INTRODUCTION

A rule is an accepted principle or instruction that states the way things are or should be
done, and tells you what you are allowed or are not allowed to do and laws are the system
of rules which a particular country or community recognizes as regulating the actions of its
members and which it may enforce by the imposition of penalties. Rules are found
everywhere in school, at work and even at home. Some rules that can be found in schools
are: Keep your class room clean, keep your hands to yourself, Respect and listen to your
classmates, Be Kind, be prepared for class, no weapons allowed on campus, raise your hand
to speak, Show respect to teachers and no running.
Examples of some rules found in the workplace are: Follow Company Policies and
Procedures, Maintain Professionalism in the Workplace, Respect Colleagues and Superiors,
Communicate Effectively, Take Initiative and Be Responsible and Don't Violate
Confidentiality.
Examples of rules at home are: Treat People and Property with Respect, Knock on Closed
Doors Before Entering, Pick up After Yourself, Electronics Curfew, Make Amends When You
Hurt Someone and Tell the Truth.

limitations
Critics of a strictly formal conception of the rule of law argue that too much attention to
legal process generates significant vices of its own in the form of exaggerated legalism and
neglect of the political or real-world dimensions of legal conflict.
An Ideal legal system keeps on changing according to the changing needs of the people.
But because of the rigidity of law, it is unable to keep pace with the fast-changing society.
There is always a gap between the advancement of society and the legal system prevailing
in it. The lack of flexibility in law results in hardship and injustice to the people.

STRENGTH

Ensures Freedom
The rule of law is a foundational principle of any society or country. This basic principle
ensures that individuals have the freedom to pursue their dreams and aspirations while also
being able to access justice when necessary.
The rule of law is essential for any society or country, as it provides a framework that
supports economic and social development. One of the main benefits of the rule of law is
that it can reduce poverty in society by promoting order, stability, and justice.
This allows businesses to thrive and grow, thereby increasing employment opportunities
and leading to greater spending power among individuals.

ACTION
HOW LAWS ARE MADE: Laws start in Congress. When someone in the House of
Representatives or the Senate wants to make a law, they start by writing a bill. A bill is like
an early version, or a draft, of the proposed law.
Each Congress lasts about two years. During that time, Senators and Representatives may
introduce thousands of bills. Yet only some of those bills will eventually become laws.
The bill has to be voted on by both houses of Congress:
The House of Representatives and the Senate. If they both vote for the bill to become a law,
the bill is sent to the President of the United States. He or she can choose whether or not to
sign the bill. If the President signs the bill, it becomes a law. If the President decides not to
sign the bill into law, it is called a veto and the bill is sent back to Congress.
Conclusion
In conclusion rules and laws are commands which must be followed by everyone
worldwide. Following rules and laws shows respect towards our peers, mates and elders in
the society.
