Narrative Report on Development and Pilot-Testing of Test Questionnaires

Introduction
The purpose of this report is to document the process of developing and pilot-testing a
set of test questionnaires. These questionnaires are designed to assess the knowledge
and skills of second year BTLED-HE students in agri-fisheries.

Background Information
The development of the test questionnaires is a project given to us by our instructor as
part of our Assessment in Learning course.Recent feedback from our instructor
highlighted the need for more effective and comprehensive test questions that
accurately measure student understanding and performance by incorporating questions
that fall under Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy standards.

Pilot-Testing the Questionnaires

Date and Time:May 3 - May 6, 2024

Location: CITTE department
Participants: 30 students of BTLED-HE 2ND YEAR
Selection of Pilot Group: A diverse group of students was selected to ensure a
representative sample.

Pilot-Testing Phase
Administration of Test: Tests were administered under standardized conditions. We fully
insured their comfort and the timeliness of their exam experience.
Challenges: Managing time constraints due to the students hectic schedule and
ensuring that all students completed the test within the allotted time.

Analysis and Discussion

Findings: The pilot tests indicated that while most questions performed well, a few were
too difficult.
Data Collection: Student responses were collected and analyzed for reliability, validity
and interpretation.

Conclusion
The development and pilot-testing of the test questionnaires were essential steps in
creating reliable and valid assessment tools. The process highlighted the importance of
thorough review and iterative improvement.

Future Recommendations
Conduct additional pilot tests with larger and more diverse student groups to further
validate the questionnaires.
