OVERSUBSCRIPTION RATIO
• In most datacenters, including cloud provider, the Leaf switches are oversubscribed with the
oversubscription ratio varying between 2:1 to 4:1 depending upon the application requirements.

• Typically, a 3:1 oversubscription should satisfy most use case.

• For some specific use case such as High-Performance Computing (HPC) and for storage fabric there may
be an ask for close to 1:1 oversubscription due to the high bandwidth requirement

• Ref Case:
• APAC: (48x10: 2x100)
• Some Mega DC in China: Oversub ratio 3:2 at leaf layer and 1:1/2:1 at spine/super spine layers.
