Assistance 2nd line support required? No
Required tools Two pole voltage tester (e.g. Duspol) with ability to switch a 200 mA testing current.

Purpose of the instruction and short description:

The Site Acceptance Test (SAT) is performed to determine if the system works and is safe to use. Although the system
has been tested in the factory it could fail because of damage during transportation or incorrect installation.
This instruction is intended for all versions of the T53 and T23 chargers.

This document includes the SAT procedure instructions to be done on-site. For this procedure, you will need the
remote support from the ABB contact person from your country.

The SAT consists of five steps, you are responsible for steps II and IV:
Step I – ABB contact person does the preparation and schedules an SAT date
Step II – Commissioning engineer performs the first checks, powers on the charger and informs the ABB contact
person the rating of the external fuse and that the charger is powered on.
Step III – ABB contact person configures initial settings and informs commissioning engineer to do the functional tests.
Step IV – Commissioning engineer does functional tests, signs document and sends it to the ABB contact person.
Step V – ABB contact person configures OCPP settings and fills in the final administrative data.

Specific risks and attention points:

• For safety reasons do not assume that the grid connection is connected correctly.
• Before working, always check if the system is safe by measuring if there are voltages on the grid side [E], [M] and
on the DC bus [B], as indicated on page 2.

Step II * Step I is done by your ABB contact person

Administrative checks

1) Fill in the charger serial number. This is located on the external side of the cabinet’s right door, beneath the charging
cables and has the format TX3-XX1-XXXX-XXX, for example T53-IT1-0123-012.

Serial Number: t54HV-IT1-3320-020

2) Check the rating of the external fuse. Power routing can be set according to the external fuse.
80
External fuse rating: A

Visual inspection: Pass

• During the visual inspection, the main switch [F] has to be OFF.
• Verify that there are NO voltages on the grid side [E], [M] and on the DC bus [B].

3) Check for damage on the inside and outside ✘

4) Check if the doors can be opened and closed easily ✘

5) Check if the charger cables of the CCS [J], CHAdeMO and AC outlet (if present) are mounted properly.

Use force by hand.

• Check if the boards listed below are firmly mounted and properly connected by (gently) pulling the cables/wires

6) [A] All power modules ✘

7) [C] HMI and RFID reader ✘

8) [G] CCS CPI and CHAdeMO CPI (if present) ✘

9) [I] CCB ✘

10) [N] CPI AC (if present) ✘

• Check remaining cables, wires and components

11) All wires and cables have a good connection and are undamaged. Pay special attention to the door earthing, ✘
to the cables on the AC contactor [L] and power module circuit breakers [K].

12) All components are properly mounted and without damages ✘

Grid connection checks

• First check that all RCDs are switched off: [D], [E] and [Q]
• Check the wiring from the main switch to the circuit breakers.
• It is not safe to remove the isolation covers of the main switch to measure the grid voltages.
• Switch on the main switch [F] and measure the voltages on the lower side of the RCD [E]

13) Verify that the voltages between the phases and PE and between phases and neutral are all 230VAC (±10%).

This test consists of 6 measurements.

14) Verify that the voltages between the 3 phases is 400VAC (±10%). This test consists of 3 measurements. ✘

DC charging group safety tests and system activation

• Switch on the utility group RCBO [D].

• Switch on the DC charging group RCD [E].
• To test the earth leakage detection, connect the Duspol between one phase
and protective earth (PE), then press both test buttons.

15) The utility group RCBO [D] trips when making an earth leak.

16) The DC charging group RCD [E] trips when making an earth leak.

17) Switch the RCBO [D] and the RCD [E] back on. ✘

18) Switch on all power module circuit breakers [K] (T23 has only two CBs). ✘

19) Switch on the overvoltage protection [M]. ✘

20) The screen displays “Out of order” when the door is open. ✘

21) The screen displays the emergency message when the emergency button
is pressed, and the message disappears when the button is released. ✘

AC charging group safety tests (if present) and system activation

• Switch on the AC charging RCD [Q].

• Switch on the AC charging Circuit Breaker [P] of the AC power group.
• Test the earth leakage detection by connecting the Duspol between one
phase and PE and pressing both buttons of the Duspol.

22) The AC charging RCD [Q] trips when making an earth leak.

23) Switch the AC charging RCD [Q] back on.

• Close the doors and wait for Start screen.

• Contact the ABB contact person from your country to continue with Step III. Inform that the charger is powered on,
provide the charger serial number and the external fuse rating.
