EARTH DAY CELEBRATION

APRIL 22, 2024

The 22nd day of April is celebrated as Earth Day in order to demonstrate support for
environmental protection. The Department of Education (DepEd), as a forerunner in
Education, strongly supports this annual gathering. Thus, a synchronized activity for Surigao
del Sur Division will be conducted regarding Earth Day celebration.

Tagasaka Elementary School joined the celebration through clean-up drive, waste
segregation and tree planting. Monday morning, during the flag ceremony, everyone was
eager to participate in the said activity.

Tagasaka Elementary School were involved in cleaning the surroundings, waste segregation
was applied in disposal of classroom and school wastes. The highlight of the celebration was
the tree planting activity as it was spearheaded by the teaching and non-teaching personnel.
Also, the pupils, parents, pre-service teachers and volunteers were involved in the activity.

In this way, we were able to inculcate to the pupils the importance of cleanliness and waste
segregation and to make everyone in attendance realized the significance of planting trees
for the betterment of our planet.
