COACHING DEPOT ADI (BG)


INTRODUCTION

Coaching depot ADI (BG) is a major depot of western railway carrying out maintenance of 14 primary trains including long
distance mail express LHB trains, passanger trains and millennium trains. Lead of the services run by ADI based coaches in
one round trip is as high as 4190 KM. The coach holding of primarily based coaches of this depot is 326 (134 LHB+155
ICF+37 VVN) coaches. Other coaching vehicles consists of 2 inspection carriages, 3 coaches of SPART are also taken care
under preventive maintenance schedule at this depot.
• Stock items of this depot as per fixed imprest, which are supplied to the depot by DCOS-SBI under the control of COS/CCG,
Western Railway.
• Sanctioned cadre of the depot is 509 personal and 6 ministerial staff (C&W department).

• 36 nos terminating trains and 210 through passing trains are running to and from ADI, which are checked on incoming trip
and certified fit on outgoing trip after necessary repairs, schedules, sick line/pit line attention etc. The depot also caters to
seasonal extra traffic demands during summer/winter/seasonal holidays/special trains like pilgrim special, FTR special,
Military special etc.
• Coaching depot ADI (BG) is a repair and maintenances unit for broad gauge railway coaches under the administrative
control of western railway.

•Automatic Train Examination System (ATES) developed by KRCL has been installed on DN main line before rolling in
examination points at ADI station for monitoring the axle box temperature, wheel temperature and high speed videography to
support manual rolling in/out examination under control of this depot. Quick watering arrangement has been provided at ADI
platform to facilitate watering in coaches and monitored by this depot.
• The depot undertakes the following activities:
• Rolling in & out, STR of all through passing trains & terminating examination of platform return trains.
• Watering in all passing through and platform return trains.
• CTS work in all passing through passing and terminating trains (Between 06:00 hrs to 22:00 hrs).
• Periodical maintenance schedule (except POH) and repairs to all coaches based at or associated with coaching depot ADI
(BG).
