AIM & OBJECTIVE:

 The main objective of my project is to design an effective structure in accordance with the
design specifications using BIM.
 This study aims to clarify how BIM method can be advantageous in project management and
how information can be collected to establish BIM-based scheduling and facility
management.
 To compare the conventional building with green buildings.
 To propose the green building for future establishments.

PROBLEM STATEMENT:

 Traditional building is a conventional approach to creating structures that mainly focus on the
functional and aesthetic requirements of the client and the market.
 Traditional building involves using standard materials, methods, and practices that are widely
available, familiar, and cost-effective.
 Traditional building may not pay much attention to the environmental impact, resource
consumption, or occupant health and comfort of the building.
 Traditional building also tends to have a shorter life span and generate more waste and
emissions than green building.

ABSTRACT:

 Although a large number of studies on Building Information Modelling (BIM) have been
conducted in the past decade, a lack of consensus remains among researchers and
practitioners regarding the applications of BIM for the development of green buildings, the
activity of making buildings in a way that protects the natural environment. As the usefulness
of BIM has been widely recognized in the building and construction industry, there is an
urgent need to establish an up-to-date synthesis between BIM and green buildings.

 After an in-depth review of hundreds of journal articles, this study provides the applications
of BIM in supporting the design, construction, operation, and retrofitting processes of green
buildings and the applications of BIM in supporting green building assessments.

 From the study, it was concluded that the sustainability can minimize the harmful impact of
the conventional buildings on environment, economy and people in using green materials,
technologies. “Sustainable” or “green” buildings use key resources like energy, water, and
materials more efficiently than conventional (non-sustainable) buildings.

 Furthermore, sustainable buildings increase natural light, incorporate high-performance

systems, rainwater system, and improve air flow for occupants. Sustainable building has
many obvious benefits to builders, buyers, and others, but these benefits cannot be achieved
without applying proper a sustainable (green) standard like LEED, which is a proper rating
system to assist designers and builders in understanding and implementing sustainability in
construction industry
