary School was organized to
ensure that the information reached a wider audience and to prevent the spread of the disease within the
school community. The leaflets provided guidance on when and where to seek medical assistance,
ensuring that parents and teachers were well-informed about the necessary steps to take. Through the
collaborative efforts of healthcare professionals and school administrator the campaign at Matabao
Elementary School played a significant role in raising awareness and preventing the spread of pertusis
within the school community.
