Christian Johnson aggressively ran at Officer A. Johnson and Officer G. Miller in the parking lot of S. Dale St.
Christian was holding a hammer in one hand and an edged weapon in the other hand. Christian refused to follow
Officers' commands to drop the weapons as he ran at them and the Officers were forced to fire their duty weapons at

On the listed date and time I was finishing a trespassing call near Targee and Maple Grove and heard a
request for units code 3 by Officer A. Johnson. Seconds later I heard the report of shots fired on the
radio.
I drove code 3 to where the incident occurred. While en route I heard on the radio that
the suspect, later identified as Christian Johnson, was deceased. When I arrived there were multiple
Officers on scene and the area was in the process of being blocked and taped off for security. I began
looking for witnesses among the people standing in the area.
I spoke first with who stated both he and , witnessed

the incident. stated he is part of the construction crew working at the apartment complex. He said
that he heard yelling from the parking lot area and saw the parked Patrol car so he walked towards the
Leasing Office to see what was happening. He said he saw a man come down the stairs of one of the
apartments holding a machette and threatening to stab his heart. He said he saw the man began to run
towards the Officers with the machette and said he knew the man was about to get shot so he turned
away because he did not want to see that. He said after he turned away he heard about 5 shots.
told me he could hear the man yelling and banging something metal against the metal
dumpster that was in the parking lot. said that all of the sudden the man ran at the Officers and was
shot.
Officer Rock provided witness statement forms to and and collected them when they were
completed.
At Cpl Nicholls direction I searched the area ''down range'' to search for damaged property or potential
victims. I noted that the 40 yard roll off dumpster and a storage box were located on either side of the
parking lot that would have potentially funneled any stray bullets directly into a 20' high rock wall of La
Pointe Apartments. I was unable to identify any damage to the storage container or the dumpster roll off
box. I did locate one impact point on the rock wall and possibly two other points. I took pictures of the
area and marked it with a cone.
I then began knocking on apartment doors in the same building that Christian exited. I spoke to
who lives in ). stated that he heard the yelling so
he looked out his window. He said he saw the man holding something in both hands with his hands
raised. He said he wasn't sure what it was exactly but he thought it was something sharp. He stated the
man yelled something then charged at Officers with the objects in his hands. He then heard several shots
fired. I gave a witness statement form and requested he fill it out. I was collected later by ISP
Detectives who were assisting in the area canvas.
No one answered the door at . I spoke with the resident at

) who was gone at work at the time of the incident.

I contacted by phone who had called into Dispatch reporting that he had recorded the
incident on his cell phone. advised that he lives on the street and was driving through the parking
lot when he saw the Patrol car and the Officers outside the vehicle. He stopped in his vehicle and began
recording on his cell phone. He said something to the effect that he did this to make sure everything was
on the up and up. He said he saw the man charge at Officers with weapons in his hands and then
witnessed the shooting that took place. He told me that from his perspective it was justified and the
Officers had no choice but to shoot. I asked to attach his video to a link that was provided to him
by Lt Ransom and he said he would.
Once sufficient resources were on scene I cleared to handle other calls.

Narrative
On 08-03-23 at about 1054 hours, Boise Officers responded to a call for service. After they arrived
on scene, I heard officers come over the air and ask for a code 3 assist. I was not too far from the
area so I responded to assist. As I was responding I then heard officers put out information that
there were shots fired and the suspect was down. When I arrived on scene I met up with Lt.
Nielson. I then walked one member of the fire department (Capt. Yates F1-B) into the scene so
that he could do the death confirmation on the suspect. When we walked up to the body, Capt.
Yates was able to give a visible death confirmation. I then walked him out of the scene.
After Capt. Yates was walked back out, I put up the red tape for the inner perimeter of the crime
scene. I then responded to to assist with the CITF process. While en route I
contacted Det. Roath and confirmed that he had already started working with Garden City Police
to needed for the process. When I arrived on scene, I learned that they had

I assigned Ofc. Miller (involved) and Ofc. Gross (escort) . I assigned Ofc. Johnson
(involved) and Ofc. Maalouf (escort) . The CITF personnel was assigned
and we had for command staff or extra personnel. We didn't end up needing to use
at all. I monitored the hallway during the entire process. I filled out
towards the end of the process. Although I was monitoring and the times are very close, they
may not be the exact in and out times. has been turned in to Boise Police Records.

INITIAL RESPONSE/CONTACT:
As a member of the Critical Incident Task Force with the Boise Police Violent Crime's Unit, I responded
to on 08-03-23 at approximately 1200 hours for first contact with the involved officers
regarding a shooting at in Boise, ID. Once there, I met with Meridian and Garden City
Detectives. I assisted in contacting Boise Police Officer Garrett Miller along with Meridian Detective
Rhodes and Garden City Detective Thorndyke. I observed as Ofc Miller was photographed and his duty
belt collected in order to conduct a round count of his duty issued weapon. Det's Thorndyke and Rhodes
conducted the round count out of my view.

On 08/03/2023 I was dispatched Code 3 lights and sirens to assist on an officer involved shooting at
. I arrived on scene and began securing the perimeter with crime scene tape at Island and
Dale St. I parked my marked patrol vehicle outside of the yellow perimeter tape at Island and Dale to
block traffic. I was asked to keep all media personnel on the south-east corner of Island and Dale St until
a later time for a press conference.
While I was standing at the outer perimeter Corporal A. Johnson and Officer Maalouf left the inner
perimeter in a marked police car. Shortly followed by Officer Gross and Officer G. Miller in a marked
police car at approximately 1134 hours. Officer Moore and Officer Rock entered the inner perimeter
during this time. Captain Quackenbush entered the inner perimeter at 1204 hours and left at 1208 hours.
At 1220 Meridian Police Officer Kaley Gossage and Sgt M. Parsons entered the inner perimeter. At 1319
hours Corporal Fratusco left the inner perimeter. At 1319 hours I was also relieved from my perimeter
spot and left the scene.

On 8-3-23 I responded to assist officers with a Code 3 request at Upon my arrival shots
had already been fired and several other officers were on scene. I immediately blocked access into the
apartment complex via the north parking lot entrance and placed crime scene tape across the driveway.
I saw several males in the west parking lot, north of the OIS and approached them for witness
statements.
WITNESS INTERVIEW:
lives at and was descending the external stairway from apartment
when he heard 3-5 shots fired south of his apartment. could not see the incident and could not
provide any additional relevant information.
I then spoke with who lives at . stated that he was

outside of his apartment on the stairway when he hear 5-6 shots fired. could not see the parking
lot where the OIS occurred and crime scene tape had been put up before he could walk south towards
the sounds he heard. Nothing else was heard or observed.
I was then asked to speak with , who

is a Colombian national and is Spanish-speaking only. stated that he was walking from
towards the management office, dragging his tool box on rollers. saw two police officers in
the parking lot speaking with a male, whom he did not recognize. Because it did not involve him,
chose to walk around the officers on the north side of the same parking lot, approx. 10 yards from the
suspect. Officers began raising their voices, yelling something at the suspect which he could not

interpret as he does not speak English. The suspect raised his arms up and saw something in
the suspect's hand, but could not identify. The Officers's raised voices lasted 3-5 seconds prior to
approx. 4 shots being fired. stated that he fled his home country because of the violence and
intentionally did not want to see the suspect when the shots were fired but saw the male fall in the
parking lot. He said that he was blood on the front of his body and began walking as fast as he could,
pulling his tool box into the office. stated that his photo ID was in his vehicle, which was parked
in the crime scene and not accessible. He on site and is available to
speak if any additional information is needed.

Narrative
INITIAL RESPONSE/CONTACT: On 08/03/2023 at around 1122hrs while working as a uniformed officer
with the behavioral health response team, I responded code 3 (lights and sirens) to the report of shots
fired by an officer during a welfare check. I arrived on scene at the intersection of Island and Dale St. at
approximately 1125hrs. After securing the intersection there, I moved into the apartment complex and
starting taping off an outer perimeter just west of the inner perimeter. I cleared multiple bystanders and
residents from this area west of the inner perimeter and I established a outer perimeter.
One male was filming the deceased and at first refused to leave the area, citing his first amendment
rights. I later identified this male was . later told me that he heard the shooting
and came running to help. confirmed he did not witness the shooting and only heard the shots.
said he brought a blanket to cover the body and sought to help the officers on scene.
also said he called dispatch. Dispatch logged a call from cell phone number at 1124hrs.
informed me that he stopped about five feet from the body of the deceased and did not touch
the body nor render aid. There were a pair of sandals to the south of the scene on the sidewalk that
stated were his and flew off his feet as he ran over to help. I advised not to post any
videos or pictures online as we are still investigating this case and have not performed next of kin
notifications. I also advised him that a detective would likely be speaking with him since he entered the
scene soon after the shots were fired.
I later learned from ISP and MSP detectives that they later had spoke with as they were
canvassing the apartment complex and speaking with residents.
I stayed to the west of the inner perimeter securing the scene until I was relieved and left at
approximately 1342hrs.
This concludes my involvement in this matter.

Narrative
On 8/3/2023 I was working uniformed bike patrol with AFC Chally when we were at the downtown police
substation and heard units ask for multiple assists code three to an apartment complex on Dale Street for
a male with a knife. AFC Chally and I got into one of our patrol vehicle and began running code three to
the scene as requested. While en-route, the officers came back over the radio advising that there was
shots fired. We arrived a short time later and I began to help securing the scene as there were multiple
construction workers gathered nearby and people coming out of their apartments. I began putting up
crime scene tape with AFC Chally until we had the area taped off.
Officer Nichols asked if I could start a crime scene log and I began to start one when Lieutenant Ransom
told me I was going to be Officer Johnson's escort officer. I passed the crime scene log to Officer
Croswell, who was now going to be in charge of it, and checked on Officer Johnson before transporting
him .
I stayed with Officer Johnson during the investigation and transported him back to the station at its
conclusion.

involved shooting at I arrived on scene at approximately 1134 hours. I parked my marked

him as a middle aged white man about 5'10" - 6'. He was carrying a weapon, like a knife or machete.
The man walked towards the dumpster, and view was obscured briefly. saw the man run
towards the officers. The officers opened fire on the man and heard a lot of gunfire.

Two videos uploaded to evidence.com.
On 8-3-23 at approximately 1121 hrs, I heard on the police radio officers asking for a code 3 assist. I was
at my office nearby and began to respond, and shortly thereafter heard a call of shots fired. I arrived on
scene a short time later and was the initial responding officer to assist Cpl. A. Johnson and Ofc. G. Miller.
Upon arrival I observed a male adult laying in the supine position near parking stall I noted his feet
were facing north, his head to the south and I observed what I believed to be multiple gun shot wounds to
his torso. The male adult was not wearing a shirt, but had pants and gloves on. I observed a large knife,
a hammer and a metal spike a few feet to the west and to the north of the subject.
I immediately checked on the welfare of the officers and began supervisor duties related to the CITF. I
instructed both officers to turn off their cameras and I conducted a safety brief with them.
Cpl. S. Nichols had arrived on scene and I asked him to help with the inner and outer perimeter and
coordinate securing the crime scene. While on scene, I learned of two individuals who may have video
evidence of the incident. Ofc Bromgard informed me of and Ofc Pieczonka informed
me of . I utilized Axon Capture to send a community request to their contact information and
they submitted video evidence that was uploaded to evidence.com. I shared the video evidence with Det.
Washburn of Meridian PD.
I stayed on scene for the duration of the investigation until the subject was removed by the Ada County
Coroners Office.
Meridian PD Sgt. Parsons remained on scene to ensure the biological hazard cleanup was conducted
before the scene was completely released.

