PREFACE
Community immersion is an essential strategy in community organizing work. It involves
gaining a better understanding of the various concerns, processes, dynamics, and lifestyles within
the community through exposure and engagement in different activities. This provides an
opportunity for individuals to reflect on their assumptions and attitudes, and gain knowledge about
cultural diversity. Through active engagement with community members, learning about their
concerns and aspirations, and working together on meaningful projects, students develop a deeper
awareness of societal issues and a sense of social responsibility.
This portfolio records the documents during the National Service Training Program's
(NSTP) community immersion. It showcases the participants' diverse experiences, growth as
individuals, and group achievements as they gave of their time, expertise, and effort to benefit the
community they served. The following sections provide an assortment of reflections, narratives,
and project outputs that represent the essence of the community immersion experience. Each
section provides an overview of the varied range of activities carried out. The portfolio highlights
the potential of collaborative efforts and the long-term change that can be achieved when people
work together for a common goal.
We aspire for this portfolio to not only document the NSTP community immersion but also
to inspire future generations of students. As you explore its pages, we invite you to reflect on the
significant impact that community engagement can have on personal growth, cultural
understanding, and societal improvement. Let this collection of experiences and accomplishments
encourage you to embrace the spirit of service and actively work towards the betterment of your
own communities.
The National Service Training Program gave us an incredible opportunity to learn, grow,
and make a difference. Their commitment to developing socially responsible people and
encouraging community engagement has had a tremendous impact on our lives and ingrained in
us a lifelong commitment to service. May this portfolio inspire, spark, and empower those who start
on a journey of community immersion, for it is only through such collaborative efforts that we can
build a more compassionate, equitable, and prosperous society.

ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
GENERAL REFLECTION
This NSTP Immersion Program made me realize that we are capable of helping people
and it is a way of our school in inspiring us to be functional citizens of our country. The happy faces
of the students every time we teach them made me realize that I was right in choosing my course.
It gives me inspiration in continuing this course and hoping to see a lot of similar happy faces in the
students that I will teach in the future. It serves as a reminder that we should always help and give
back to our community as much as we can so that we can have a better community and a brighter
country. Our Immersion may be small and simple but I know it made a really big impact and joy to
the community of Dungan Lahek.
ARGUELLES, MICHELLE M.
My generalization from the immersion highlights the unity and connection within the
community to support one another. The participation of everyone in the upcoming activities
demonstrated a collective effort and the gratification that comes from contributing to the
enhancement of shared spaces. The immersion was challenging and tiring, it provided a rich and
valuable experience to all my Classmates in NSTP. The culmination day was filled with happiness
and celebration, marking a sense of closure and accomplishment for everyone involved. This
experience underscored the importance of community, collaboration, and the joy of shared
achievements.
Being part of this community immersion is giving me a reason to try hard in everything I
can. This NSTP community engagement gives me some ideas on how to positively impact others'
lives and improve my own skills. It all started on March 2, 2024. I remember how I managed to
survey one of the residents in Sitio Dungan Lahek. He was an aged man who, despite his situation,
continued to strive to improve his everyday circumstances. Through surveying the residents, we
came up with the idea of implementing programs for them. We were assigned to different areas
such as civic awareness, literacy, and beautification to implement what we had discussed. As part
of civic awareness, we provided a seminar for the residents about disasters and how they can
avoid them. In literacy, they organized activities like reading and coloring storybooks, adding new
Our community immersion has become the way to develop our bond stronger as we gather
together. By helping each other to become more close with each other even though we have some
small understanding but through this immersion we try to solve it immediately as we gather
together. This journey strengthens the bond as we become partners with the growth of each other.
We learned to try new things as we embrace the unexpected challenges we may encounter
throughout this immersion. We also engaged with different kinds of kids that awe us with their
talents even though not all of them are cooperating but it was a blast. We give them new kinds of
learning that can be used in the future. Our seminar also brought light and new learnings to the
community as they learned how to handle the unexpected situations that may happen. On our
culmination day I'm so proud of my classmates who work hard till the end, I may not participate well
during our culmination due to some issues but I'm glad how my classmates handle everything. I
can totally see the joy the plastered on the children's faces and how happy they were on the things
and food we have prepared.
