TYPE OF EVENT: Non-competitive, self-supported long-distance cycling event.

EVENT GOALS:
 To promote the challenge and reward of self-supported long-distance cycling.
 To foster a supportive community for cyclists of all levels who enjoy pushing their limits.
 To raise awareness that the Province of Negros Oriental is one of the Philippines best
biking destination and at the same time to raise awareness of bicycling as a clean and
efficient mode of transportation.

EVENT FORMAT:
 Non-Competitive: This is not a race. Participants are encouraged to ride at their own pace
and enjoy the journey.

 Self-Supported: There will be no official support provided along the route. Participants are
responsible for carrying all their own supplies, equipment, and tools.

 Unrestricted Pace: Riders can choose their preferred speed and riding style.

 Control Points: The route will have designated control points with cut-off times.
Participants must reach each control point before the cut-off time to continue.
Sikad 200 - Must finish within an elapsed time of 14 hours (riding time and all stops)
Sikad 100 - Must finish within an elapsed time of 7 hours (riding time and all stops)
Sikad 50 - Must finish within an elapsed time of 4 hours (riding time and all stops)

 Completion: All participants who finish the entire distance within the allotted time will be
recognized for their achievement.
Sikad 200 – Dumaguete to Bayawan (Turning / Checkpoint: Bayawan Plaza)
Sikad 100 – Dumaguete to Siaton (Turning / Checkpoint: Siaton Plaza)
Sikad 50 – Dumaguete to Zamboanguita (Turning / Checkpoint: Arbo Gas Station)

TARGET AUDIENCE:
1. Experienced cyclists who are comfortable with long-distance riding and self-sufficiency.
2. Cyclists looking for a personal challenge and a unique cycling experience.
3. Individuals who enjoy pushing their limits and exploring their capabilities.

GROUP RIDING:
 While this is not a team event, participants are encouraged to find riding companions
with a similar pace and riding style.

RIDE GUIDELINES:
1. Bikes must be perfectly roadworthy. Riders should wear a proper bike helmet during the
ride. These are the responsibility of the cyclist.

2. Rear lights are compulsory for all rides, while front lights are compulsory for rides with
distances 200km.

3. Reflective jacket and reflectors are recommended.

4. Participants must be in proper physical condition, not to endanger themselves or the


group.

5. NAC Sikad rides follow a specific route and riders must not cut, deviate from this route
(unless an alternative route is given by the organizers), or their ride will be invalidated.

6. The participant should have his/her checkpoint card with him/her always. He/she will
pick this up during the onsite registration and have it stamped at each control point. The
stamp is a proof of passage.

7. The checkpoint card should be dropped at the finish control point. Cyclist will sign the
checkpoint card as approval of time stamp. Missing stamp will lead to invalidation of the
checkpoint card.

8. The time stamp is the finish time to be recognized. Riders should make sure their
checkpoint card is stamped the moment they arrive at a control point.

9. We ride in an organized group, never more than two abreast. If a participant wants to
overtake, do so properly, quickly and with good judgment.

10. We respect the other road users and show good manners.

11. All riders are free to complete the ride within the stipulated time at their preferred speed
unless otherwise specified.

12. Respect the environment. Dispose of empty water bottles, wrappers, etc accordingly.
There will be trash bins available in the control points.

August 31, 2024 (Saturday) 2pm-6pm: Pre-Ride Check-In
September 1, 2024 (Sunday) 4am onwards: Release of Cyclists
September ,: Homologated results published in the website/Sikad Duamguete Page
