Arms (make two)
Starting with James C. Brett Top Value DK 'Mauve'. For this piece you
will be crocheting around a chain to make an oval instead of starting
with a magic ring

rnd 2: starting in the 2nd ch from hook, sc 2, inc and turn to continue
crocheting around the other side of the chain, sc 2 (6 sts)

rnd 6: sc 2, inc 2, sc 1, dec 2 (9 sts)

rnd 7: dec, sc 1, inc 2, sc 1, dec 2. This rnd uses 10 sts instead of 9 so

you will find yourself overlapping into the next rnd, but don't worry!
That's correct! (9 sts)

Fasten off, leaving a long end for sewing. Lightly stuff the arms

Tail (make one)
Using Hayfield Bonus DK 'Auburn'. I have split the pattern here into
multiple lines for easier readability, but the whole tail is worked in
just 1 rnd, all into your magic ring.

rnd 1: in a magic ring, ch 9, and starting in the 2nd ch from hook, sc

5, sl st 3, then sl st back into the magic ring
ch 11, and starting from the 2nd ch from hook, sc 7, sl st 3, then sl st
back into the magic ring
*ch 13, and starting from the 2nd ch from hook, sc 9, sl st 3, then sl
st back into the magic ring.* rep * 2 times
ch 11, and starting from the 2nd ch from hook, sc 7, sl st 3, then sl st
back into the magic ring
ch 9, and starting in the 2nd ch from hook, sc 5, sl st 3, then sl st
back into the magic ring (66 sts)

Fasten off, leaving a very long end for sewing. You should have
something like the first picture below when you're done. Essentially you
should have followed the first 3 ch patterns, and then repeated the
same pattern but in reverse to get your 6 vulpix tails!

To finish off the tail, roll each of the 6 rectangles you made and sew
them into place. You can also use glue if you’d prefer! Then make a few
stitches horizontally across the top of the tail to bring everything
together.

What you should have After rolling the After finishing off with a
after fastening off rectangles and sewing few horizontal stitches

Optional - Triangle Ear Piece (make two)
Using James C. Brett Top Value DK 'Mauve'. This piece is made
in rows, so make sure to ch 1 and turn at the end of each row

row 1: sc 1 in magic ring (1 st)

row 2: inc (2 sts)

row 3: sc 2 (2 sts)

row 4: inc 2 (4 sts)

Fasten off, leaving a long end for sewing. If you are using this
optional triangle ear piece, you can sew them to the front of the
ears now! They should be positioned with the tip of the triangle
in line with the bottom of rnd 2 of the ear, and the bottom triangle
edge aligned with the bottom of rnd 6 of the ear.

Page 7 Tiny Clove

Assembly:
Sew the ears onto the top of the head, on rnds 3-7, about 12 sts apart.

Sew the fringe to the front of the head, between rnds 1-6. Then roll up the
head rolls and pin these to the head, sewing them on to the top of your head
and top edge of the fringe, on rnds 1-3. I'll put a few stitches throughout the
whole roll to make sure that it doesn't come undone as I do this. If you're
finding it challenging to do both at once, you can also roll them up and sew to
secure before attaching them to the body.

Attach the body to the bottom of the head. Then sew the arms onto either side
of the body, on rnds 8-10. You should be able to count about 5-6 stitches
between them on the front of the body.

Page 8 Tiny Clove

Sew your legs onto the body, on rnds 4-7, about 3 stitches apart.

Sew the tail to the back of the body on rnds 3-4.

Page 9 Tiny Clove

To add your details you can use any method you like including needle felting,
embroidery or cutting felt pieces. My eyes are about 7mm big, and are
positioned on rnds 8-9, 4 stitches apart. My mouth is in the middle of rnd 9
and there is roughly 1 stitch between each side of the mouth and the start of
the eyes. You can needle felt or embroider the inner triangle to Vulpix's ear
after attaching, or use the optional crocheted piece as shown above, and then
sew your ear fronts directly in front of your inner ear on rnds 5-7. The large
paw pad measures about 10mm and the three small toe beans are 4mm in
width and 6mm in height. Feel free to use the guides below!
