States is suspicious of the federal government. The nation was born in the 1970s after the freeing of 13
colonies that were seen as unjust and oppressive. The claim is that owning guns will protect citizens
from such experiences as the government does not have the right to deny people the right to own a
gun. Additionally, it is easy for an armed citizen to prevent oppression from external powers in case the
incidences of colonial times repeat themselves.

from the research, there has been an increase in mass shootings and murder cases due to access to
guns. The best solution in this case would be to restrict gun control so as to protect society from more
harm. Having restrictions on gun ownership would ensure that only those who are licensed TO own a
gun can access it and only under clear circumstances. Generally, guns are not good according to the
practical view because they harm and kill people.

 Gun ownership should be banned

 The government should put in place restriction laws on gun ownership
 Allowing people to own guns puts more people in danger

I believe that allowing people to own guns and not putting control on gun ownership puts the lives of
many people in danger. Allowing people to keep guns at home would increase the number of murder
cases at home as people would kill each other for small mistakes at the end of an argument.
Additionally, giving access to guns makes it easy for robbers and thieves as they can easily access other
people ‘s homes and businesses by threatening someone using a gun. Although cases of robberies still
exist, giving them access will only worsen the situation. The government should, therefore, pass laws
abolishing gun ownership and only allow licenses in rare cases.

 In summary, gun ownership is one of the controversial topics that leads to a lot of questions.
Those in support of gun ownership claim that gun ownership is a tradition in the United States, a
form of protection from tyranny, a constitutional right, and also makes society a safe place.
Those against gun ownership claim that there is an increase in Murder cases and mass shootings
in the United States, and the Second Amendment is interpreted wrongly. The gun control issue
relates to utilitarianism, which advocates for what is good for society.