Narrative
On 8/3/23 at 1121hrs I heard Cpl Johnson ask for a Code 3 (emergency lights and sirens) assist to
a welfare check call at . I volunteered to respond. Cpl Johnson advised over the
radio that they had a subject at gunpoint and he was holding a knife. I also learned that Officer G. Miller
was also on scene. In less 15 seconds Cpl Johnson advised over the radio that shots had been fired.
Medical personnel were dispatched. Officers on scene advised that they were okay and that scene was
safe for medics.
Lt. Ransom advised that he was on scene just prior to my arrival. The location of the incident
occurred in a large apartment complex that runs the entire West side of Dale St. from Sherwood St to the
South, and Royal Blvd to the North. The apartment complex has three entrances, South center, and
North. When I arrived on scene I found the incident had taken place in the center parking lot. Lt.
Ransom was speaking with Cpl. Johnson and Officer Miller. He advised me that the male had been shot,
was beyond help, and obviously deceased and asked that I cancel medics. I was tasked with securing
the scene. Lt. Nielson advised over the radio that he would assign responding perimeter units to assist
with controlling access to the crime scene.
I began running yellow crime scene tape around the area to secure the scene and preserve
evidence. I took control of the outer perimeter, and Lt. Ransom advised that he would take charge of the
inner perimeter. I too observed the deceased white male adult laying in the parking lot. Near the male
was a claw hammer, an approximate 14" metal spike and a large K-bar style knife. Officer Chally and
Maalouf arrived and assisted with setting up an interior perimeter with red crime scene tape. I tasked
Officer Maalouf with starting a crime scene log and we set up the entry/exit point at the center driveway
entrance to the apartment complex nearest the intersection of Island/Dale. I noted multiple pedestrians
in the apartment complex. I began asking if anyone had seen the incident and only one lady volunteered
that she had scene the incident in it's entirety. There was a large group of Hispanic construction workers
who, in broken English, stated that they only heard some of the incident. They were later spoken to by
Cpl Rock (Spanish interpreter) to confirm that they had not seen anything. Several other pedestrians
also stated that they only heard the incident (gunshots) and did not physically see it.
Officer Pieczonka arrived on scene and I directed him to gather a brief statements and the
information of the eyewitness from . I was given a short briefing of what occurred and
the direction shots were fired. I directed Officer Bromgard and Officer Moore to walk the direction of
where the shots were fired to see if they could find where the rounds ended.
While on scene, we realized that no one had checked and/or secured the suspect's apartment. I
observed the door opened to apartment and asked Officer Chally to assist me with a security
sweep of the apartment to make sure no one was inside that needed medical attention. When I entered
the door way I saw a large black knife sheath on the counter that appeared to be for the knife in the
parking lot, based on its size and shape. No one was located inside. We exited, left the door open, and
put up some crime scene tape.
Officer Bromgard reported that he had found two potential bullet holes in the apartment building on
the East of Dale St. (across the street), and I asked him to place cones to mark the area. Officer
Bromgard also stated that he found two eyewitnesses on Dale St. I then asked Officer Bromgard to start
making contact with apartments in the same building as where the suspect lived, as well as the building

next to it, that had a direct line of site to the parking lot where the incident took place. Officer Bromgard
located another eye witness that watched the incident through the apartment window.
Members of the Critical Incident Task Force (CITF), headed by Meridian Police Department, along
with Ada County Sheriff and Idaho State Police began arriving on scene. I updated them to the potential
eye witness locations and what areas needed to be canvassed.
I maintained the point of contact for the exterior perimeter until the CITF investigators advised we

I responded to S Dale to relieve Boise Patrol Officers at the scene of an officer involved shooting.
When I arrived on scene I was instructed to relieve Cpl. Croswell with maintaining the crime scene log
and controlling the outer perimeter. I relieved Cpl. Croswell at 1322 hours and maintained the crime
scene log until the scene was cleared for the biological clean up company at 1628 hours.
There were several officers/detectives who were not logged out prior to my assuming control of the crime
scene log. There were additional detectives who were not logged out during my time maintaining the log
because the left the scene through other access points and did not advise me they were clearing the
scene. When I cleared all officers and detectives had cleared the scene. All crime scene tape had been
removed and properly disposed of by officers on scene.
I did not interview any persons or conduct any investigation while on scene. Only authorized persons
were allowed into the crime scene and their names noted in the crime scene log.

knife. A.Johnson than reported shots fired and requested for officers to respond code 3 (lights and
sirens). I responded lights and sirens to the area of .
I was tasked with blocking traffic at the intersection of Sherwood/Dale St. During my assignment, I was
approached by who was driving a gray Mazda 3. lives at .
said after finishing up at the gym, he was contacted by his wife who told him someone had been
shot in front of their apartment complex. said by cell phone he was able to review video footage
from his NEST video surveillance and was able to verify that his NEST did captured the incident.
I notified Officer Nichols, Officer Nichols requested for to meet with Officer Pieczonka who was

I was released of my traffic control assignment by Officer Anderson at the Sherwood/Dale intersection.

On 8/3/2023, at approximately 1121 hours, BPD K9 Officer Rush #958 and I responded Code-3 to assist
Officers on a welfare check at .
OFFICER'S STATEMENT:
I heard the Officers on scene request for Code-3 assistance. Then it was aired that they had one at
gunpoint because the subject had a knife. Then an Officer Involved Shooting was aired.
We responded to the scene and blocked vehicle and pedestrian traffic at S Dale Street and W Royal
Boulevard. I walked towards the inner perimeter to speak with Lieutenant Nielsen about further tasks. I
was contacted by Lieutenant Ransom to be an escort officer for Officer Miller #1033 that was involved in
the initial call.
I drove Officer Miller to . We were assigned and we checked in with

Sergeant Martinez. I remained with Officer Miller at his request inside . Details of the incident
were not discussed. I remained outside of while he spoke with his attorney.
Once all of the CITF investigation was completed, I transported Officer Miller back to the scene to
retrieve his personal belongings such as his water bottle, personal vehicle keys, and lunch pail. I
transported Officer Miller back to MSP so he could secure for the day.

INITIAL RESPONSE/CONTACT: On the above date and time, I heard over the police radio Officers
Johnson and Miller request units, EMS and supervisors Code 3 (lights and sirens) to their location in
regards to an officer involved shooting that just occurred.
I arrived on scene and immediately started placing yellow crime scene up around the outer perimeter with
Cpl S. Nicholls and Officer Maalouf. Once that was completed, I then assisted Sgt. J. Martinez with
placing red inner perimeter tape up and around the scene.
I then up request, cleared the suspects apartment with Cpl Nicholls to ensure that we did not have any
additional victims in the residence.
I exited the residence and began to help Cpl Croswell with the crime scene log. She was stationed on the
SE corner of the apartment complex near where the incident occurred.
I was then tasked to go with Officer S. Moore to the LaPointe Apartments and try to locate any witnesses
who were in the gym as the window is in the gym overlook a direct view of the scene. We were unable to
locate any witnesses but left contact phone numbers for the management to provide to any residents.
We also reviewed security footage which, with the angle of the camera, would have captured the
incident, however, the camera is only motion sensor activated and the incident was too far away to make
the camera switch on. We requested any and all footage to be recorded and turned over to police just in
case anything was captured, however, in reviewing the footage, it does not appear anything was
activated.
I then went back to Cpl Croswell and continued to assist her with the crime log, as most of CITF had now
arrived on scene.
I was then relieved of my duties and cleared the scene.
At approximately 1430 hours, I was contacted by Lt Ransom and advised that Cpl Johnson's vehicle,
which was in the inner perimeter, was now ready to be driven back to the bike sub station. I arrived and
removed the vehicle. Lt Ransom had moved the vehicle out of the inner perimeter and parked it near the
outer perimeter tape. I checked in with Cpl Nicholls on the North end of the complex, where he notated
my arrival and departure from the outer perimeter to retrieve the vehicle. Once Cpl Nicholls stated that he
was complete, I then drove the police vehicle back to the sub station.

INITIAL RESPONSE/CONTACT: On 8/3/23 at about 1100 hrs I was at the scene of a fatal crash when I
was advised that BPD patrol officers had been involved in a shooting on Dale street. I concluded some
supervisory duties at the crash scene and then proceeded to Dale and Island for investigation per CITF
protocols.
Upon arrival I checked in, and was signed into the crime scene by Corporal Croswell. I then contacted
Lt. Ransom. Lt. Ransom had been among the first arriving assist officers, and as a supervisor,
conducted the safety debrief of the officers.
Lt. Ransom advised that Officer A. Johnson and Officer G. Miller responded to 1100 block of Dale street
for a welfare check on a subject that identified himself as Christian. I could see the deceased body of a
male lying in the parking lot next to two parked cars. Lt. Ransom advised that Miller and Johnson had
bee standing in between the parked cars. They were facing to the east, the suspect, believed to be
Christian, was east of them and charged west towards them. He ran at them holding a knife, a hammer,
and a long pry bar. Each officer reported firing 4-5 rounds after Christian was within 6-8 feet of them.
I took some photos of the body, weapons, and general layout of the crime scene. I texted those photo's
to Captain Jones at the CITF command post, and also later shared with command personnel at the
command post while briefing them of what our scene looked like, and what had happened. (See attached
photos).
While on scene the following assignments were given to BPD detectives:
⦁ Det. Joseph was assigned as BPD crime scene rep.

⦁ Det. Roath and Krueger were assigned to first contact.
⦁ Det. Jagosh and Wirshing responded to the scene and assisted in initial scene security / management.
Jagosh then was assigned to assist with First contact duties. After initial crime scene control, Wirshing
was released from the scene.
At this point I responded to the CITF command post at MPD. The remainder of my duties were
administrative/supervisory in nature.
The following date I attended an investigatory briefing on the progress of the investigation. At that
meeting, interviews with involved officers were tentatively scheduled. Det. Krueger and Det. Wirshing
were assigned as the BPD detectives to assist.

On 08/03/2023 at approximately 11:15 am, Detective Sergeant Kendall asked that I respond to
, to assist with an officer involved shooting that had just occurred. When I arrived I found
crime scene tape had been set up and officers were keeping a crime scene log. Lt. Ransom was
managing the scene, and the involved officers had left the area.
I saw a shirtless male lying near parking stall , face up with a significant amount of blood on
his person and on the ground beneath him. The male had been tentatively identified as Christian
Johnson. He was wearing athletic style shoes, khaki pants, gardening style gloves, and no shirt. On the
ground near him was a large metal spike, a hammer and a large knife. The man's head was pointed
south, with his legs orientated to the north.
While on scene, I saw an open door in apartment . I learned this was the address Johnson
had reported to dispatch as belonging to him. Cpl. Nicholls and Cpl. Chally, and I cleared the apartment
to ensure no one else was inside. While inside, I saw several items that indicated the apartment
belonged to Christian Johnson and possibly . I also located a business card
belonging to Idaho Department of Corrections Derek Austin. I photographed these items, so investigators
could use the information to confirm the identity of the deceased. I also took a photograph of the
deceased's face, to show officers who were on scene, to try and help confirm the identity.
Detective B. Joseph arrived and took over crime scene responsibilities for Boise Police, as it
relates to the Critical Incident Task Force. I left the scene when Meridian Police Detectives arrived and
took over the investigation.

I (Detective Krueger) am a member of the Critical Incident Task Force with the Boise Police Department's
Violent Crime's Unit. I responded to on 08-03-23 at approximately 1200 hours with
Detective Roath. Our assignment was first contact with the involved officers regarding a shooting at
in Boise, ID. Once there, we met with Detectives from Meridian PD and Garden City PD.
At approximately 1326 hours, I assisted in contacting Boise Police Officer Andy Johnson along with
Meridian PD Detectives Caygle and Wear. I observed as Officer Johnson was photographed and his
duty belt was collected in order to conduct a round count of his duty issued weapon and spare
magazines. Officer Johnson's OBV camera (#610) was collected and given to Detective Jagosh for
transport to the Boise PD Station where the camera could be docked and the contents uploaded.
Detectives Caygle and Wear conducted the round count in my view.

INITIAL RESPONSE/CONTACT: On 08-08-2023, at approximately 1300 hours, I (Detective Krueger)
was assigned by Detective Sgt. Kendall to attend the CITF interview of Officer Andy Johnson #610.
The interview was held at (attorney) Joseph Mallet's office located at 1925 N Locust Grove Rd, Meridian,
Idaho.
Meridian PD Detective S. Hansen was the lead interviewer and I was there to assist. Present for the
interview were myself, Detective Hanson, Officer Johnson, and Joseph Mallet.
The interview began at approximately 1306 hours, and was audio recorded.
Near the end of the interview, Detective Hansen asked me if there was anything that I would like to ask of
Officer Johnson. I asked Officer Johnson if he could elaborate on what he meant when he said the
subject came down from the stairs and "silhouetted" himself. Officer Johnson clarified and said Christian
was positioned to the east and they were positioned to the west, Christian turned facing north. Officer
Johnson said Christian was facing them then turned to his right so Christian's left shoulder was facing
towards Officers Johnson and Miller. This view also gave Officer Johnson perspective as to the size of
the knife that Christian was holding against his gut.
Officer Johnson's attorney asked some additional clarifying questions. Once those questions were
finished the interview was concluded.

