THE CHRISTIAN FAMILY


I. INTRODUCTION

Marriage and family are counted among the most precious of human possessions. Families are the basic units of
human society. “ The well-being of the individual person, and of both human and Christian society, is closely bound up
with healthy state of Conjugal and Family life. (GS 47)

II. GOD’S PLAN FOR FAMILIES

1. The permanency of marriage. (Mat. 19:5-6)


2. The apostolate of married persons and of families has a special importance for both the Church and civic
society. (A.A.)
3. To assert with vigor the right and duty of parents to give their children a Christian upbringing. (A.A.)
4. Christian couples are for each other, for their children, cooperators of grace and witnesses of their faith. (A.A.)
5. “They receive a share in the divine life and is directed and enriched by the redemptive power of Christ and the
salvific action of the Church.” (GS 48)

III. OUR RESPONSE

1. Make a decision that in your family, you want God’s plan to succeed.
2. Take time and give attention to the task of building a strong Christian family.
3. Pray together as a family.
