English Department confers an annual award on professors with outstanding contributions to

teaching, scholarly research, and other educational services. A nomination form is sent to

colleagues and students every year, which can be completed and submitted anytime on or before

July 31.

Nomination requirements

This is a career award that acknowledges and appreciates professors’ record of service to the

faculty. One faculty member from the department will be selected every year. The nominee must

be a faculty member at the time of nomination and hold a minimum of two years of experience.

They will demonstrate exemplary performance in teaching and a record of excellent research.

The reason for nomination must be clearly stated by the students or the colleagues who know the

nominee.

Selection process

The Outstanding Professor Award committee considers all the nomination forms and makes a

final decision. The recipient of the award will be informed in writing, and they will be asked to

send a CV and a research dossier.

Bestowing the award

Nominated professors will receive a certificate of recognition and a $1000 research grant. The

Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science will invite them to the end-of-year events of all

departments so that they will be recognized publicly.
