Rugby is about two teams of fifteen or seven players each, practising fair play according
to the Laws and the spirit of sportsmanship, carrying, passing, kicking, and supporting
the ball, scoring as many points as possible. The team that scores the most points will be
the winner of the match.

Rules:

Rugby is a sport with rules established by World Rugby, the international federation
overseeing the game. Here is a summary of some basic rugby rules:

Objective of the game: Rugby aims to score more points than the opposing team. This
is achieved by carrying the ball beyond the opponent's goal line and scoring a "try" (5
points). After a try, the team has the opportunity to score additional points through a
conversion.

Teams: Each team consists of 15 players in the rugby union version (there is also a
variant called rugby league with slightly different rules).

Ball: The ball used in rugby is oval-shaped.

Game start: The game begins with a kick-off at the centre of the field. It also restarts
after each try.

Formations and scrum: The game restarts with a scrum when certain infractions occur
or when the ball goes out of bounds. In a scrum, players from both teams face off and
compete for possession of the ball.

Line-out: When the ball goes out of bounds, the game restarts with a line-out, where
players throw the ball at a right angle from the sideline.

Passing and forward play: Passes can only be made backward or laterally. A forward
pass is an infringement.

Tackles: Players can stop the opponent by tackling them. After a tackle, the game
continues with a ruck or a maul, depending on the situation.

Ruck and maul: A ruck occurs when the ball is on the ground, and players from both
teams compete for possession. A maul is similar, but players are standing and forming a
sort of wall around the ball.

Penalties and infringements: Various actions, such as dangerous tackles, obstruction,

high tackles, etc., are penalised. Penalties can lead to goal kicks, kicks to touch, or
scrums, depending on the situation.

Cards: Referees may show yellow or red cards as punishment for serious offences.