On 08/03/23 at approximately 1123 hours whilst working as a uniformed officer I responded code
3 (lights and sirens) to the report of shots fired by an officer during a welfare check call for
service. I arrived on scene at the intersection of Dale and Island St. at approximately 1126 hours. I
secured the intersection with Ofc. Presnell upon arrival. I then moved into the apartment complex
and assisted with taping off the outer perimeter just west of the inner perimeter with Ofc.
Presnell. I was then tasked, by Ofc. Nicholls, with doing an initial interview of one of the
witnesses that was standing by. The following is a summary of her statements.
I located on the west side of the outer perimeter tape who was visibly shaken by
the incident. I introduced myself and informed her that I would need to ask some questions as to
what she saw this date. stated that she would try and help in any way. She began by
stating she was unloading water from the trunk of her vehicle into her apartment when she
observed Christian Johnson from across the parking lot. She said that he was yelling a lot but did
not engage with him and continued to unload the water from her vehicle. She admitted that she
temporarily parked in the handicapped stall to unload her water but was planning on moving it
back to her assigned parking stall later. She said that approximately 15 minutes prior to my arrival
she observed two Boise police officers make contact with Johnson.
said that both of these Boise police officers were attempting to calm down Johnson
who seemed to her to be "hyped up on something." She said that Johnson was holding
something in each of his hands but she could not tell exactly what they were. She described one
of these items to be a large knife "like a machete." She said that when the officers made contact
Johnson had both of his arms down and was conversing with the officers on scene. She
observed both officers lower their retentions on their firearm holsters but they did not pull out
their "pistols yet." She heard one of the officers yell at Johnson "put down the knife" to which
Johnson stated, "no." She said that this verbiage between the parties was repeated several times.
then observed Johnson raise his arm that held the knife and quickly walk towards the
officers "like in an attack position." She stated that Johnson got within approximately five feet of
the officers who were still yelling at Johnson to drop the knife before any shots were fired. She
observed both officers "quickly get their guns out and fire seven to eight rounds." said
that Johnson immediately dropped to the ground from the impact of being struck with multiple

occurred at the above listed location. I responded to the scene and met with Lt Ransom who was in
command of the incident. I received a quick brief on the situation as he understood at that beginning
stage. There were two officers involved and one suspect who had already been pronounced deceased.
From a distance on the sidewalk I observed a male laying on his back with a significant of blood coming
from his person. He was behind a car in the parking lot. I observed a hammer, and what appeared to be
a pipe laying close to him. What appeared to be a large knife was laying on the ground in between two
cars next to him.
I responded to the designated to assist with first contact duties. I took custody of the body worn
cameras and transported them to the station and downloaded each to Axon. I sent the videos to the
Meridian police department.

Narrative
On 8/3/23 at about 1122 hours, I (Detective S. Moore #1019) was working as a school resource officer
(SRO) at Borah High School (6001 W. Cassia Street Boise).
I was listening to my department issued radio when I heard “shots fired”. I researched a call for service
regarding a welfare check at Boise. Upon locating the address, I responded to the
area to assist. I then observed radio traffic stating the scene was static and no further code 3 (overhead
emergency lighting and siren) was needed.
I arrived on scene and reported to the incident commander (Lt. Nielson). Lt. Nielson requested that I start
at the scene were the deceased was located and work East on foot, looking for possible bullet fragments
and entry points. I searched the area with Officer Bromgard, where he located damage to a brick wall
directly East of the scene, see his supplemental report.
I observed an apartment complex with a parking garage what appeared to be a gym directly East of the
scene. I walked toward the entrance with Officer Chally in an attempt to identify any person(s) that may
have witnessed the incident or any video surveillance that would be useful.
I spoke with the front desk who then directed officers to the rooftop where we observed a tennis /
basketball court and inside gym. I spoke to a person in the gym who advised the workers (he pointed to
two guys standing near the railing just outside the gym) had seen or heard the incident, however, he did
not observe anything.
I approached the workers and identified witness- , who advised he was with a
painting crew that had been tasked with working on the property. stated he was working
when the incident took place, but was located on the street and inside his pickup truck. was
located on W. Island Avenue, facing West and seated in his pickup truck. was parking near
an entrance / exit driveway to the complex and talking with another worker, while other workers were in a
hi-lift (telescoping heavy equipment) painting the side of the building.
heard 5-6 shots, then saw constructions workers-not any of his workers, run from north to
south on Sherwood Street, crossing over W. Island Avenue. told his workers to enter the
covered parking garage for safety. heard sirens, followed by arriving police officers.
did not witness the interaction with officers and the suspect, nor anyone else that day.

I obtained information and took a photograph of his identification card.
I then met with security, who allowed me to view the buildings video surveillance system. The camera
angle showed limited views, but was focused in the general area of the incident. Security advised they
would save the footage and copy it to a CD or portable thumb drive if needed.
On 8/24/23 at about 1210 hours, I met with the building manager and obtained 2 videos, saved to a
portable thumb drive, later uploaded to as evidence to this case.

Probable Cause
On August 3rd, 2023, Christian Johnson aggressed Officers Andy Johnson and Garrett Miller with a fixed blade knife in
one hand and a hammer and crowbar in the other. Christian had called dispatch requesting officers respond to his
residence. Upon arrival Christian exited his apartment and made contact with Miller and Johnson in the parking lot,
where he aggressed them with the weapons over his head in an aggressive manner. Officers gave multiple commands to
stop and to drop the weapons, however, Christian refused and continued to aggress Miller and Johnson. Both officers

Summary of Event
Initial Information and call into dispatch:
On 8/3/23 at approximately 1052 hours Ada County Dispatch receives a phone call with an open line,
dispatch is able to make contact and a male answered the phone stating he was in trouble with a stalking
event. Male states his address and dispatch is able to get a name of Christian Johnson. Christian sounds
confused and paranoid on the phone. He confirms he is Christian Johnson. There are 3 separate calls, in
the second call as soon as dispatch answers the phone Christian states something about having a gun.
When officers Johnson and Miller arrive on scene Christian exits his apartment with a fixed blade knife,
hammer and crow bar type tool in his hands. Christian was yelling and refusing commands from officers
to drop the weapons. Christian then begins running at officers with both hands raised and the weapons in
his hands. Christian can be heard mumbling something as he nears the officers. It sounds as if he says
"I'm going to kill you Motherfucker". However it is hard to hear exactly. The officers were giving Christian
clear verbal commands to drop the weapons and to stop. Christian continued to run at the officers with
both hands raised with weapons in both hands. Officer Miller and Officer Johnson discharge their issued
handguns at Christian and he falls to the ground. Officers began lifesavings measures and requested
medics, however, Christian did not survive.
Background information:
After receiving background information from investigators about Christian Johnson I was informed he was
on felony probation. I contacted his probation officers, Derek Austin, on 8/10/23. Derek told me he had
been in contact with Christian a few days prior to the shooting. He stated Christian had a problem with a

downstairs neighbor and had broken their window and had been charged with malicious injury to property
so Derek requested a meeting with Christian to discuss the circumstances. Christian told Derek he had
issues with a neighbor "Talking shit" so he broke their window. Derek also said Christian seemed to be
having some mental health issues as well as substance abuse struggles and requested going to an in
patient facility to get help. Christian also had a lengthy criminal history, including aggravated assault,
resisting and obstructing (Idaho) and attempted robbery (Nevada).
I also spoke to Christian's Mother, who informed me Christian has been struggling with mental health
issues for at least 20 years. She stated she or the family was not mad at law enforcement and believed
they had a right to protect themselves but was surprised to hear Christian assaulted the officers.
Christian's was also contacted. stated she has been with

Christian for 20 years and has struggled with alcohol abuse and was supposed to be staying at the
Mission in Boise in an effort to help with his drinking. stated Christian was not even supposed to
be at the apartment that day. She also stated he had been becoming increasingly paranoid as of late.
Crime Scene:
A total of 9 casings were recovered on scene and later during an autopsy it was discovered all 9 rounds
were still in the body. It was determined Johnson fired 4 rounds from his .45 caliber pistol and Miller fired
5 rounds from his 9mm pistol for a total of 9 rounds. A crowbar, hammer and fixed blade knife with an
approximately 12 inch blade were also recovered at the scene.
Autopsy Results:
An autopsy was performed the next morning and it was discovered Christian was shot 9 times and all 9
rounds were still in his body. A bag of what appeared to be marijuana was also located in his sock during
the autopsy. The evidence was later collected from his body and booked into the Meridian Police
Departments evidence room.
Officer Garrett Miller's Interview:

Officer Miller was familiar with Christian and had spoken to Christian a few days earlier for a 911 hang up
call. Officer Miller stated during that conversation with Christian that Christian had admitted do smoking a
lot of meth. Miller advised Officer Johnson over the radio that he had contact with Christian a few days
prior and advised him of the meth use as well as the paranoia Christian was displaying during the last
contact Miller had with him. Miller received updates from Johnson, who was on the phone with Christian
while en route to the apartment, that Christian was requesting officers respond to the apartment and he
will meet them in the parking lot to arrest him. Miller had looked Christian up in ITS (Incident Tracking
System) and had noticed Christian had several resist and obstruct charges. When Miller arrived Johnson
was already on scene. Miller stated prior to getting on scene dispatch had updated the call with
information that Christian had called back into dispatch and said something about a gun. Once Miller
joined Johnson in the parking lot he began hearing yelling from the direction of Christian's apartment.

looked like a straight pipe or ice pick in the same hand as the hammer. Miller also saw a big black knife in
Christians right hand.
Miller advised Johnson that Christian had a knife in his hand. Miller began using commands instructing
Christian to put everything on the ground and drop the knife. Miller stated Christian replied by saying
"Come get it" or "Come get me". Miller stated they requested additional units via their handheld radio.
Miller said Christian was now at the bottom of the stairs and walking into the parking lot. Christian was
still ignoring commands to drop the weapons. Miller stated Christian then turned the knife on himself and
was holding it against his abdomen. Christian then turned towards Miller and Johnson and raised the
knife and weapons in his other hand and began moving towards them. Miller described this movement
turned into a run towards them with the weapons in his hands. Miller believed Christian got within 2
parking stalls away before he and Johnson fired their weapons. Miller stated Johnson fired first and he
fired directly after. He thought he fired between 4-6 rounds. Christian fell to the ground and did not move.
Miller then kicked the weapons away from Christians hands before attempting first aid.
Corporal Andy Johnson's Interview:

Corporal Johnson began his shift just prior to responding to the welfare check involving Christian. This
was his first call of his shift. He called Christian on the way to the apartment in an effort to get more
information as how to best help Christian. Christian repeatedly told Johnson that he wanted to go to
Aladdin Bail Bonds. Johnson stated it was hard to understand Christian on the phone and at times very
muffled. He asked Christian if Christian needed a bondsman for warrants he had, however, never got a
response from Christian regarding any warrants. Johnson offered Christian recourses such as
counseling, Pathways and the hospital. Johnson's goal at this point was to get Christian help. Christian
then stopped communicating over the phone so Johnson hung up an continued driving to the apartment.
While en route he called Miller to advise him of the conversation he just had with Christian. Miller also
advised Johnson of his contact with Christian a few days prior and the concern of meth use.
Upon arrival at the apartment complex Johnson and Miller heard Christian talking in the stairwell of his
apartment. They tried to make contact with Christian, who was now walking down the stairs of the
apartment complex. Johnson could see Christian had a hammer and crowbar in his hand. Johnson then
requested assistance from more officers code 3, which is lights and siren response to their location for
assistance. Johnson then saw the knife in Christians other hand as Christian walked into the parking lot.
Johnson then witnessed Christian put the knife to his stomach and turn away from then slightly. Johnson
was concerned about Christian hurting himself with the knife and how Johnson would render medical aid
to him. Christian then turned his attention back towards Johnson and Miller. Johnson saw Christian raise
the hammer and crowbar in his left hand and knife in his right hand over his head in a threatening
manner and began running at them. Johnson and Miller gave numerous commands for Christian to stop,
however, Christian continued to run at them with the weapons above his head in a threatening manner.
As Christian got closer Johnson heard Christian saying something to the effect of "No,no,no" as they
were giving him commands to stop. Johnson fired his weapon striking Christian and Christian fell to the
ground. Johnson then holstered his pistol and began attempting first aid until Lt. Ransom arrived on

Conclusion:
Both Johnson and Miller were afraid for their safety as Christian raised the knife in one hand and
hammer and crowbar in the other and ran at them, refusing commands to stop and drop the weapons.
The parking lot had citizens coming and going from apartments and public safety was paramount, as well
as the safety of Officers Miller and Johnson. Christian refused all commands to stop and put down the
weapons. Due to Christians actions, both Miller and Johnson fired their handguns, striking Christian,
which immediately stopped him.

