Applications of Computer Science in Agriculture
Computers are used for keeping records such as budget, information of farm equipment and
animal health forms.
ROBOTS
Robots can be taught to navigate through farmland and honest crops on their own.
Robots can also used for horticulture needs such as pruning, weeding, spraying pesticides and
controlling or monitoring the plants.
Robots have become vital because they investigate and researching hazardous and dangerous
environment.
Environmental Management
Farmers need good environmental condition to yield best results therefore computers play a
vital value in processing the land that farmers need to use.
They often use Geographic Information System (GIS) for developing ranking systems that
evaluate the land.
The systems provide information based on factors like: soil conditions; drainage and slope
conditions and soil pit nutrient.
Another technology used by farmers is the Global Positioning System (GPS) based technology that also
help to monitoring irrigation; field mapping; soil sampling and tractor guidance.
