n = 6000 / 1165 = 5.15 say 5
Reqd. Length of rebars = 54/5 = 10.8 say 12 lengths

2) Main Rebars (dia. 22 mm)

For bar no.1

Out-to-out Bar Dimension (LO)
LO = 2200 - cover = 2200 - 40 = 2160

Length of bar no.1 = LO + ∆ + L

= 2160 + 46 + 240 = 2446 mm

01+049Steel Works 01+049Page 40 01+049Estimating guide for civil works

Using 6 meter rebar.
n = 6000 / 2446 = 2.45 , use 2
N = 3, X=3/2 = 1.5 say 2 lengths

For bar no.2

Out-to-out Bar Dimension (LO)
LO = Y-cover, Y = 3800 - 1850+900 = 2850
LO = 2850 - 40 = 2810 N = 3

Length of bar no.1 = LO + ∆ + L

CONCRETE REINFORCEMENT ( Page 7/16)

Using 6 meter rebar n = 6000 / 3096 = 1.9 use 1
X = N / n = 3/1 = 3 lengths

X = 2200 mm
LO = Y + X - 115

= 4585 mm

Length of bar no.3

= Lo + ∆ + L
= 4585 + 46 + 240
= 4871 mm
Using 6 meter bar ,N = 3 Using 6 meter bar,
n = 6000 / 4871 = 1.23, use 1 n = 6000 / 4221 = 1.42, use 1

Lo = A + X - 115 = 3935 mm

Length of bar no.4 = Lo + ∆ + L

= 3935 + 240 = 4221 mm

For bar no.5 (Footing bad bars)

Out-to-out Bar Dimension (LO)
Lo = 1200 - 2 x cover
Lo = 1200 - 2 (75) = 1050 mm

Length of bar no.5 = Lo + 2 ( ∆ + L )

for 1800, dia. 20 rebar end hook ∆ + L = 253
LBAR = 1050 + 2 (253) = 1556 mm

Using 6 meter bar,

n = 6000 / 1556 = 3.85 , use 3
X = 14/3 = 4.66, say 5 lengths

3 ) Tie wir a) For column,

Number of typing Points (TP) = N1 x N2
No. of Vertical Bars (N1) = 6
No. of Ties (N2) = 54

Number of Typing Points = 6 x 54 = 324

Length of ties = 324 @ 0.30 m = 98 meters

b) For Footing Bed Bars,

TP = 7 + 7 =49
Length of Ties = 98 @ 0.30 m = 30 meters
No. of Kgs of Tie wire = (98 + 30 ) m @ 1kg per 53 m = 2.5 kilograms

ELECTRICAL WORKS

WIRES - electrical conductors which are,

a) Solid or its copper conductor consist only of one strand of wire. Size ranges from No. 8 AWG and smaller.
b) standard or its copper conductor consist of a number of small wires twisted together to make a larger, more flexible
wire. Size ranger from No.6 AWG or heavier

WIRE " TYPE

- Wire CODE"
types are typically coded by the type of insulation, temperature range, dampness rating, and type &
composition of the jacket
"T..." --- Very common, dry only, full current temperature must be less than 600C (1400F).
"F" --- Fixture wire. CF has cotton insulation (900C). AF has asbestos insulation (1500C). SF has Silicon insulation
(2000C)
" R..." --- Rubber (natural, neoprene, etc) covered.
"S..." --- Appliance cord, stranded conductors, cotton layer between wire and insulation, jute fillers, rubber outer
jacket. S is extra hard services, SJ lighter service, SV light service.
"SP..." --- Lamp cord, rubber insulation.
"SPT.."--- Lamp cord, plastic insulation.
"X..." --- Insulation is a cross linked synthetic polymer very tough and heat & moisture resistant.
" FEP..." --- Fluorinated ethylene propylene insulation. Rated over 900C (1940F)
"...B" --- Suffix indicating an outer braid is used, such as glass.
"...H"--- Suffix indicating higher loaded current temperature may be used, up to 900C (1670F)
"...HH " --- Suffix indicating much higher loaded current temperature may be used, up to 900C(1940F).
"...L " --- Suffix indicating a seamless lead jacket.
"... N" --- Suffix indicating the jacket is extruded Nylon or thermoplastic polyester and is very resistant to gas and oil
and is very tough.
"...O" --- Suffix indicating neoprene jacket.
"...W "--- Suffix indicating WET use type.

CABLES
Type T or Type R wires are often assembled into cable.Kind of Cable
know by such trade name as BX, Flexsteel, etc.
2. Nonmetallic sheathed cable.

a)Type NM-know by such trade names as Romex, Cresflex ,Loom wire ,etc. each wire is wrapped in a paper layer,
followed by another spiral layer of paper, enclosed in an over-all fabric braid, which is treated with moisture-resistant
and fire-resistant and fire compounds, or a plastic sheath. The spaces that would otherwise be empty are filled with
jute or similar cord. This type of cable may be used only indoors in permanently dry location.
b) Type NMC-specially designed foe wet locations.
3. Metal Clad Cable (MC)
4.Mineral Insulated Cable (MI)
5. Shielded Nonmetallic sheath Cable (SNM)
6. Services In trance Cable ( SE, USE)
7. Underground Feeder and Branch Circuit Cable ( UF)
8. Power and Control Tray Cable ( TC)
9. Flat Cable ( FC)s
10. Flat Conductor Cable ( FCC)
11. Medium Voltage Cable ( MV )

Raceways– wiring accessories or channels used for holding wires and cables which maybe metallic or nonmetallic.

Type of raceways
1. Conduit
2. Conduit fittings such as elbows, coupling, etc.
3. Conduit supports such as clamps, hangers, etc.
4. Cable trays and cable bus 5 connectors.

Electrical Outlet
any point in the wiring system that supplies an electrical load.

Kind of electrical outlet.

1. Conveniences outlet.
2. Lighting oulet
3. Receptacle outlet

A) Estimating Production on the Job.

Production = Load per cycle x no. of Cyles per hour.
Determination of Load per Cycle:
It can be determined accurrately by weighing one wheel at a
time using portable scales of adequate capacity & accuracy .
Gross
Vehicle weight (GVW) is the sum of the individual or axle
weights.
Weight of load = Gross Vehicle Weight - Empty Weight LOad
bank volume = Weight / Soil bank density.
Determination of Cycle per Hour:
This is done by time studies with the help of a
stop watch. First step is to analyze one complete trip or unit
cycle. Different segment of motion must be identified and
amount of time per segment be measured. By allowing the
watch to run continously, different segment such as load time,
wait time, delay time, etc.can be recorded for each cycle.
several complete cycles must be timed to arrived at an average
cycle time. Wait time is the time a unit must wait for another
unit so that the two can function together (for instance , a haul
unit waiting a pusher). Delay
time is any time, other than waiting when a machine is not
performing in the work cycle (for instance, scraper waiting to
cross railroad track). Production Cycle Analysis:
