informative speech based on a specific topic of interest keeping in mind
the proper and effective use of parallel structures and cohesive devices
and appropriate prosodic features, stance, and behavior.
C. Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELC) Read and understand the short story read
(if available write the indicated MELC) Identify some vocabulary words given in the selection.
Answer some questions related to the selection read.

reading selection.

B. Development III. While Reading


Silent reading of the story given to them,explaining to them that they
are supposed to pick out also unfamiliar words given in the story for our
discussion.
Be sure that they focus on the reading selection for them to comprehend
it.
After 10 minutes,retrieval of reading materials followed.

Discussion of the reading selection
Identify the vocabulary words given in the selection,then give the
meaning through context.
A. Formulate also a simple sentence using some vocabulary words.
B. Where did the story of Philippine islands come from?
C. Share the lessons you learned from the selection.