Narrative
On August 3, 2023 at approximately 11:22 hours, I was notified of an officer involved shooting in
Boise, involving Boise Police officers, by Cpl Wear. I was advised there were two officers
involved in the incident. Cpl Wear requested I respond to meet with Critical Incident Task Force
(CITF) members, as part of the First Contact Team. The location for the First Contact Team to
meet was . Involved officers were transported to for
the CITF investigation, prior to our arrival.
Upon my arrival at , I met with Det Paul Jagosh (BPD), Det Chuck Roath (BPD),
Det T Krueger (BPD), Cpl Wear(MPD), Det Caygle (MPD), and Det Josh Thorndyke (GCPD) for
further assignment. Cpl Wear was assigned as the First Contact Team Lead. We met as the First
Contact Team in room (away from the rooms the involved officers were located in), which was
also the collection point for the First Contact Team of all items taken for further evidence and
further processing by the First Contact Team, and may be referred to further in my report as the
CITF room. I was assigned as a member of the First Contact Team to make contact with Officer
Miller, along with Det Thorndyke and Det Roath.
Officer Garrett Miller-BPD
I responded with the above listed members to to make contact with Ofc Miller in that
room. Upon contact, Det Thorndyke took overall photos of Ofc Miller, after which his duty belt,
containing his handgun (Glock 17), and 2 extra magazines were collected by me. Also, after the
completion of the photos, Ofc Miller's Body Worn Camera was collected by Det Roath, and was
later transferred to Det Jagosh, for download of any video related to this incident.
Upon our return to the CITF room, and out of Ofc Miller's presence, I conducted a round count of
Ofc Miller's handgun and magazines. Prior to performing the round count, Det Thorndyke took
photos of the collected duty belt. I had already removed the Glock 17 from the holster, and the 2
extra magazines from their holder, prior to the photos of the duty belt. Ofc Miller was issued a
Glock 17 9MM handgun, (serial #BCVL861) with standard sights.
I performed the round count of Ofc Miller's handgun. The handgun contained a magazine which
had 12 rounds, and one chambered round. The extra magazines from Ofc Miller's duty belt each
had a capacity of 17 rounds. One of the magazines held 17 rounds, while the second magazine
held 18 rounds. Det Thorndyke took additional photos of the rounds outside of the magazines,
and handgun (for the chambered round). The extra magazines did not appear to have been
accessed during the incident, nor did Ofc Miller advise of accessing them.
At the conclusion of the round count, I placed the Glock 17 in a firearm's evidence box, and Det

Thorndyke assisted by securing it with zip-ties, to be booked into the Meridian Police
Department's evidence room. Additionally, I placed the ammunition back into the magazines, with
the exception of the round from the barrel. I placed the magazines from the magazine pouches in
an evidence envelope, and the magazine from the Glock's magazine-well in a separate evidence
envelope. The loose round from the barrel was also packaged separately. Ofc Miller's duty belt
was returned to him, with the exception of the items listed as taken for evidence.
The collected Glock, magazines and ammunition were transferred to Cpl Wear, to be transported
as evidence back to MPD to be booked.
Officer Andy Johnson-BPD
At the conclusion of the round count of Ofc Johnson's firearm and magazines, by other members
of the First Contact Team, I returned his duty belt to him . I did not have further
contact with Ofc Johnson.
Notification to Command Post
At the conclusion of conducting round counts of the above listed officers, I notified CITF Lead
Investigator, Det Seth Washburn (MPD), of the round counts of each.
Evidence Processing
I returned to MPD, where I met with Cpl Wear and Det Caygle in MPD Evidence. I assisted in
processing the items collected by the First Contact Team, and they were later booked in by Cpl
Wear and Det Caygle.
No further action by this officer at this time. See additional supplements from listed members of

Critical Incident Task Force (CITF) Activation
On August 3, 2023 at approximately at 1134 hours, I received notification of a CITF activation with
regards to an officer involved shooting in Boise, ID. I was informed that two (2) Boise Police
officers were involved in the shooting. Myself, Det. Cpl. Wear, and Det. Rhoades all met at
for our assignment to the first contact team. Upon arrival we met with the
following detectives also assigned to the first contact team: BPD Krueger, BPD P. Jagosh, BPD C.
Rothe, and GCPD J. Thorndyke.
First Contact with Officer Johnson
Myself, BPD Krueger, and Det. Wear made contact with Ofc. Johnson is
I photographed Ofc. Johnson's person and we took possession of his duty belt with all
equipment on it with the exception of his handheld radio. Once back in the contact teams'
Cpl. Wear completed a round count of Ofc. Jonson's loaded firearm and spare magazines. I took
photograph's of said items and attached them to this report. Ofc. Johnson's duty belt was
returned to him.
Evidence Processing
Cpl. Wear and I retained the items collected from Officer Miller by Det. Rhoades along with Ofc.
Johnson's equipment. We then transported the items to the Meridian Police Department to be

Narrative
On 08/03/2023 at 1059 hours Evidence technician and I were requested to respond to
St for evidence collection and processing related to a CITF investigation. Upon our arrival at
approximately 1145 we met with Detective Fuller who walked us through the scene and described
what had happened and what he had been told by Detective Ransom of BPD.
I took digital photos of the overall crime scene as it had been identified to me including the BPD
vehicles that were involved and the deceased suspect who was laying in the parking lot in
parking space number . Detective Fuller showed me the fired casings that were laying in
parking space and in front of a Ford Mustang parked in space Detective Fuller advised
that the knife, hammer, and pry bar all belonged to the suspect.
I asked CSO Gossage to assist me with placing the evidence markers for the casings and the
weapons identified as belonging to the suspect. I then took photos of the evidence as it was
numbered and close up images including the scale of the evidence markers for each of the items
to be collected. The items listed in this report include their associated evidence marker number
in the item description for clarification. We collected (9) casings in total. Four of the casings were
Speer .45cal and five of them were Speer 9mm casings which was consistent with the initial
round count we had relaeyd fromthe officers involved. Detective Fuller declined my offer to
sketch the parking stall with numbers due to the fact that numerous drone photos had been taken
to document the location of the evidence within the scene.

Once photographed CSO Gossage assisted me with the collecting and packaging of the evidence
items. Detective Whilden also assisted with boxing up the knife, hammer and pry bar. The
coroner arrived on scene and I took photos of the deceased suspect as they were preparing to
remove the body from the scene. Evidence Technician Moeller also assisted in these photos.
We cleared the scene at approximately 1600 hours and returned to MPD. All of the evidence items
were brought back to MPD for booking into ITS and stored in the evidence vault. Refer to Moeller

Narrative
On 08/03/2023, at approximately 1100 hours, Detective Rackley and Detective Fuller asked
Detective Whilden, Evidence Technician Boyes, and me to respond to in
reference to the activation of the CITF team responding to an officer-involved shooting with Boise
Police Department.
At approximately 1220 hours, Detective Fuller met with Whilden, Boyes, Gossage, and I where we
logged into the scene and were briefed. The scene was located in the parking lot of the
. While walking through the scene with Fuller, pointed out the building
on the corner of Sherwood Street and West Island Street. Fuller said he was informed bullet
strikes may have hit the brick wall. Fuller asked Detective Whilden and me to canvas the entire
landscape along to brick wall to look for any bullet fragments. After an extensive search Whilden
and I were unable to locate any fragments.
As we continued through the scene, I observed the apartments to be under construction. The
parking lot was taped off with crime scene tape .
Gossage and Boyes focused on the primary location of the scene where the deceased individual,
later identified as Christian Johnson was deceased in parking stall See Boyes and Gossage
supplement for further details. AS Gossage and Boyes collected evidence, I assisted with
additional photographs as the coroner moved the body.
At approximately 1600 hours, we returned to the Meridian Police department and secured all the
evidence in the vault.

Critical Incident Task Force (CITF) Activation
On 8/3/2023 at approximately at 1134 hours, I received notification of a CITF activation regarding

an Officer Involved Shooting (OIS) in Boise. Further information acquired revealed two (2) Boise
Police Officers were involved in the shooting and one (1) suspect had been shot one scene. I later
learned the incident occurred in or around the area of in Boise. After
receiving confirmation for the Involved Officers having been escorted to ,
Detective Rhoades, Detective Caygle and I responded to for our assignment to the First
Contact Team as part of the CITF investigation.
First Contact at
Upon arrival we met with the following Detectives, also assigned to the First Contact Team: Boise
Police Detective T. Krueger, Boise Police Detective P. Jagosh, Boise Police Detective C. Rothe,
and Garden City Police Detective J. Thorndyke.
While speaking with the above Detectives, I learned the Involved Officers were identified as Boise
Police Officer G. Miller and Boise Police Officer A. Johnson. Officer Miller was and
Officer Johnson was . I was further advised Attorney J. Mallett would be consulting
with both Officers.
During our briefing the First Contact Team was divided into two teams in an effort to effectively
meet with each Involved Officer. Detective Krueger, Detective Caygle and I agreed we would meet
with Officer A. Johnson to complete our portion of the First Contact with Officer
Johnson while some of the other Detectives met with Officer Miller.
First Contact with Officer Johnson
After Officer Johnson was able to meet and speak with his attorney, Detective Krueger, Detective
Caygle and I enter . After introductions were complete, Detective Caygle
proceeded to photograph Officer Johnson's person and duty equipment. Once the photographs
were completed, we collected Officer Johnson's duty belt to conduct a round count of his
ammunition and collect his duty issued firearm, magazines and remaining ammunition.
Additionally, Officer Johnson provided his issued Body Worn Camera (BWC labeled #610) to
Detective Krueger who provided the BWC to Detective Rhoades who transferred possession of
the BWC to Detective Jagosh to provide to the command post for download and review.
When asked whether or not Officer Johnson carried his duty magazines at full capacity, he

advised he thought so. When I asked him if he conducted a tac-reload, he replied in the negative. I
inquired as to whether or not he carried a back-up firearm and he told me no. At this point, with
the photographs being complete and the duty belt with the firearm and magazines collected, we
retained these items and transferred them to a separate designated for the First
Contact team for evidentiary processing.
While in the aforementioned designated , Detective Caygle and I completed a round

count of Officer Johnson's ammunition. Detective Caygle photographed Officer Johnson's duty
belt, Glock model 21 Gen 4, .45 ACP (serial #VSE264), magazines, and ammunition. During the
round count, I observed the magazine removed from Officer Johnson's Glock held nine (9)
rounds. The magazine was designed to have a thirteen (13) round capacity, and there was one (1)
round in the chamber. During this time, I observed all three magazines had previously been
labeled “610” in a silver Sharpy like marker.
At the completion of the round count, Detective Caygle and I proceeded to place the firearm,
magazines and ammunition into designated evidence packaging for evidentiary submittal. The
Glock was placed in a designated evidence pistol box. The single round from the chamber was
placed in it's own evidence envelope. The magazine, along with the nine (9) rounds of ammunition
from the Glock was placed in it's own evidence envelope. The remaining two (2) magazines, along
with the thirteen (13) rounds from each magazine, were placed together in another evidence
envelope.
At this point, Detective Rhoades returned Officer Johnson's duty belt to him. Detective Caygle and
I collected and retained the items collected from Officer Miller. Detective Caygle and I proceeded
to transport Officer Johnson's and Officer Miller's firearms, magazines and ammunition to the
Meridian Police Department to be booked into the evidence room.
Upon arrival to the Meridian Police Department, Detective Caygle, Detective Rhoades and I
proceeded with the processing and sealing of Officer Miller's and Officer Johnson's firearms,
magazines and ammunition. Detective Caygle and I booked all the above-mentioned items into

SYNOPSIS
On August 3, 2023 at approximately 1134 hours, I was notified of an officer involved shooting which
occurred by Boise Police Officers in the City of Boise. Upon being notified of this, I was activated as part
of the Critical Incident Task Force (CITF) and was requested to respond to the scene to investigate this
incident. I was notified this incident occurred near the residence of in Boise,
Idaho.
Upon arriving on scene, I was briefed on the incident which occurred and assisted with the investigation
by conducting a canvas at neighboring residences, while speaking with residents in the area. While being
briefed I observed a deceased adult male lying in the parking lot.
The following is my documentation in summary of the interviews I completed, during these interviews,
MPD Det. Churchfield was present with me.

