2820580 - Shelf life expiration date (SLED/BBD) entered during goods movement

Symptom
For an existing batch, changing Date of Manufacture in MSC2N automatically update SLED/BBD field.
However, manually changing Date of Manufacture or SLED/BBD field in transactions like MIGO, VL32N does not update the
same to batch master.

Reproducing the Issue

1. In MSC2N, enter material, batch, plant, storage location and hit 'enter'.
2. Change Date of Manufacture, click 'Yes' in the pop-up to adopt the new SLED/BBD and save.
3. Check the batch in MSC3N, SLED/BBD is updated after MSC2N change.
4. In MIGO, change the Date of Manufacture for the same batch and click 'Post'.
5. Check the batch in MSC3N, SLED/BBD is not updated, data remains the same as before GR posting.

Cause
Behavior of SLED/BBD update from goods movement posting into batch master depends on the customizing of two
messages: 12005 and 12006 and in the Total Shelf Life maintained in the material master.
- If the Total Shelf Life is not maintained in the Material Master (MM03 - General Plant Data / Storage 1 view - the field
is empty) and in OMCQ the message 12005 is defined as 'W'(warning), the data entered manually in the goods movement
for SLED/BBD will be updated in the batch master data.
- If the Total shelf life in the Material Master is completed and messages 12005 and 12006 are both defined as 'W'(warning) in
OMCQ, the data entered manually in the goods movement for SLED/BBD will be ignored. The system will recalculate the
SLED in this case based on the Date of Manufacture plus the Total shelf life and this will be the new date updated in the batch
master record, independently of the one completed manually. This is stated in the long text of the message 12006:
"The system has calculated a shelf life expiration date (SLED) that is different to the SLED entered in the item.
System Response
According to the system settings, this is a warning or an error message.
If the message is a warning (W), the system allows the entry, but warns you in case the entry was unintentional. If you
confirm the message, the system copies the new SLED it just calculated to the item."
So in this case the new calculated SLED is used and not the one completed manually.

Resolution
Check your settings for the messages 12005 and 12006 in OMCQ and see if the Total Shelf Life is maintained in the Material
Master (MM03 - General Plant Data / Storage 1 view).
