Introduction

The information gathered for this paper is quantitative, as the data is measurable in numeric
values. This paper will mainly discuss the findings of recent COVID-19 cases in the Bicol Region
for the year 2024. The data presented is for the six provinces in the Bicol Region and the frequency
of COVID-19 cases for each area; Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate,
and Sorsogon. The data presented in this paper is directly sourced for the Department of Health
Bicol (DOH Bicol CDH). It is a government website that reguraly posts and shares updates
regarding wellness and being, and present COVID-19 cases.

Camarines Norte 5 6%
Camarines Sur 35 42%
Catanduanes 9 11%

Basic Findings

[1] The highest number of reported cases is in Camarines Sur, with 35 cases, comprising 42% of the
total reported cases.
[2] Albay follows with 23 reported cases, making up 27% of the total.
[3] Sorsogon has the third-highest number of reported cases, with 11 cases, accounting for 13% of
the total.
[4] Catanduanes has 9 reported cases, representing 11% of the total.
[5] Camarines Norte has 5 reported cases, constituting 6% of the total.
[6] Masbate has the lowest reported cases, with only 1 case, making up 1% of the total.
Major Finding

The major finding from the data is that Camarines Sur has the highest number of reported
cases among the provinces listed, indicating a significant prevalence of the reported disease in this
area.

Inference and Recommendation

Based on the findings, it is inferred that there may be differences in healthcare

infrastructure, testing availability, or population density contributing to the varying numbers of
reported cases across the provinces. To address this, efforts should focus on improving healthcare
access, testing capabilities, and public health awareness in areas with lower reported cases to ensure
early detection and effective management of the disease. Additionally, further research and analysis
are recommended to better understand the factors influencing the distribution of reported cases and
to implement targeted interventions accordingly.

Conclusions

[1] Overall, the data shows varying degrees of reported cases across the provinces, with Camarines
Sur having the highest number and Masbate the lowest. This suggests variations in the spread or
detection of the disease among different regions.
[2] This paper has taught me that in gathering data, meticulous attention to detail is crucial. Each
step, from identifying sources to recording procedures, demands precision and clarity to ensure the
reliability and relevance of the collected information.
