1.1 Brief introduction of product appearance

LED floodlight: Supply the working environment lighting

Floodlight button: Hold the button to turn on the flashlight. Loosen the button to turn off it.

Photo button: Press the button to save the current image (This button has no image analysis

function).

Focusing handwheel: Used for focusing the measured object.

Adapter nut: Used for locking the adapter（Different adapters are available for this product）.

Power button: Hold the button to start the machine.

Battery cap: Used for protecting battery. Remove the cap to replace the battery.

WIFI/USB switching switch: Switch to “on” to turn on the WIFI connection. Switch to “off” to

turn off the WIFI connection and turn the USB connection on.

USB interface: Used for charging and USB connection.

Battery indicator: Display remaining power and flash when charging.

WIFI indicator: The WIFI indicator turns red (WIFI is starting.) and after a few seconds the

indicator turns yellow (WIFI is started.).

Picture rotation: The real-time screen can be rotated 90°, 180° and 270°.
Parameter setting: Set the basic parameters of the software.
Recording: Record video mode.
Photograph: Photo mode.
Photo folder: Store recorded video and photos taken
Photo button: Shooting real-time images (capture images without analysis and judgment).
Image analysis button: The software is used to analyze and label the dirty spots on the
image, and the judgment results are given at the same time.

1.3 Optical fiber end area division and testing standards

1) Optical fiber core area A: The area of 0-9µm in diameter. The smudges are marked in red.
2) Optical fiber core area B: The area of 9-25µm in diameter. The smudges are marked in red.
3) Cladding area: The area of 25-125µm in diameter. The smudges are marked in yellow.
4) Cohesive zone: The area of 125-130µm in diameter.
5) Core insertion area: The area of 130-250µm in diameter. The smudges are marked in blue.

Test reference standards for each area:

1) Optical fiber core area A: No dirt or defects allowed.
2) Optical fiber core area B: No dirt or defects allowed.
3) Cladding area: Allow 1 white scratch or black and white smudge (diameter<1µm).
4) Core insertion area: Allow 2 white scratch or black and white smudge (diameter<1µm).

1.4 Quick use steps
1) Scan the QR code and install the mobile APP (Agree to all permission requests for the
software when installing. If software was unable to analyze results, please enter the list of
applications on the phone and activate “store permissions” for the software).

2) Remove the dust cover and make sure the adapter nut is locked.
3) Hold the power button until the battery level indicator is lighted up.
4) Turn the WIFI/USB switching switch to “on”. The WIFI indicator turns red (WIFI is starting.)
and after a few seconds the indicator turns yellow (WIFI is started.).
5) Enter the list of WLANs on the phone and select the WIFI device as shown in the red box
below. (Each product has a different WIFI device name in the WLAN list. Please select the
new device name.).

6) If users need a password to connect to the device at the first time, pleas enter 88888888
as the password.
7) Start the APP after completing the connection with the device.

10) Users need to adjust parameters before using image analysis.
(1) Click the icon on the software interface to enter the setting menu, as shown
below：

(2) Click “Identification parameter setting” to enter the menu of parameter setting as
shown below:

Change the parameters from 1-8 to 1-9, then pull down the current page to the end, and
click “ok”.
11) At this point, users can take a photo to save the image, or click the image analysis button
to automatically analyze the image.

12) Hold the “floodlight button” on the product to turn on the flashlight. Loosen the button
to turn off the floodlight.
13) Press the “Photo button” to take a photo and save the image, the phone can be heard
taking photos. (Note: Software image processing takes a certain amount of time, usually 1-3
seconds. But different types of phones take different amounts of time to process, and if the
image is dirty, it can take longer. Therefore, after the user clicks the "image analysis button",
it needs to wait for a period of time until the analysis screen appears.).

14) View and share images
(1) Method 1:
Click "photo folder" button in the software interface to enter the image file
browsing interface, as shown below:

Long press the selected picture, it can be Shared to QQ, WeChat and other
communication software in the pop-up window. Click the "photo" button to select
video files that have been recorded.
(2) Method 2:
When the APP is installed, it automatically creates a folder named "eCamera" in the
root directory, as shown below:

This folder contains two subfolders: "snap" and "record." Among them, "snap" stores
photos and "record" stores video, which allows users to directly share files.