My experience in the community that is assigned to us, Sitio Dungan Lahek, Brgy.
Saravia, has been truly eye-opening. Through our community immersion, I have come to realize
the significance of waste segregation in managing waste effectively. It is not only a practical
approach but also contributes to the conservation of resources and the beautification of the
environment. The opportunity to participate in beautification activities has allowed me to witness
firsthand the positive impact of our efforts on the community. These experiences have emphasized
the importance of community engagement and the role each individual plays in creating a
sustainable and clean environment.
Working in a particular community to learn about its culture, customs, and values are
referred to as Community Immersion. This kind of activity is crucial to the community’s
development, especially when it aims to solve diverse socioeconomic challenges. We, the students
of NSTP CN 9208, get to experience the diversity of the community that we are immersed in, and
learn about its cultural norms, practices, and beliefs. This helps us develop cultural awareness and
sensitivity, which is an important skill in today's globalized world. Being in a community immersion
is a great challenge because you need to compromise with the matters that the community people
are used to. You need to show that everything is fine and smoothly moving. Our community
immersion experience helped us a lot as an Education student, and also as a prospective teacher
in our pre-service training. It exposed as to the field wherein we strengthen and enhance our skills
that we need in order to become an effective educator later on. Our Community Immersion in Sitio
Dungan Lahik, Brgy. Saravia, Koronadal City was successful and I think we did the best that we
could. Our hard work and diligence paid off because I saw how happy the people are and very
thankful about what we provided for them. At the end of the day, our experience is tiring yet fun!
This really was a worthwhile learning experience.
Reflecting on our community engagements and immersive experiences, each event has
been a profound journey of growth and impact. From uncovering unmet needs on March 2, 2024,
to embracing unexpected challenges on March 16, 2024, and making a difference through
education and compassion on April 6, 2024, every moment taught me resilience and the power of
community. The interactions on April 20, 2024, reiterated the importance of giving back and the
transformative impact of education. May 4, 2024, was a day of creativity and joy as we engaged
with children through art, games, and nourishing food, setting the stage for the upcoming
culmination event. Finally, the culmination event on May 11, 2024, symbolized unity, gratitude, and
appreciation for the community's support, leaving a lasting impression of collective efforts for a
better community.
During our community engagement I've learned many things being kind and to help with
others made you special from them. During the first day of our visit we just conduct the survey
every household the second day selected students only will able to visit at the place in the 3rd day
of our visit we accomplish the task that is assign to us cleaning, reading stories for the children,
and giving them some snacks. On the 4th visit I wasn't able to attend because I was taking care of
my mother at the hospital the 5th day of our visit we just made the children color the coloring book
and have a little dance with them to select which will perform at the culmination. And on the 6th day
of our visit at sitio Dungan Lahik we give prices to those children who win the parlor games they
also perform giving them some gifts and certificates. During that day I was happy to see the smiles
of you g children I can clearly see that even with the small gifts it will appreciated by the kids
seeing them happy made my heart warm .during our journey at Sitio Dungan Lahik has been a
transformative experience filled with moments of laughter, learning, and connection. Through my
interactions with the children I may have not only made a positive impact on their .As we bid
farewell to this community we carry with us cherished memories and a renewed sense of purpose
to continue making a difference wherever I go.
PALMA, JEFPEE N.
My experience in Sitio Dungan Lahek, where i interacted with an aged resident and
initiated programs for the community, reflects a deep sense of empathy and commitment to
service. The initiatives we led, including civic awareness seminars, literacy activities, and
beautification projects, demonstrate a comprehensive approach to community development. The
joy and innocence I've witnessed in the smiles of the residents, especially the children, are a
testament to the success and impact of our efforts.
Our community immersion at Dungan Lahek has been an experience that has truly
broadened our perspectives and deepened our understanding of the issues facing of this
community. Dungan Lahek is a small, mountain community. During our time in Dungan Lahek, we
had the opportunity to interact with the people. We were warmly welcomed into their Sitio where
we saw children's genuine smiles with us. Our immersion in Dungan Lahek has been a humbling
experience that has reminded us of the importance of compassion and solidarity. Our immersion
may be lacking in time but one thing I know for sure is that we contribute and help the people living
there with our heart.