Prior to completing residential canvas interviews, I was flagged down by a resident of the area who was
standing outside the crime scene tape. I approached and spoke with this resident who I identified by her
Idaho driver’s license as that of . While speaking with she informed me her
vehicle was parked within the taped off area and informed me she needed to access her vehicle to go to
work. Upon learning of this, I briefly interviewed who informed me she was not aware of the
incident that had occurred and stated she did not witness near hear anything relating to this incident.
After learning of this, I escorted to her vehicle, a white Ford Ranger bearing Idaho license plate:
which was parked in space number:
Prior to leaving the area, I examined her vehicle and found no damage consistent with being
caused by gunfire to her vehicle. After assuring her vehicle was not damaged, I escorted in her
vehicle outside the crime scene tape.
It should be noted, entered the taped off area at approximately 1248 hours and left at
approximately 1252 hours.
INTERVIEW –
After escorting the resident of , Boise, ID approached the crime
scene tape where had exited. While speaking with this resident, I identified her by her Idaho
driver’s license as that of . During my conversation with she informed me she
was on her lunch break from work and came home to tend to her dogs. requested to go to her
apartment, within the taped off area. After speaking with and learning she had not been home
when this incident occurred, I escorted her around the rear of her apartment building and to her front
door. entered her residence briefly before returning with her dogs, who she allowed to use the
restroom. After this was complete, secured her dogs and I escorted her back to an area outside
the crime scene tape.
It should be noted, entered the taped off area at approximately 1254 hours and left at
approximately 1304 hours.
CANVAS INTERVIEW –
Once had been escorted outside the area, Det. Churchfield and I began out residential canvas
to identify any witnesses and/or to collect any evidence located as a result of this canvas. We began at
where we spoke with and ,
who were both identified by their Idaho driver’s licenses.
During my interview with she informed me she exited her residence shortly before hearing
gunfire to retrieve bottled waters from her vehicle. While outside her residence, she noticed two
uniformed Boise Police Officers. As continued to watch the officers, she heard them shout, “at

least five times,” “Christian, put the knife down.” continued to explain, each time the officers
shouted this, the adult male who they were encountering replied “no, no.” stated the adult male’s
response of “no” numerous times sounded distressed and “crazy.” After hearing shouting but not being
able to see the male, stated the adult male came into her view at which time she observed he
was shirtless and was holding a large knife with his right arm fully extended above his head.
stated the officers continued to shout for the adult male to drop the knife at which time the adult male,
with his arm raised above his head, began walking at officers at a brisk pace. When asked,
stated the adult male had another object in his left had as well, but stated she could not determine what
the object was. continued to explain, as the adult male with the knife raised neared the officers,
the officers fired their handguns at the male, at which time he fell to the ground. stated she
believed she heard approximately nine gunshots. stated after the gunfire, she retreated inside
her residence and shouted to , while crying and stating “they killed him.”
While I spoke with was present who informed me at the time of the incident, he had
been inside his bedroom. recalled, when entered their apartment shouting “they killed
him” he was off struck, not realizing what had just happened, and consoled .
Prior to leaving residence, she informed me she had not seen any other witnesses outside their
residence in the parking lot at the time of this incident.
CANVAS INTERVIEW – No Answer
After speaking with , Det. Churchfield and I went to the residence of

stated at the time of the gunfire, he had been inside his apartment. stated he recalled hearing loud
bangs, which he initially believed to be knocks at his door. stated after hearing the bangs, he
opened his front door finding no one. explained, he later came to learn of the officer involved
shooting and believed the “bangs” he heard to be gunfire. stated he did not make any observations
and did not have any video surveillance footage of the area.

conversation with he informed us he had been inside his apartment at the time of the incident
and stated he believed he heard approximately three loud “bangs.” initially believed this to be a
knock at his door but upon opening his front door, he found no one present. later learned of the
gunfire related to this incident and agreed the “bangs” he heard to be gunfire.

After being unable to make contact with any residents at apartment # Det. Churchfield and I went to
the residence of , Boise, ID. While speaking with the resident of this home, I
identified him verbally as that of . During our conversation, informed me he had just
woken up and explained he did not hear anything or see anything related to this incident. had been
made aware a critical incident had occurred but had no information or first hand knowledge to provide.
After speaking with Det. Churchfield and I went to the residence of ,

Boise, ID. While at this residence, we identified the residents as that of
During our conversation with , they informed us they had not been home at
the time of the critical incident but explained they had a surveillance camera affixed to their balcony,
overlooking the parking lot. informed me during our conversation, she had already viewed the
video footage and observed officers encounter an adult male who aggressed them in the parking lot,
which resulted in officers firing their handguns at the adult male. stated while reviewing the
audio on the video, she believed she heard the officers state, “drop the gun” and “drop the fucking gun”
numerous times, prior to the officers discharging their firearms.
As we continued to speak, informed me there had been police activity within the apartment
complex “Sunday night” (July 30, 2023). stated she was not familiar with why the police had
been in the area. As we spoke further, she informed me she had lived within the apartment complex for
approximately eight years and had never had any issues with other residents in the complex, but stated
intoxicated individuals would sometimes wander into the complex from nearby Ann Morrison Park.

As a result of Det. Churchfield and my canvas, we were able to interview residents who observed the
critical incident occur first hand as well as collect video surveillance footage showing the incident. While
reviewing witness statements and video surveillance footage, it appears Boise Police Officers who were
involved in this incident shouted to the adult male numerous times to drop his weapon. After the male
failed to do so and aggressed officers, they fired their weapons, striking the adult male.
Upon returning to the Meridian Police Department, I reviewed the video surveillance footage, provided by
further. While reviewing this footage, the officers can be seen and heard shouting,
“put the knife down Christian,” “put the knife down,” “put the knife down Christian,” “put the knife down,”
“put the knife *unintelligible*.” After making these statements, an adult male, whose identity I later came
to learn to be that of Christian Johnson, came into view running towards officers with his arm fully
extended. As the male approached, officers could be seen and heard discharging their firearms, at which
time Christian fell to the ground.
After reviewing this video footage, I found the audio was difficult to hear as there appeared to be a
substantial amount of electrical feedback corrupting the audio file.
CONCLUSION
At the completion of our canvas interviews, Det. Churchfield and I left the area.

Narrative
On 8-3-2023 at approximately 1145 hours, I was directed to respond to , in
reference to an officer involved shooting incident which had recently occurred at the address.
Det. Rackley and I arrived at the parking lot of the location, checked in on the crime scene log,
then met with Boise Police Lt. Ransom.
I was informed by Lt. Ransom that, the male subject, later identified as Christian Phillip Johnson,
was known to the Boise Police Officers due to prior contacts they had with him. I was advised
that the most recent prior contact was approximately two days earlier. Lt. Ransom explained to
me that prior to the incident, Johnson had contacted dispatch and stated he need to be arrested
for possession of a controlled substance.
Lt. Ransom continued to explain that when officers arrived on scene, Johnson was in the parking
lot and was holding a knife to his stomach and was walking towards the officers. When Johnson
got approximately two parking spaces away from the officers, he raised the knife and charged the
officers, who then fired at Johnson who fell to the ground where first aid was attempted but was
unsuccessful.
Lt. Ransom provided me with a walk through of the crime scene, during which time he showed
me where Johnson was laying, where the officers were standing when they shot, and a brick wall
at the far east end of the parking lot where it was believed two bullet strikes had occurred.
As I walked around the crime scene I observed that the parking lot had parking spaces on both
the north and south sides, which were numbered, I observed that the apartment buildings were
being renovated and because of that there was a large dumpster to the north east of were the
incident occurred. to the east of the parking lot, approximately 70 yards away was the brick wall
were it was believed two bullets had impacted. This location was marked by an orange traffic
cone.
I observed that the entire parking lot had been cordoned off with crime scene tape. At the scene
of the incident, I found that there was a Boise Police vehicle parked at an angle on the south side
of the parking lot in parking spaces . On the north side of the parking lot, I observed
vehicles parked in spaces were empty. The spaces
were numbered from the west to the east in ascending order.
Johnson's body was laying behind the vehicle parked in space number with his head
oriented to the south and his legs to the north, which were crossed, and both of his arms were
out to his sides. It should be noted that I am not aware if his body position was how he fell to the
ground or if it was a result of him being moved when officers rendered medical aid to him.

Behind the vehicle parked in space where I was informed the two Boise Police Officers
involved were standing, I observed a blanket on the ground and two empty shell casings. When I
inquired about the blanket, I was advised that a civilian had brought the blanket to officers after
the incident and was not present at the time of the incident. I lifted the blanket up and moved it
revealing an additional spent shell casing.
In parking space I observed 5 additional empty shell casings, a claw hammer, a pry bar, and
a large knife. while looking under the vehicle parked in space I located one more empty
casing, bringing the total number of empty shell casings to nine.
I inspected the brick wall that allegedly was struck by officers bullets. I observed two locations
where the brick had been chipped out. When Meridian Evidence Technician arrived, we attempted
to locate projectiles in the surrounding area near but were unsuccessful.
Det. Rackley contacted a drone operator to video the scene, after which time Meridian Evidence
Tech Boyes took still photos of the scene. Once all photographs were finished, Meridian Evidence
Techs marked all of the evidentiary items, photographed them and collected them.
I spoke with Det. Washburn, who was at the incident command post, during which time he
advised me that the total number of rounds fired was nine. I advised Det. Washburn that I had
located nine empty shell casings at the scene. Det. Washburn advised me that the Ada County
Coroner was on stand by awaiting my call.
Once all of the evidence was collected, I contacted the Ada County Coroner who arrived a short
time later. The coroner conducted its investigation then removed Johnson's body from the scene.
Sgt. Parson's contacted a hazardous waste clean up company to clean the scene, after which
time I left the scene.
On 8-4-2023 I attended the Autopsy of Johnson. I was informed that X-rays were taken of
Johnson's body which revealed that there were nine projectiles in his body. I observed the
autopsy and the removal of all nine projectiles, after which time I took custody of all of evidence
collected by the coroners office.
I returned to the Meridian Police Department Evidence room where I booked all of the evidence
into the evidence room.

Narrative
On 08/03/23, at 1134 hours, I received an electronic notification on my department cell phone
indicating the Critical Incident Task Force had been activated following an officer involved
shooting in Boise. I was notified the incident occurred in the area of .
At approximately 1220 hours I arrived and checked in at the scene to assist with the investigation.
The scene was located in the parking lot north of the apartment building . Among
the second row of uncovered parking stalls to the north of the aforementioned building, were
stalls Parked in stall was a blue Mitsubishi Lancer (no license plates). On
the ground, directly behind the vehicle, was a deceased male. The decedent was later identified to
me as Christian Johnson.
Within stall on the ground, I observed a fixed-blade knife, a metal spike (or pry bar), and a
claw hammer. I observed three shell casings also within the stall. Two empty shell casings were
located on or near the dividing line between stall In stall was parked a blue Ford
Mustang ( ). Under the Mustang I observed one empty shell casing,
and three empty shell casings were on the ground approximately 1-3 feet south of the parking

stall. I observed a wadded up blanket on the ground approximately three feet southwest of the
Mustang. Det. J. Fuller explained to me he had been advised this blanket had been brought out by
a neighbor to offer to cover the decedent, and was not directly involved in the incident.
I assisted Evidence Tech. C. Boyes by placing evidence markers, and in collecting the evidence
after she documented the scene with photographs.
On 08/04/23, at approximately 1450 hours, I assisted Det. J. Fuller with booking the decedent's
belongings and the projectiles seized during the autopsy into MPD Property and Evidence.

