SUBJECT AND OBJECT PRONOUN

 WHAT IS PRONOUN?
Pronoun adalah kata ganti yang digunakan untuk menggantikan subjek maupun
objek yang sedang dibahas. Di dalam bahasa Indonesia, kata “dia, kamu, kita,
mereka” merupakan bentuk daripada Pronoun (kata ganti).
Dalam bahasa Inggris, dikenal istilah Subject Pronoun dan Object Pronoun.

KENAPA KITA PERLU BELAJAR PRONOUN?


Agar kita bisa berkomunikasi dengan cara yang lebih sederhana dan ucapan yang
kita lontarkan menjadi lebih mudah dipahami, tanpa harus terus terusan menyebut
nama daripada subjek ataupun objek yang sedang dibicarakan.
Contoh:
Novi is a girl. Novi has big eyes and pointed nose. Novi is beautiful. (KALAU
TANPA PRONOUN, KITA HARUS TERUS-TERUSAN SEBUT NAMANYA,
DAN ITU TIDAK TERLALU BAGUS).

Tapi, dengan pronoun maka kata-kata atau kalimat yang kita buat menjadi
lebih sederhana dan lebih tertata:
Novi is a girl. She has big eyes and pointed nose. She is beautiful.

 Subject Pronoun : yang menjadi pokok pembicaraan. Biasanya terletak di awal


kalimat.
Contoh: I eat chicken. (Kata I merupakan subjek dari kalimat tersebut).
 Object Pronoun: yang menjadi target, biasanya sering ada di belakang kalimat
atau kadang ada di tengah.
Contoh: Ando threws ball to me. (Kata me merupakan objek atau target dalam
kalimat tersebut).

IT IT Suatu benda,
bangunan atau
binatang.
Notes:
Jika bendanya cuman satu, subject dan object pronounnya pakai “it”.
Example:
The cat eats chicken. It eats a lot.
Tapi, kalau bendanya lebih dari satu, bisa pakai they (subject pronoun) dan
them (object pronoun).

Answer: Yes, I know him. / No, I don’t know him.
2. Who is Bintang?
Answer: He is my friend.
3. Do you love your parents?
Answer: Yes, I love them.
4. What is between me and you?
Answer: us.
5. Where are I and you now?
Answer:We are in Bintang’s house.
6. Where is Novi?
Answer: She is in toilet.
7. Where are Novi and Yasa?
Answer: They are in the kitchen.
8. What is this?
Answer: It is a bag.

CHANGE THE UNDERLINED WORDS WITH PROPER SUBJECT


AND OBJECT PRONOUN
1. Bintang is a handsome guy. Bintang is so shy, but sometimes he can be

brave when someone wants to hit Bintang.

2. Novi is kind, but Novi is a moody person. Novi can get mad easily when

somebody try to disturb Novi.

3. Yasa and Bintang are best friends. Yasa and Bintang often fight. People

called Yasa and Bintang as Tom and Jerry.

4. To watch a movie, you need a ticket. You can but the ticket in the locket.

5. I might be a loser, but I can be a monster when someone talks shit about I.