1.5 Attentions
1) When inserting ceramic ferrule (optical fiber patch cord/cable) into the adapter, please be
sure to insert it vertically. After insertion try to ensure that the adapter and ceramic ferrule

coaxial. Do not bend the adapter too much, or it will damage the optical fiber patch
cord/cable.
2) When using the "focusing handwheel", stop rotating immediately if too much resistance is
found to rotate, because the lens has reached its travel limit, and further rotation will cause
damage to the equipment.
3) The adapter of this product is equipped with dust cap. After removing the dust cap, the
user should ensure that the lock nut of the adapter is locked, otherwise the image definition
will be unstable.
4) The lithium battery of this product should not be plugged and unplugged frequently,
otherwise the interface may be damaged easily.
5) When changing the adapter, do not touch the optical lens to ensure that the adapter and
device bonding surface is dust free. After changing, try to ensure that the optical fiber image
is in the center of the screen. If the fiber optic image deviates significantly from the center
area, rotate the adapter appropriately and then lock the nut. If the fiber optic image is out of
screen range, please contact the manufacturer.
6) If it is idle for a long time, it is better to store it in the instrument box and try to keep the
environment dry.
7) The software can only detect images of single-mode fiber (outer diameter: 125um, core
diameter: 9um). If it is used to detect other types of fiber (including single-mode fiber array),
the software will crash.
8) Before using the software's automatic analysis and judgment function, the image should
be as clear as possible. Users can set the judgment conditions, as shown in section 2.2.
9) Only one mobile phone can be connected to one device. If connected to more than two
mobile phones, the image will be severely jammed.

1.6 Exception handling
1) There are no images in the software interface.

① First, make sure the WIFI indicator turns yellow.

② Then, close the APP and restart the APP(Note: closing the APP is to end the
program, not to exit the program. For example, When using a Samsung phone, press
the left button and then click “close all apps”.).
③ If there is still no image, please turn off the device and restart to connect
again.

2) WIFI has been connected, but the APP cannot connect to the device for a long time.

① First, make sure the WIFI indicator turns yellow.

② Then, close the APP and restart the APP(Note: closing the APP is to end the
program, not to exit the program. For example, When using a Samsung phone, press
the left button and then click “close all apps”.).
③ If there is still no image, please turn off the device and restart to connect
again.

3) The image is not in the middle of the screen.

① Loosen the adapter lock nut, rotate the adapter by an Angle, and lock the
nut again.
② If the deviation is still large, please remove the adapter and wipe the binding
surface of the adapter and the device with a brush or clean paper towel to ensure
that the binding surface is free of dust.

3) There is dust on the image, and it cannot be erased.

① Rotate the device or optical fiber patch cord/cable, and if dust is found
rotating along with the fiber image, it is dust on the end of the fiber.
② Rotating equipment or optical fiber patch cord/cable, if the dust position
is found fixed, it is the dust on the lens surface. Remove the connector and
wipe the lens surface with a clean cloth dipped in alcohol.

 2 Detailed instructions
2.1 Hardware operating
2.1.1 Performance characteristics and parameters
1) This product has high performance optical components and high-resolution photosensitive
chip, and its imaging clarity is the best in China. No matter dirt, scratches and apron can be
clearly shown.
2) We can provide a variety of adapter interface for users to meet various occasions of
optical fiber end face detection.
3) The ultra-precise focusing handwheel allows the user to see every detail accurately.
4) With WIFI and USB two image transmission modes, it can connect to mobile phone, tablet,
laptop, PC and OTDR.
5) WIFI connection speed is faster than other similar products in China.
6) The product has the function of taking photos and floodlight, users can record the end
screen of optical fiber at will in dark environment.

2.1.2 Indicators

WIFI indicator Status

Indicator turns red. WIFI is starting.
Indicator turns yellow. WIFI is started.
Battery indicator Status

The indicator is bright and does not flash. Product is starting up.
The indicator is bright and flickering. The battery is charging.
The one on the far left is flickering. Low battery need to charge.