Narrative
On 8/3/23 at approximately 1134 hours, I responded to in Boise with Det. Fuller as
part of the CITF in response to Boise PD officers being involved in a shooting the resulted in the
death of Christian Johnson. Upon arriving on scene, I checked into the crime scene and was
briefed on the known details by BPD staff that was on scene. While being led through the scene, I
observed the officer involved shooting took place in an apartment complex's parking lot adjacent
to parking space which was occupied by a blue Mitsubishi Lancer which did not have license
plates on it. On the ground immediately south of the Lancer, Christian was lying on the ground.
The adjacent parking space to the west was vacant and space contained a blue Mustang.
At the conclusion of the scene tour, I was contacted by Ofc. Pieczonka/BPD who told me he had
been approached by a female tenant who identified herself as who had told
him she had witnessed the officer involved shooting. Ofc. Pieczonka told me he had gotten an
initial statement from however her believed she may have additional details to provide.
Several minutes later, I passed information on to the detectives who were conducting
the area canvas along with a request that they contact and interview I later learned
was contacted by Det. Ferronato/MPD.
The blue Mustang mentioned above had a temporary . On the

ground around the Mustang were multiple shell casings from the rounds fired by BPD officers.
While attempting to locate additional casings, I noticed the Mustang had a forward-facing camera
mounted on the rear-view mirror. As the Mustang was backed into the parking space, the officer
involved shooting occurred in front of the vehicle and could have been captured by the camera
depending on its settings.
By conducting a records check on the Mustang, I learned it was registered to and

with an address in and that the permanent license plate, which was
not attached was . As a result of a records check, I was able to obtain a phone number
for . At approximately 1306 hours, I called and spoke with him on the phone and
verified that he was the owner of the Mustang. During my phone call with he confirmed he
had a camera mounted in his car and told me he wasn't sure what type of activities caused the
camera to activate while it was in "sentry mode". After giving a brief rundown on the officer

involved shooting, told me he was willing to assist with the investigation by consenting to
me accessing his vehicle and removing the memory card from the camera. I subsequently walked
to apartment and spoke with him in person and while doing so, as an additional sign of
his consent, he handed me his car keys and asked that I return them to him once I had removed
the memory card from the camera. During this conversation, told me the camera he had in
his car was a Garmin DashCam DC47.
I returned to the Mustang, and used the key fob to unlock the car. Once in the vehicle, I removed
a ScanDisk Extreme 32G SD card from the camera which I subsequently collected as evidence.
During this process, I took pictures of the car, the camera and the memory card which I have
attached to this report. After I removed the memory card, I returned to apartment and
provided him with a property invoice to serve as a receipt for the memory card that I collected as
evidence.
At approximately 1430 hours, I went to with Det. Stoffle in an attempt to

contact who was Christian's however she wasn't at the residence which
had the front door wide open. From outside of the apartment, I was able to see there was a black
nylon knife sheath on the kitchen counter which appeared to be for the knife that was lying on the
ground near Johnson. At approximately 1505 hours, I was told had attempted to return to
her apartment however because it was within the crime scene, she had not been allowed in. I
went to the east side of the building and met with Det. Stoffle and and shortly after doing
so we escorted her back to her apartment where we were welcomed inside to speak with her.
Shortly into his interview with she consented to me searching her apartment. I
subsequently searched the apartment while Det. Stoffle interviewed
While searching the apartment, I did not locate any items of contraband within the residence. I
searched to something that may constitute a goodbye note or provide some explanation of
Johnson's action's however I did not locate anything. While searching the residence, I did not find
any obvious indications that Johnson had been living at the residence or that he had even been
staying there for a couple of days; all of the closets, shelves and storage racks were filled with
women's clothing. The only item I located that linked Johnson to the residence was the knife
sheath mentioned above (See attached photos). Lastly, the apartment did not have any beds in it
however there was one nook that had two camping style sleeping pads stacked on top of each
other; this nook was not big enough for two adults. For further information, refer to the attached
pictures.
On 8/7/23 I reviewed the videos on the SD card that I removed from the camera in car and

Supplemental: Interview with Corporal Andrew
Johnson
08-08-2023
On 08-08-2023, at approximately 1306 hours, Detective Tom Krueger of the Boise Police Department
and I interviewed Boise Police Corporal Andrew Johnson reference to the Officer involved shooting that
occurred on 08-03-2023. The interview took place at Joseph Mallet's office located at 1925 N. Locust
Grove Road in Meridian, Idaho. Corporal Johnson's attorney was present during the interview. I advised
the interview was being recorded, this was a criminal investigation, and Corporal Johnson was not
required to speak with us. Corporal Johnson understood and wished to speak with us voluntarily. All
times in this report were according to my wrist watch. The interview was recorded using my digital
recorder and the audio was added into the case file. Note: Prior to the interview, Corporal Johnson
reviewed his body worn camera footage.
Background Information:
Corporal Johnson's full legal name is Andrew Scott Johnson and he is 55 years old. Corporal Johnson
currently holds the rank of 20 Year Corporal within the Boise Police Department and has a badge
number of 610. Corporal Johnson normal shift hours
. On the above date of the incident, Corporal Johnson was working 1100 hours to 2100 hours,
on a overtime shift. Corporal Johnson's radio designator is 2227 and he was assigned vehicle number
182 on the above date of the incident.
Corporal Johnson has over 23 years of total Law Enforcement experience, all being at the Boise Police
Department. Corporal Johnson currently holds (what he thought to be) a Masters Certificate through the
Idaho Post Academy. Corporal Johnson has gone through extensive training and has been apart of the
Bike Team for approximately 19 years, part of the FTO (Field Training Officer Division), Rifle Team,
Mobile Field Force, and is an instructor in IPMBA. Corporal Johnson has been an AFC (Acting Field
Commander) for many years.
Corporal Johnson's Weapon and Clothing during the incident:
Corporal Johnson weapon used during the incident was a department issued Glock 21, .45 caliber, semi-
automatic pistol. Corporal Johnson has a weapon mounted light and no other modifications have been
made. Corporal Johnson has qualified successfully with the above Glock and is current with his
certification.

Corporal Johnson was wearing department issued shirt, pants, duty vest and duty belt. Corporal Johnson
was wearing a black short sleeve shirt with Boise Police Patches on either shoulder of the uniform.
Corporal Johnson was wearing a Boise Police Department Officer hard badge and name plate. Corporal
Johnson was wearing a nylon duty belt, black pants, and black duty boots. Corporal Johnson was also
wearing a radio and body worn camera. Corporal Johnson was clearly identifiable as a Police Officer.
Prior Duties and Knowledge of the Incident area:
Corporal Johnson has just started his shift at 1100 hours. Corporal Johnson left the Boise Police
Department and had checked out for vehicle maintenance, getting his patrol car washed. Corporal
Johnson had no previous calls prior to the above incident.
Corporal Johnson advised his knowledge of the area was like any other area within Boise, Idaho.
Corporal Johnson advised he was not aware of anything significant that stood out to him about the
incident area.
Corporal Johnson's statement of the incident:
As stated above, Corporal Johnson began his shift by completing required vehicle maintenance as part
of his duties. Corporal Johnson began reading the calls and noted what he believed to be a welfare
check near downtown Boise area. Corporal Johnson advised he cleared from "Equipment" and thought
he had self assigned to the welfare check. Corporal Johnson realized Officer Miller was also in route, and
Corporal Johnson had not actually assigned to the call. Corporal Johnson then fixed the issue by going in
route to the call as an assist using the MDT.
Corporal Johnson then called the calling party, who was later identified as "Christian." Corporal Johnson
identified himself to Christian as Boise Police and asked him how he could help. Christian kept saying
multiple times throughout the phone call he wanted to go to, "Aladdin Bail Bonds." Corporal Johnson
advised Christian kept doing something with the phone, however he was not sure exactly what was going
on. Corporal Johnson advised when talking to Christian, there were times when it was muffled, almost
like Christian was putting the phone down. Corporal Johnson had a difficult time communicating with
Christian. Note: I later confirmed with Corporal Johnson, who agreed, he was attempting to provide crisis
intervention to Christian by offering him resources such as, Pathways, hospital, or talking with a
counselor. Corporal Johnson asked Christian if he had any warrants based on him wanting to go to
Aladdin Bail Bonds. Corporal Johnson never received a response from Christian on this, however
Corporal Johnson didn't ask anything further about the warrants due to, "my over arching concern was to
get him some help."

At some point during the conversation, Christian asked Corporal Johnson if they were on their way to his
location. Corporal Johnson asked Christian if he would come out of the apartment and talk to him, which
Christian agreed. A short time later, Christian no longer responded to Corporal Johnson, so at this point,
he hung up the phone and continued driving to the location. Corporal Johnson eventually got a hold of
Officer Miller by phone and briefed him on the above conversation. Corporal Johnson couldn't remember
all the details, however Officer Miller advised he was recently at Christian's residence within the last
couple of days and there was concerns of meth use. Corporal Johnson later confirmed he was not aware
of any further details or if there was ever any enforcement action taken on the previous report.
Officer Johnson realized Officer Miller was a short distance behind him, so based on the above
information, he waited for Officer Miller to get closer to the location before pulling into the parking lot of
the incident location. Officer Johnson noted the building of the apartment was under construction. As
Officer Johnson pulled into the parking lot, he had a difficult time finding the exact address, however
noticed a male out on a balcony. As Corporal Johnson got out of his vehicle and walked across parking
lot a short distance, he heard what he believed to be the word "gun" from the direction he had seen the
male. Officer Johnson heard the male keep talking, but was unable to make out what he was saying.
Corporal Johnson relayed this information to Officer Miller once he was on scene. Corporal Johnson and
Officer Miller backed up and took cover behind a vehicle in order to safely talk with Christian, who was
now on the landing of the stairs leading up to the upper level of the apartments. Corporal Johnson stated
once Christian got to the landing, he could see a hammer and a chisel/crow bar type tool in his hand.
Officer Johnson then requested a couple of units "code 3" respond to their location. About this same
time, Officer Miller told Corporal Johnson he could see the male having a large knife in his right hand.
Corporal Johnson eventually saw the knife and Christian ultimately came down the stairs to the ground
level.
Christian then walked into the parking lot and turned away from both Corporal Johnson and Officer Miller,
holding the knife to his stomach area. Corporal Johnson stated Christian turned to the north, making his
left shoulder towards Corporal Johnson. Corporal Johnson described Christian to have the blade of the
knife to his stomach and was holding the handle area with both hands. Corporal Johnson advised he
thought Christian was going to attempt to kill himself. Corporal Johnson then wondered if this did happen,
how he would render medical aid to Christian.
As Corporal Johnson was thinking about rendering aid to Christian should he stab himself, Christian then
turned towards Corporal Johnson and Officer Miller. Corporal Johnson later confirmed Christian was
running towards them with the knife in his right hand and the chisel/crow bar type tool and hammer in his
left hand. Corporal Johnson later noted Christian having the above weapons in a threatening manner,
meaning they were raised away and up from his body, as if he was going to use them to harm Corporal
Johnson or Officer Miller.
Corporal Johnson advised he and Officer Miller giving multiple, clear, concise, commands to Christian as

all of this was happening. Corporal Johnson remembered saying Boise Police, stop, drop the weapons.
At one point, Corporal Johnson realized sometimes it is difficult for two people to be yelling at someone
and for them to understand what was being said. Corporal Johnson stopped providing commands and
allowed Officer Miller to continue giving the same above commands. Corporal Johnson advised Christian
continued to run at them with the knife up as described above. Corporal Johnson advised Christian did
not comply at any point with the commands given.
Corporal Johnson advised Christian got close enough to the point where he thought, "I thought he was
going to kill one or both of us or try to kill one or both of us." Corporal Johnson advised he wasn't sure
who Christian was targeting, however he knew he was coming at him and Officer Miller with the knife, the
hammer, and chisel/crow bar type tool. Later, Corporal Johnson advised Christian was zoned in on his
and Officer Millers location. Corporal Johnson advised Christian was determined to do whatever he was
going to do based on him not following commands. Corporal Johnson later advised in the interview there
were multiple bystanders who could have been attacked by Christian as well. Corporal Johnson also
noted Christian being a much larger male than he was, meaning he was heavier and taller wielding
weapons.
Later in the interview, Corporal Johnson advised he heard Christian yell something along the lines of,
"No, no no," as Corporal Johnson and Officer Miller were giving him commands. Corporal Johnson noted
Christian also making grunting noises and saying other things, but it was difficult to understand.
Corporal Johnson stated he and Officer Miller shot Christian. Once Christian fell to the ground, Corporal
Johnson holstered his weapon and remembered thinking he didn't want this to happen, he never wants
this to happen. Corporal Johnson began putting his gloves on to begin life saving measures. Corporal
Johnson told Officer Miller to get first aid. Corporal Johnson even asked bystanders if they had anything
to help with medical supplies. Corporal Johnson rolled Christian over and noticed a significant amount of
blood coming from Christian. Corporal Johnson was given two bandages and as he was attempting to
figure out where to apply them, Lieutenant Ransom arrived on scene and advised Christian was
obviously deceased. Corporal Johnson was moved away from the scene by Lieutenant Ransom.
Crimes Committed/Suspect Actions/Enviornment:
Corporal Johnson advised Christian was and did commit the crimes of being under the influence in a
public place, resisting and obstructing, and aggravated assault towards both him and Officer Miller.
Corporal Johnson thought for sure Christian was going to kill himself at first, however when he turned
towards Corporal Johnson and Officer Miller, he thought, "he is going to kill us." Other than Officer Miller
briefing Corporal Johnson about previous meth use reference to Christian, he had never dealt or met
Christian to the prior incident.
Corporal Johnson reiterated the multiple commands of, "Boise Police, stop, and drop the weapons."
Corporal Johnson advised Christian could have given up at the very beginning when he was speaking to

him on the phone. Christian could have accepted the help Corporal Johnson was offering to go to the
hospital, Pathways, or see a counselor. Christian could have stopped at the top of the landing when
commands were being given to drop the weapons. Christian could have complied with the commands
and didn't have to charge them with a knife, hammer, and chisel/crow bar type tool. Corporal Johnson
advised Christian had "ample opportunities" to give up.
Corporal Johnson estimated he shot 4-5 rounds. Corporal Johnson did not alter the crime scene in any
way other than rolling Christian over to begin life saving measures. Corporal Johnson advised the
weather was a normal summer day and had no effect on the situation.
Conclusion:
At approximately 1346 hours, I stopped the recording and concluded the interview.

