A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has barred members of the Rivers State House

Capital Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike, from parading themselves as members of the Assembly.

Justice Charles Nwali, who gave the interim order on Friday in a motion ex-parte brought before
him, also gave an order restraining the defendants from dealing with, interfacing, accepting any
resolutions, bills as members of the House of Assembly pending the hearing and determination
of the motion on notice.

Headline: (MINOR) Judge tells Ex-Gov Bello “Even if my order was made in error you must
appear in court”
Intro : Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Friday, granted the application
by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for the former Governor of Kogi,
Alhaji Yahaya Bello, to appear in court to take his plea before any of his application can be
heard.

Nwite reiterated in a ruling that an applicant or defendant who willfully disobeys the orders of a
court of competent jurisdiction is not entitled to be heard by the court.

The judge while holding that, even if his orders were issued in error, “the humble thing for him
to do is to make himself available in court”.

Headline : (MINOR) Bandits invade Kogi varsity abduct many students.
Intro : Some fully armed bandits have invaded Kogi State University of Science and Technology
Osara and kidnapped unspecified number of students on Thursday night.

According to eyewitness accounts, the Bandits in their large numbers entered the school around 9
pm through the bush path and started shooting sporadically into the school premises.
The school’s local security displayed gallantry as they engaged the hoodlums in gun duel that
lasted for over 30 minutes.