2.1.3 WIFI connection

1) Hold the power button until the battery level indicator is lighted up.
2) Turn the WIFI/USB switching switch to “on”. The WIFI indicator turns red (WIFI is starting.)
and after a few seconds the indicator turns yellow (WIFI is started.).

2.1.4 USB connection

1) Hold the power button until the battery level indicator is lighted up.
2) Turn the WIFI/USB switching switch to “off”. Currently, only the power indicator is on.
3) Insert the MICO connector of USB cable into the USB interface of this device, and connect

the other end to relevant devices.

2.1.5 Replace the adaptor

1) Unscrew the lock nut and remove the adapter.

2) Replace other adapters and lock nuts (Note: when replacing the adapter, make sure that
there are no dust particles on the bonding surface between the adapter and the device,
otherwise the image will be shifted.).

2.1.6 Replace the battery

1) Remove the battery cap.

2) Clamp the battery connector with tweezers and pull it out slowly.
3) When the new battery is installed, the raised part of the battery must be tilted downward
into the equipment, otherwise it is easy to damage the circuit.
4) Cover the battery cap and tighten the screws.

2.2 Settings
2.2.1 Home page of settings

1) Channel: It means the channel of WIFI communication. There are 11 channels to choose
from, and the default setting is channel 3. Generally, there is no need to change the channel.
If the surrounding environment is poor and WIFI congestion occurs, resulting in serious
image congestion, users can switch to other channels.
2) Language: There are 8 languages available, and the default language is Chinese. Note that
the "Identification parameter setting" page is available in only two languages, Chinese and
English.

2.2.2 Identification parameter setting

“Identification parameter setting” is used to set relevant detection parameters, including
detection accuracy, determination standard of results and image output format.
1) The first four options are the output format of the image after analysis and judgment.
BMP format pictures are relatively large, around 3M, which will occupy a large storage space.
Low compression JPG is generally around 0.3M, so choose low compression JPG is more
appropriate.
2) Testing Standard (coefficient): test accuracy.
White point in the optical fiber core area: White scratches or smudges. The value is inversely
proportional to the detection accuracy. Value range (>1).
Black point in the optical fiber core area: Black scratches or smudges. The value is inversely
proportional to the detection accuracy. Value range (0-1).
The following Settings are similar.
3) Testing Standard (extreme): This parameter can be used with the default value, the user
does not need to change.
4) Damage Area Standard (size): This means the size of a single stain or scratch. The units of
this value are pixels.
For example, the value of the damage area of optical fiber core is 7.0. That means the area of
a single dirt spot in the area >=7 pixels are disqualified.
5) Damage Area Standard (number)： That means the number of unqualified smudges or
scratches.
For example, the number of damage in cladding area is 2. That means the number of dirty
spots in the area <=2 are eligible.
(Note: "Damage Area Standard (size)" and "Damage Area Standard (number)" are dependent
relations, which should be set together to get the desired judgment result.)

2.3 Introduction of PC software

2.3.1 Install PC software
This software must be installed on Windows 7 or above.
1) Double-click the “setup” icon and select “next”.

2) Select the installation path. It is recommended to use the default path. If the installation is
on the C disk, some problems about insufficient permissions may occur.

3) Confirm the installation.

4) Installation complete.

5) A shortcut will appear on the desktop.

2.3.2 Steps to use PC software

1) Turn the "WIFI/USB" switching switch to the "OFF" and connect the device to the

computer with the equipped USB cable.
2) Double click on the shortcut.
3) The main interface of the software is as shown as below.

open camera: Turn on the camera you have selected.

close camera: Turn off the selected camera.
image analysis: The image is analyzed and processed.
display switching: You can switch between the original image and the processed image.
choose camera: Select the camera you want.
parameter setting: Set relevant parameters for image analysis and judgment (please refer to
section 2.2).
result: List all the results of the analysis of the images is given.
Close: Close the software.
4) Click "camera select" and the dialog box shown below will appear.

Choose a camera. If it's a laptop, choose a camera no. 2. If it's a PC desktop, it usually
chooses camera no. 1. Select and click “ok”.
5) Click "open camera", as shown below.

5) After adjusting the focal length, click "image analysis", as shown in the figure below.