Boise Police Officer Garrett Miller

CITF Interview
August 7th, 2023
On August 7th, 2023 at 1255 hours, I met with Boise Police Officer Garrett Miller at Joe Mallet’s office in
Meridian for a Critical Incident Task Force investigation. Officer Garrett Miller was an involved officer in a
use of force in Boise on August 3rd, 2023. His counsel, Joe Mallet, was present as well as Boise Police
Detective Chris Wirshing.
Garrett acknowledged that he knew the interview was being recorded, that it was a criminal investigation,
and that he was not required to make any statements.
Garrett Daniel Miller is twenty-nine years old. His badge number is 1033. He is a patrol officer with Boise
Police Department. His radio designator the day of the incident was 2229. His patrol vehicle number was
70. His date of employment was September 27th, 2021. He has had no previous law enforcement
experience and no specialized training other than the training he received in the academy or department
training.
Garrett said he was just beginning an overtime, overlap shift that began at 1100 hours and would end at
2100 hours.
WEAPON AND DRESS:
Garrett’s weapon used during the incident was a Glock 17 9mm with no modifications other than extra
grip. Ammunition was department issued. Garrett said his weapon held seventeen rounds plus one in the
chamber. He had two extra magazines on his person. According to Garrett he had a Taser but no other
firearms.
Garrett was wearing his patrol uniform with patches on the shoulders, his duty belt, and external vest. He
said he had a star badge on his upper left shoulder. He said the back of his vest said Boise Police, and
he was wearing his Boise Police cap. He was also standing beside his marked patrol vehicle.
EVENTS PRIOR TO INCIDENT:
According to Garrett this was the first call of the day for him. When asked if he was aware of any crimes
of similar nature in the area, he said not pertaining to aggravated assault, but he had dealt with this
individual a day or two before after a 911 hang up. He spoke to Christian in person. At that time Christian

“claimed to have smoked a bunch of meth.” Based on Christian’s statements there may have been the
crime of possession.
INCIDENT NARRATIVE:
Garrett said that because of other large calls the city was dealing with they were asked to get dressed
and hit the field as soon as possible. He said he wasn’t quite dispatched to the call. He saw the “board”
and saw the name of individual he’d dealt with before for similar reasons. He said as he was leaving the
station, Officer Andy Johnson notified him by radio that he was already speaking with suspect by
landline. Johnson was already downtown at 13th and State and was much closer to the location.
Garrett said he was already grabbing coffee, so he finished doing that and started heading to the call. He
listened for updates from Officer Andy Johnson after his call with the suspect. Garrett said he told
Johnson about his prior contact with the suspect where the suspect told him he’d been smoking a bunch
of meth and hadn’t been sleeping for couple of days as well as showing signs of paranoia. Garrett said
the suspect believed someone was outside his building trying to get in and get him because the external
lights at the building kept going on and off. (Garrett said he talked to the suspect at approximately 0530
hours and told him then that the lights going on and off could be because people were leaving for work
and the nearby street was a busy street.)
According to Garrett, Johnson told him that he just got off the phone with Christian and that Christian
wanted law enforcement to come to his residence; he would meet them outside for them to arrest him
and take him to jail for possession of meth. Garrett told Johnson that he had looked up Christian in ITS
and in a majority of past incidents Christian had received resist and obstruct charges.
Garrett said that by the time he arrived, Johnson was already on scene and outside his vehicle. He said
they parked to the north of Christian’s residence and about another full residence away.
When he got out of his patrol vehicle, Garrett could hear yelling that sounded as if it came from the same
apartment he had contacted Christian at a few days before. Johnson was ahead of Garrett as they were
walking toward the apartment. Johnson stopped and said that Christian had just yelled something about
a gun. (Garrett said that prior to his arrival, dispatch had entered into the call notes that Christian had re-
land lined and mentioned something about a gun. He said he thought Officer Johnson was talking about
the update that dispatch had put in the call. He said he asked Johnson, and Johnson told him that no,
Christian was yelling right then about a gun.)
Garrett said he stopped behind what he believed was a blue Mitsubishi. He said Johnson stopped and
started walked back toward him. Christian appeared on his stairwell and started coming down the
stairwell. He was on the landing where the stairwell turned. Garrett said Christian had a hammer in his
left hand and held another implement that looked like a “straight pipe, or stake, or ice pick, or something
in his left hand as well. And in his right hand he had a large black knife.”
Garrett said he told Officer Johnson that Christian had a knife in his right hand. Johnson walked back to

Garrett, and Garrett started verbal commands to Christian, using his first name, and told him to “put
everything on the ground, empty his hands, drop the knife.” He said that at one point Christian responded
to him after he told him to empty his hands and drop the knife.
According to Garrett, Christian said they were going to have to “ ‘come get it’ ” or “ ‘come get me.’ One of
those two.” Christian continued to say something else as he walked back up the stairs to his residence,
but Garrett couldn’t understand what he was saying.
Garrett said he and Officer Johnson discuss requesting additional help. Johnson radioed for two more
units code 3. At that time Christian came down the stairs to ground level still carrying the knife, hammer,
and “whatever that third metal pointed object was, in his left hand.”
Garrett said he addressed Christian again by his name, telling him to drop the knife and empty his hands.
Christian responded by saying no. Garrett said he notified dispatch that they had one at gunpoint. He
said by this time he’d drawn his weapon and had it at the “high ready” and had it pointed at Christian. He
said he told dispatch they had one at gunpoint and the suspect was holding a knife. He said he continued
giving verbal commands to drop the knife and Christian continued to tell him no. According to Garrett,
Christian walked from his apartment stairwell into the center of the parking lot. He was still not listening to
commands nor is he dropping any of the weapons/objects.
Garrett said Christian turned the knife toward himself and put it to his abdomen and appeared to be
pressing it into his abdomen. Garrett told him to drop the knife again but Christian didn’t do so. Officer
Johnson then changed positions from where he was to Garrett’s right-hand side.
Christian faced Garrett and Officer Johnson and raised the “hammer and metal object in his left hand and
the knife in his right, raises it, kinda starts aggressing us but then turns it into a run.” Garrett said
Christian was saying something but he couldn’t understand him.
Garrett said Christian aggressed them “all the way.” Both he and Johnson had their guns raised and
pointed at him. Garrett said he believed Christian had entered approximately two parking spaces away
from him before he and Johnson discharged their duty weapons.
Garrett said Johnson shot first and he shot immediately after. He believed he shot four to six times,
though it could be more or less. He said Christian fell to the ground his feet away from them. The
hammer, knife, and metal object were still in arms reach. Garrett kicked the objects way for safety as they
were preparing to give medical aid.
Garrett gloved up and retrieved a medical kit from Johnson’s patrol vehicle. A couple of witnesses asked
if they needed anything. Johnson asked one of them for medical, and one provided a med kit. Boise
Police Lieutenant Josiah Ransom arrived on scene next and brought a medical kit, but Ransom stated
the Christian was deceased so no aid was rendered.
Lieutenant Ransom took over command and secured the scene. He asked them to turn their body

COMMANDS GIVEN:
Garrett said he told the suspect to place the items on the ground, empty his hands, and put the knife
down. He said it was a variation or combination of those commands that he gave and he may have given
those commands approximately seven times. He said he gave the commands in a clear, loud, and stern
voice. He said his commands were loud enough the suspect heard them because the suspect responded
by saying they’d have to “come get them.” The suspect continued to tell Garrett no after every command
after he got to the bottom of the stairs. He believed Johnson said to put the knife down as well.
Garrett said that he and Officer Johnson were the only officers there at the time of the incident until
Lieutenant Ransom arrived on scene.
CRIMES SUSPECT COMMITTED PRIOR TO THE USE OF DEADLY FORCE:
Garrett said the suspect called the police saying he wanted to go to jail for possession of meth, so
possible possession. He appeared intoxicated and slurring words, erratic behavior, so possible public
intoxication. Suspect was not listening to commands, so resist and obstruct. And aggravated assault on
law enforcement as he charged them with the knife.
PRIOR SUSPECT CONTACT AND AREA CRIMES:
Regarding Garrett’s prior contact with Christian, he said it was only one time. He wasn’t sure if it was his
Monday night shift where he would have contacted him on Tuesday morning or if it was his Tuesday
night shift where he would have contacted Christian on Wednesday morning. He said it was likely within
the prior forty-eight hours that he had contact with Christian and Christian had informed him he had not
been sleeping and showing signs of paranoia and told Garrett he was paranoid. Christian told Garrett he
was abusing meth and that he was going to go to rehab the following day.
Garrett said that he had tried to talk to Christian over land line and the Christian told him he was going to
get in the shower and get ready before he left. Christian had stopped answering, so Garrett went to the
apartment in person. When Christian answered the door, Garrett thought Christian had just gotten out of
the shower because his hair and body were wet, however Christian told him he was just extremely
sweaty. So Garrett straight up asked him if he’d been using meth, and Christian said he had. Christian
also said he had not been sleeping.
Garrett said he knew about Christian’s history of resisting and obstructing due to previous reports that he
had looked up.
THREATENING BEHAVIOR:
Garrett said the threatening behavior was Christian’s erratic behavior and aggression toward them, failure
to comply with commands and the very large knife, hammer, and spike in his hands as he aggressed
them. He said his concern was that Christian would stab him, his partner, or any other civilians inside the

CRIME SCENE:
Garrett said that after they discharged their weapons he had kicked the knife, hammer, and metal object
out of Christian’s reach before they planned on giving medical aid. Other than that, he said he did nothing
to alter the scene.
WEATHER:
Garrett said it was clear and sunny, not overly hot. He did not feel the weather affected the way the
incident played out.
SUSPECT OPTIONS:
According to Garrett, the suspect could have given up or stopped the incident from the very beginning,
during their initial contact as he walked down the stairs with the knife and hammer. He said they
immediately told him to drop the weapons and empty his hands. The suspect did not comply then nor did
he comply when Garrett issued multiple commands (approximately seven) to which the suspect told him
No. Garrett said he had plenty of time to comply and drop the weapons and not aggress them.
CLARIFICATION QUESTIONS:
Garrett said his intent upon discharging his firearm was to end the threat of the suspect aggressing them,
to protect himself and his partner.
I asked Garrett about his shots after the suspect had fallen to the ground. He said as the suspect
aggressed and got closer, his plan was to shoot as many times as [he] could to end the threat, and as he
went to the ground it continued.” He said as soon as he was able to stop, he stopped. He confirmed that
his intent was just to stop the threat.
CLARIFICATION QUESTION CHRIS WIRSHING:
Detective Wirshing asked Garrett to explain what the suspect’s run and aggressing looked like. Garrett
said that if he were to estimate, the suspect was fifteen to twenty yards away where he had walked out
into the center of parking lot. While the suspect was there, he had the knife to his abdomen. The suspect
stopped and faced them and squared his shoulders up with them. The suspect “raised the knife away
from his body up in the air. He took his left hand that had the hammer and whatever that spiked metal
object was, raised that in the air. He then said something or just started yelling or something, something
along those lines.” Garrett said he couldn’t understand the suspect.
Garrett said the suspect “started at like a slower pace, um, coming towards us, but then turned into like a
jog or a run. Um, and I would say it was a direct line towards us, uh, still with all three weapons raised in
the air, um, yelling at us. And, um, like I said, he's, you know, he got pretty, I don't know how far a
parking space is, I guess it would be about six feet and he probably entered that second parking space,

CLARIFICATION QUESTIONS JOE MALLET:
Regarding size comparison, Garrett said he the guessed the suspect was over six feet and approximately
two hundred and forty or fifty pounds, which he said was much bigger than him in stature.
Regarding the hammer, knife, and sharp metal object, and the speed with which the suspect was
approaching him, Garrett confirmed that he felt his life was in danger. He said that if he would not have
shot, the suspect would stabbed Officer Johnson or hit him with the hammer or do the same to him.
Garrett said one of them would have been pretty gravely injured.
When Garrett was asked if Andy Johnson would not have fired his weapon, would he have still fired his,
he said yes.
Referring to the contact Garrett had with Christian the day or two prior, Garrett said when Christian told
him he had been smoking meth, he asked him if he still had meth on him. According to Garrett, Christian
told him he did not have meth on him.
Garrett said he knew nothing about a gun at his previous contact with Christian. However, when he
arrived on scene during the this incident, dispatch had put in the call notes that Christian had re-land
lined asking when law enforcement was going to be there and that he had also mentioned something
about a gun. Garrett said he read that note as he was rolling up to the scene. He also said Johnson
heard Christian yelling something about a gun.
When asked if he and Johnson had just got into their cars and left would there still have been a danger to
other citizens in that area, Garrett said he believed so due to the fact the suspect was running around
outside his apartment with three possibly deadly weapons, showing signs of erratic behavior, extremely
paranoid about someone trying to get into his house or something of that nature. Garrett believed that if
they had left, the suspect in his possible intoxicated state, mental health, and paranoia, he could have
believed that anyone he saw was one of the people trying to enter his residence.
FOLLOW-UP:
I asked Garrett about when the suspect had turned the knife toward himself. Garrett said he had walked
to the center of the parking lot yelling something. Prior to that the suspect was telling saying “ ‘No, no,
no’ ” when Garrett was telling him to drop the knife. The suspect turned the knife to his stomach and
looked as if he was physically pressing it into his stomach and then stopped, pulled it away, and turned
toward Garrett and Officer Johnson, raised it in the air along with the hammer and the metal spike and
ran toward them.
Garrett said that when the suspect pointed the knife to his stomach he had concerns that the suspect
was a threat to himself. The suspect then became a threat to Garrett.

