Your child is going on a three day school trip to another country.

The head teacher

wants to find parents to go with the group and you would like to go.
Write a letter to the head teacher. In your letter:
Say why you would like to go on the trip
Suggest what you could do to help during the trip
Ask other questions about the trip

Dear Sir or Madman,

I am Sasha Mei’s mother, and I am writing this letter to tell you that I would like to go
with the group and confirm some problems in advance.

Since my daughter has some healthy problems that she has to take medicine in
specific times. I am worried whether she could remember to do that and I think I will
be relieved if I attend the trip with her. Moreover, I am a doctor in hospital and I have
professional knowledge of medication and treatment. I think I could check children’s
health condition and provide some emergent treatment if necessary during this
three-day trip.

I have already seen the trip schedule, but there are two things I would like to realize
more. Firstly, I saw there will be a water activity in the second day, and I am
wondering what clothes or equipment we should bring for this activity. Secondly, if it
is rainy in these three days, which activities will be cancelled, and what else
alternative activities will be. I am looking forward to your reply.

Yours sincerely,
Sasha’s mom, Anna
The world has many town and cities constructed in previous centuries that were
more suitable and livable for people in those times than they are now.
What problems will this cause?
What can be done to solve these problems?

Most towns and cities in the world have been constructed hundreds years ago and
they are not as comfortable and suitable for modern live as before. This situation has
caused some problems such as lack of parking spaces and house safety which could
be solved by the government.

Due to the change of people’s live style, people nowadays like to drive cars in the
cities and towns, and they need parking lots to park their cars. However, those
developed cities in centuries ago were not designed to reserve those spaces for cars,
as a direct consequence, people park their cars in front of buildings illegally and risk
other cars’ and pedestrians’ safety. To solve this problem, the government should
encourage people to use public transportation system instead of their private cars by
charging heavy taxes or providing tickets compensation.

Secondly, old architecture is another serious issue in many old cities. Old buildings
were constructed of wood or bricks which are not as strong as new architecture
materials such as concrete and steel rebar, and were too old to provide a safe
environment for people. This problems could only be solved by government who has
budget to rebuild and redesign several buildings. The government should be positive
to promote the redevelopment of those old towns and cities, including rebuilding
houses, and encourage people to join these plans.

In conclusion, since many cities and towns have developed few centuries ago, they
are not suitable in modern world in design and safety aspects. I believe that the
governments should take responsibility of solving these problems by policies.
