SUMMARY OF POTENTIAL SAVINGS

Fleet: DSV Immingham
Inspection: 06/10/2008

Potential Savings for Inspected In Fleet

Using retreads on designated wheel positions 1,060.00 GBP 34,378.38 GBP
Potential Breakdowns 56.25 GBP 1,824.32 GBP
Pressure Maintenance 553.67 GBP 17,956.90 GBP
Total 1,669.92 GBP 54,159.60 GBP

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
The Summary of Potential Savings indicates the areas that offer the best opportunities for savings on tyre maintenance.
The calculations of the potential savings are based on:
• an inspection of a representative sample of the fleet,
• price information supplied by the customer,
• fleet information supplied by the customer,
• industry standards.
This report gives an indication only of the level of savings that could be acquired within your fleet. It does not take into account any investment that needs to be made to
achieve these savings.

Explanations of Potential Savings

Using retreads on designated wheel positions
Using retreads on designated wheel positions will result in the lowest cost per kilometer.
These potential savings are calculated by comparing the cost per kilometer of the recommended (retread) tyre to
the mounted (new) tyre.
Potential Breakdowns
On the road breakdowns can represent a huge cost; not only in material and service, but also in down time. By
optimizing a preventative maintenance policy, you should be able to reduce the number of on en-route
breakdowns dramatically.
Pressure Maintenance
The performance of a tyre depends greatly on the maintenance of correct pressure. You might loose as much as
half of the normal performance when the pressure of a tyre is around 30% below recommended. On top of the
obvious service loss, the risk of belt seperations and liner problems increases dramatically in case of bad
pressure maintenance, resulting in more en route breakdowns and poor casing retreadability ratios. The best
solution to keep a healthy pressure managment is regular preventative maintenance.