CONTACT WITH 8/3/2023:
I responded to the critical incident scene to attempt contact with , who we had
determined was the person Christian Johnson was living with. No one was at apartment and the
door was open, but Lieutenant Ransom told me that officers had made a protective sweep of the
apartment and the door was left open as it was found.
I had been attempting to contact by phone but it kept going to voice mail or not connecting at all. I
attempted to contact a to see if I could get a better number for but at
the time there was no answer. I later learned from that she works at the
and that she turns her phone off when she's at work.
eventually showed up at the apartment complex. She was unaware of the situation with Christian.
I spoke with her and advised her that Christian was deceased. became upset. She allowed
Detective Rackley and I to enter her apartment, where I spoke with her about Christian and gave an
overview of the investigation.
told me Christian had been thinking the neighbor downstairs was trying to kill him and there were
people there who were trying to kill him. She said he kept contacting the police.
According to Christian was on the lease for the apartment. But she said he went to the rescue
mission because of his drinking problem. She said in the last message she received from him, he said he
was at the mission. read one of the messages where he said he was at the mission and wouldn't
be back until the end of September. She didn't seem to understand why he would be at the apartment. (I
photographed all the messages she had on her phone between her and Christian.)
According to Christian's main abuse issue was with alcohol, but she said he might have been
taking something.
said Christian has never made physical threats toward her, but she said his behavior was getting
strange toward the end. She said he did things that were out of character for him, though not really bad
things. She cited one time when they went shopping somewhere and he just left her there with the
groceries. She said another time he sold some magazines she had that she really liked, but he just sold
them. She said it wasn't characteristic of him to do those things.

Although asked if Christian's family had been notified, she had little information about his family.
She gave us a phone number for Christian's but she did not know how to contact .
Regarding the door to the apartment being open, I explained that was how it was found and that officers
did a protective sweep of the apartment. told us that Christian had been having this feeling that
someone was trying to kill him. She suggested he probably wasn't threatening the officers but he was
probably just holding "it." She suggested he probably called the police because he wanted to speak to
them.
said Christian had knives in the apartment for "hunting or doing something." She said he didn't
have a gun. She said again that he kept thinking people were trying to kill him. She said he trusted the
police and that his . She said Christian was in
prison a lot and he had problems, but she suggested the police must have just thought he was
threatening them. She said he was probably going out just to talk to them.
Although said that Christian could have been suffering from some paranoia, she still didn't believe
he would have done anything to harm the police. She felt Christian was just afraid.
I asked if she would allow us to look through the house. She signed a consent to search form and

told me that Christian couldn't stop drinking and using alcohol when I asked how their relationship
was. According to Christian had been drinking "vodka juice things that you get in a can." But then
she said he hadn't been drinking that much. She said he told her he had been using amphetamines the
day before. She said she didn't know where he got those. She said she wasn't sure if it was meth, but
she said he was up all night.

asked her if Christian was ever suicidal, and she said he would threaten it sometimes.
said that a long time ago there was a girl near the Riverside whom Christian had met and then
she was murdered a few days later. She said he was arrested and in jail for six to eight months but after
a DNA test the police learned he wasn't responsible and so they let him go but later the real suspect was
found. She said Christian got harassed all the time. She blamed it on him having a record. She said most
of his issues with the law were DUIs.

he started "getting weird" because he was afraid he was probably going to go to prison. said that

According to Christian kept calling the police and thought they weren't taking him seriously and
maybe were thinking he was crazy. She said there would be nothing in the apartment like weapons or
anything like that. I told her one of the things we might look for would be something like a suicide note.

wanted to go into "that program," and he missed her. She said she wouldn't rule out the possibility of
suicide.

On 08-03-2023 at 11:34 hours I was notified of an Officer involved shooting in Boise. I am a
member of the Critical Incident Task Force (C.I.T.F.). My assignment is to supervise the
investigation at the scene of the incident. I arrived at the scene location of
.
I could see that Boise Police Officers had the area taped off with an outer and inner perimeter.
They had also staged media outside of the taped off area. The scene was in the parking lot of an
apartment complex. This area was surrounded by other apartment complexes and businesses.
I first met with Det. Ransom with Boise Police. I was advised that two Boise Police Officers had
responded to a 911 call and made contact with Christian Johnson (54). I was told that Officers
were confronted by Johnson who was armed and advancing them while ignoring commands to
drop the knife. I was told both officers fired their duty weapons and Johnson fell to the ground
and died as a result.
I could see the suspect Christian Johnson's body laying on the ground in the parking lot of the
apartment complex. He was laying on his back at the entrance of parking space # I was told
Johnson had fallen face forward but was rolled over onto his back by officers. It appeared to me
that some sort of life saving measures had been attempted, because I could see medical
bandages laying on the ground near the body. I could see blood on the pavement had pooled and
traveled under a parked car. This vehicle was a 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer bearing Idaho license
plate number and was unattended.
During my time on scene an Ada County Sheriff's drone was requested to obtain aerial
photographs and video of Johnson's body and the surrounding area. An area canvas of the
apartments and adjacent properties was assigned to five Idaho State Police Officers (unknown
names) and two Meridian Property Crimes Detectives (M. Ferronato and J. Churchfield). Two

Meridian Evidence Technicians (C. Boyes and M. Moeller), A community Service Officer (K.
Gossage) and one Impact Detective (J. Whilden) were assigned to Evidence documentation and
collection. Two Meridian Persons Crimes Detectives (J. Fuller and C. Rackley) were assigned to
investigate the scene. Once all of the photo documentation was complete, detectives and
Evidence Technicians began to collect shell casings and weapons. A third Meridian Police
Detective (E. Stoffle) arrived and assisted with searching the apartment of the suspect and
interviewing the suspect's ).
Once the evidence was collected and all interviews were done, the Ada County Coroner arrived
and took possession of the suspect's body. I contacted a company called Bio-One to respond and
clean the blood off of the pavement. Bio-One arrived and two of their technicians used chemicals
to neutralize the blood and wiped everything clean, then washed it down. During this process I
had to allow two individuals ( ) into the scene. They owned the
blue Mitsubishi Lancer located in space # They were asked to move their car so the Bio-One
technicians could remove the blood from the driver's side tires and the area under the vehicle. At
this point in the investigation we opened the scene back up to the public.

3. could hear a "Guy" yelling down at the officers, and noticed he was standing out on the patio of his
apartment. had been working in the complex for the previous three weeks and was familiar with "Guy."
said, "he was a little different." was unsure what the "Guy" was yelling and thought it was
something about dead and death.
4. walked into the apartment complex office and assumed since the police were there, the police had
everything under control. As went to leave the office, he saw the "Guy" running down the stairs of his
apartment complex, with what thought was two machetes. The "Guy" was beating on his chest, and said
something about his heart, causing to believe the "Guy" was going to take his own life.
5. saw the "Guy" take a couple of step towards the officers, at which point turned around because
he thought the "Guy" was going to get shot, and he didn’t want to see it. After approximately ten seconds,
heard approximately five gun shots. Based on the "Guy’s" actions, thought the "Guy" was trying to commit
suicide by-cop. estimated the "Guy" was close to the dumpster in the parking lot, and the officers were on
the other side of it, when the "Guy" headed towards the officers direction.
6. I secured the audio recording of the interview into evidence at the Idaho State Police District 3 Office. For

edge.
4. The "Guy" continued screaming at the officers and began walking towards them, near the dumpster in the
complex parking lot. The officers were trying to calm the "Guy" down, however; couldn’t hear what the
officers were saying. The "Guy" had walked behind something in the complex parking lot and briefly lost
sight of him. walked down the sidewalk to get a better look at what was happening, and saw the "Guy"
running towards the officers. estimated the "Guy’ was approximately twenty feet from the officers when he
ran at them, and he was approximately ten feet from the officers when both officers shot him. thought both
officers fired approximately five or six shots.

speak or understand English. Boise Police Officer B. Rock translated the interview for us. saw police
cars in the area and a guy yelling with tools in his hands. He did not know what the guy was saying. The guy with
the tools in his hands came down the stairs and kept walking away from the area when he heard about
four gunshots. After he heard the gunshots, he saw the guy on the ground. heard the police yelling
something at the guy who was shot but he could not understand what they were saying. After the interview, I
collected Boise Police Officer Rock’s notes.

did not see the incident, but she did hear gunshots while she was working with some customers. She told us
about two weeks prior there was an issue with the guy who was shot (JOHNSON). JOHNSON had broken out the
back window of a vehicle that was parked in the parking lot of the and cops were called
to help. She was not surprised JOHNSON was shot by police.

1. On August 3rd, 2023, Idaho State Police Detectives responded to an Officer Involved Shooting, involving Boise

5. At approximately 11:30 A.M., he was pulling into the apartment complex from work when he saw two cops in
the parking lot. The cops were yelling at a guy (Christian JOHNSON) who was on the balcony of a neighboring
apartment building. JOHNSON was yelling back at the cops, and he could see JOHNSON had a hammer in one
hand and he thought there was a knife in the other hand. He described JOHNSON as very erratic.
6. It looked like the cops had a good distance from JOHNSON which he thought might be to avoid anything
JOHNSON could throw at them.
7. JOHNSON ran down the stairs to the parking lot towards the cops. One of the cops had a taser out and the
other cop had a gun out. The cop who had the taser out, put the taser away and drew his gun out. Both cops told
JOHNSON to drop the weapons multiple times. JOHNSON charged the cops with the weapons and the cops had
to shoot JOHNSON.
8. The cops did not perform any CPR or first aid.
9. He showed us a video he recorded on his phone. The video showed JOHNSON running towards the Boise
Police Officers (BPD) and the BPD Officers shooting JOHNSON.

investigation. Idaho State Police Detectives responded to assist the Meridian Police Department and were
assigned to canvass the area.

On August 3, 2023 at about 1122 hours, I heard over primary radio (Channel 16) of an Officer Involved Shooting at
Boise, Ada County, Idaho. I responded to for First Contact Duties.
First Contact:
I met with Boise Police Detective Roath, Boise Police Detective Jagosh, Boise Police Detective Krueger, Meridian Police Detective
Caygle, Meridian Police Detective Wear, and Meridian Police Detective Rhoades.
I was tasked with taking photographs of Officer Miller. I provided a copy of the photographs to Detective Rhoades. I downloaded my

Narrative:
On 08/03/2023 I was working in my assigned position as a Major Crimes Detective in the
Criminal Investigations Division (CID) at the Ada County Sheriff’s Office. I was contacted by
Sergeant Weires and asked to respond to an apartment complex located at in
Boise, Idaho to assist with a Critical Incident Task Force (CITF) investigation. I was told Boise
Police Department (BPD) Officers had been in an Officer involved shooting and was asked to
take aerial photos with a drone of the scene.
I arrived on-scene at approximately 1230 hours. I was briefed by on-scene detectives. I took
multiple aerial photographs of the scene. It should be noted the drone I used to take the
photographs and video, captures a color image and a thermal image for each photograph. It
should also be noted when I downloaded the photographs, I notice the date and time stamps for
the photographs. The date indicated was 08/04/2023 (should be 08/03/2023) and the time
started at 0525 hours (should be 1250 hours).
I have added all the photographs, including the thermal photographs to this report as
attachments.
