His Excellency,
The Executive Governor of Anambra State.
Government House Complex
Awka, Anambra State.

Through
The Honourable Commissioner of Transport
Anambra State Ministry,
Jerome Complex, Awka.

Dear Sir,
PAYMENT OF PREMIUM ON GLOBAL ALL RISK INSURANCE COVERAGE
CRITICAL AND VALUABLE ASSETS OF ANAMBRA STATE AIRPORT
INSURED: ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNMENT.
We respectfully write to appeal for the intervention of the
Honorable Commissioner of Transport in respect of payment due
on insurance premium of Global All Risk Insurance coverage
provided by consortium of Three underwriters and two insurance
brokers in the sum of N110, 388,065.56 ( One Hundred and
Ten Million Three Hundred and Eighty Eight Thousand and Sixty
Five Naira and Fifty Six Kobo) only on critical and valuable assets
of Anambra State Airport
Sometime in April last year, we were contacted by The State
Government to provide insurance coverage for the newly built
airport in compliance with the Aviation Regulations, we selected a
consortium of highly rated and reputable underwriters with
impeccable records of claims settlement and required experience
in aviation insurance together with required capacity to provide
coverage to grant cover to the State Government after due
consultation with various relevant officers of the state to establish
description of risk in terms of vulnerability, exposure and
quantum in October 2021 and as a condition precedent to the
launch of the airport.
We also engaged the professional international risk assessor and
risk valuer to assist in arriving at appropriate description of risk
and value for each component of the coverage provided to
Anambra state Government to enable them meet with insurance
requirement for the launch of the state airport by last year.
However the premium was approved for payment but we were
not able to receive same before the administration left office.
We had since then pursue payment of the said premium to no
avail until we met and had a meeting with the Honorable
Secretary to the state Government in June this year. The
outcome of the meeting is the downward review of premium
from N224,888,046.86 to N110, 388,065.56 ( One Hundred and
Ten Million Three Hundred and Eighty Eight Thousand and Sixty
Five Naira and Fifty Six Kobo) due to fact that the current
activities at the Airport vis a vis values placed on Third Party
Property Damage and Third Party bodily injury and death
exposure may not be as high as the cover provided.
We have been waiting for the payment of the agreed sum since
we submitted our letter in agreement to the downward review of
N110, 388,065.56 ( One Hundred and Ten Million Three Hundred
and Eighty Eight Thousand and Sixty Five Naira and Fifty Six
Kobo) being the agreed settlement premium on the above
insurance coverage.
We are pleased to attach the following document for your kind
consideration and approval.
