Audioscripts E Listening Listen to friends Aisha and Zak, talking about Aisha’s trip to Amsterdam for a wedding. Choose the correct answer for each question. 1 Boy How was Amsterdam, Aisha? Does it take hours to get there? Girl Not if you fly, like we did. In fact, I wanted to stay on the plane longer. There were big groups of people, so it was busy and fun. But I’m not sure my parents felt the same – they like quiet journeys! Boy How was your hotel? Girl Good. From my window on the tenth floor I could see the pool, but of course that’s only used in summer. I could also see the city, which I was pleased about. The buildings are fantastic – I took some brilliant photos. We were some way from the centre, but Amsterdam has good transport, so it was fine. Boy Better transport than in our city? Girl Definitely. There are trams, which we don’t have, and of course the boats, because of all the beautiful canals. But if you go there, rent a bike. It’s quicker than anything else. Boy When was your cousin’s wedding? Girl On Saturday afternoon. But I wanted to do other things too, so in the morning we visited a market. We’d just got back to the hotel when my grandparents phoned. They were staying with my aunt and wanted us to pick them up on our way to the wedding. We got there just in time. The wedding was OK. I don’t know my cousin well because she lives in Amsterdam. But she was friendly to me, and she looked really happy. Boy What did you do on Sunday? Girl Oh, Sunday was the best day, because we were free to do whatever we wanted. Dad loves museums, but I wanted to go to a park. Then Mum suggested a walking tour with a guide, so we could see the whole city. We all loved it! Boy It sounds like you had a great weekend!
