• Executed the planning, implementation, and leading of nature interpretation programs for children ages
4-15.
• Studied and communicated knowledge of Maryland’s Natural History such as local Ornithology,
Botany, and Aquatic Biodiversity of the Chesapeake Bay through collaboration with Maryland
Naturalists.
• Surveyed and recorded data on Monarch Butterfly eggs and Milkweed Plants for the “Monarch Butterfly
Larva Project” (Citizen Science Project).
• Captured, identified, and recorded data on dragonfly larvae across three locations in Flag Ponds Nature
Park and Battle Creek Cypress Swamp Nature Preserve for the “Dragonfly Mercury Project” (National
Park Service and Citizen Science Project).
• Assisted in the capture and banding of birds at Ward Farm, Maryland for the M.A.P.S. Bird Banding
Program (Monitoring Avian Production and Survivorship).
• Assisted Naturalists and participants in finding, handling, and photographing spawning horseshoe crabs
during the program “Horseshoe Crab Campout” event.
• Obtained Certifications in Adult and Pediatric First Aid.
• Executed daily Nature Center operations such as feeding, cleaning, and monitoring three turtles, two
terrapins, grey tree frogs, and raptors such as barred owls, red-tailed-hawks, and barn owls.
• Conducting water quality monitoring tests on aquatic organism tanks weekly including Nitrite testing,
Ammonia testing, pH testing, & Salinity testing.
• Assisted guests in finding park buildings, informing them about ongoing park projects and events, and
assisting with check-in procedures at the entrance gate.
• Executed walks and exercise plans with pet residents several times daily.
• Fed all pet residents based on the owner’s meal plan and administered oral/topical medications as
needed.
• Assisted our resident groomer in grooming practices such as nail trimming, restraint methods, bathing
procedures, drying procedures, and haircuts.
• Processed payment methods and executed check-in and check-out procedures for new and returning
customers and pets.
• Assisted the manager in training new employees on sanitization procedures, play time, meal plans, and
desk duties.
• Sanitized indoor and outdoor animal quarters several times a day.
• Assisted customers in scheduling and reserving appointments and grooming over the phone and in
person.
• Analyzed pet veterinary records to determine boarding eligibility.
• Led customers and visitors on tours throughout the facility while answering any questions.
