3. COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
This course is designed to help you fully understand all the theories, methods and
materials of Operations Management. You and your team will have the opportunity to “adopt”
a factory or production facility which is real, and will be using the internet to research this
company. IN the end you and your team will be able to diagnose and make recommendations to
“fix the factory” including process, measurement and a financial rationale.

5. COURSE GOALS/OBJECTIVES
The course is designed based on business principles and theories and how to USE and APPLY
these ideas to a real factory, which you will be analyzing and making recommendations to fix
and or improve with financial rationale, and ROI.

9. COURSE REQUIREMENTS AND EXPECTATION


9.1 Class Attendance
- Students are responsible for attending all classes. In case of absence due to force majeure
reasons, sufficient and reasonable proofs must be provided.
- Students who are absent for more than 3 sessions without reasonable proofs are
considered to have failed to complete the course.
25% of your grade will be attendance. If you choose to skip class, please don’t cry about
your grade later.
9.2 In-class Behavior
- All acts that affect the teaching and learning process are strictly prohibited.
- Students who are late for class will forfeit their right to be in the classroom. Just as in
“real life” you cannot be late. So be early and learn new good habits.
- Laptops and tablets are only allowed for the learning purpose (recording lectures,
calculating and serving lectures and exercises), absolutely not allowed for anything else.
