1. INTRODUCTION
1.1. Asset Description
The Gbaran Integrated Oil and Gas node, situated in the seasonal fresh-water swamp covers an
area approximately 3,000 km2 spread across Bayelsa, Rivers and Imo states in the eastern part of
the Niger Delta. It is a major oil and gas production hub in SPDC, covering the following fields –
Gbaran, Etelebou, Kolo Creek, Adibawa, Adibawa NE, Ahia, Abasere, Enwhe, Mini-Nta, Obele
and Rumuekpe – in Oil Mining Leases (OMLs) 16, 17, 21, 22, 27 and 28. The geographic centre
of the Gbaran/ node is located at Gbaran, 100 km NW of Port Harcourt and 40 km NE of
Yenagoa.
The Gbaran Central Processing Facility (CPF) came on stream in year 2010 with a gas production
capacity of 1.0Bscfd and liquid production capacity of 120 Mbpd. There are remote field
manifold locations at Zarama, Kolocreek, Gbaran, Koroama and Epu for NAG well manifolds.
The Gbaran CPF gas production capacity was debottlenecked to 1.2Bscfd in 2013 and then
1.25Bscfd in 2017. Current project scope also includes capacity upgrade of the CPF to ca
1.4Bscfd.
Uzu is a greenfield, but in close proximity to Zarama producing field and 15km NE of Gbaran
CPF. Uzu field was discussed in 1971 and located in OML 28. Uzu appraisal well was drilled
from Zarama location (tagged ZARA015 well) thereby providing opportunity to utilize existing
facilities and RoWs in Zarama area.
The project scope includes infill drilling involving 5wells with flowlines and a bulkline from the
Uzu field as well as facility upgrade at the Gbaran Central Processing Facility involving
installation of a 200MMscfd TEG dehydration train and the ancillary units, including Brownfield
tie-ins
New wells to be drilled as part of this development will be from two existing well locations;
Zarama 15 and Zarama 08-11 locations. Three NAG wells and one existing NAG well to be
completed will be clustered at Zarama 15 location, while 1NAG well and 1Oil well will be drilled
from the Zarama 08-11 location. Extension of Zarama 15 location will be required to
accommodate siting of a new well cellar (4 slots with provision for relief well) and a manifold
location, while free slots at Zarama 08-11 location will be used for the 1 NAG and 1 Oil well
drilling. Four NAG wells will be hooked up to the new Uzu-1 manifold (adjacent to Zarama 15
well location) via 8” x 0.5km 1500# NAG DSS flow lines and bulk flowed to a new Uzu-2
manifold at the Zarama NAG manifold location via new 16” x 8km 1500# CS bulkline. The new
NAG well at Zarama 08-11 location will be hooked up to the new Uzu-2 manifold via new 8” x
0.5km 1500# DSS flowline. The Uzu fluids will be evacuated via the existing 20-inch
Zaramabulkline to the Koroama Slug catcher at Gbaran CPF. A connection will be provided from
the new Uzu-2 manifold (at Zarama NAG manifold location) to the existing Zaramabulkline. The
existing Zarama NAG wells will be evacuated to the CPF via a new 16” x 10km CS bulkline
connected to the Zarama slug catcher via the LP (compression) manifold.
One oil well will also be drilled, completed and a new 6” x 1km 1500# CS Oil pipeline will be
tied in to existing 16” x 17.5km Zarama Oil bulkline en-route Gbaran CPF via a barred tee.
The CPF upgrade scope involves installation of a 200MMscfd TEG dehydration gas processing
train to existing Gbaran CPF in order to increase overall plant capacity to ca. 1.4Bscfd
1.3. Purpose
The purpose of this document is to specify the minimum requirements of cables (fibre and
copper) for Telecommunication System to be installed for the Gbaran Phase 3B – Uzu Project.
Telecommunication Cabling System provides the wiring infrastructure facilities inside the Uzu
project site. The Cabling System includes Fiber Optic Cabling (FOC) and Copper Cabling
installations
FOC Network is able to provide inter-building LAN connectivity and CCTV cameras connection
to the central equipment.
Copper Cabling Network is able to provide both inter and intra-building connection of the various
equipment of LAN & Telephone, PAGA, ACS and Power Supply Systems.
Latest editions of all International Codes and Standards shall be applicable in accordance with the
issue date of the documents to which they apply with reference to the date that the contract is
signed. In case of conflict, the regulations, codes and standards listed shall be applied in the
following priority order:
a) Government Legislation
b) Purchase order and subsequent change orders
c) Project Specification (PEFs, Project drawings, Data Sheets, Specification)
d) Shell DEPs and Standards
e) Industry Standards
1.6.1. General
The environmental data listed below give an overview of the conditions prevalent in the Assa
North node. Further surveys are required during the execution phase to confirm the available
information. The information below forms the environmental basis of the design. The Vendor
shall give details of any design or operational limitations due to the climatic site conditions.
1.6.3. Rainfall
Heavy rainfall can be expected in the wet season during months of April through October.
Average annual rainfall: 3800 mm
Mean maximum hourly rainfall: 100 mm
Max daily rainfall: 180 mm
1.6.7. Lightning
Very frequent in the rainy season
1.6.8. Dust
During November / December of every year in the Harrmatan season, the atmosphere is laden
with extremely fine dust (particle size of 5 microns or less), which can penetrate equipment, block
air filters, etc.
All telecom equipment for installation in hazardous areas shall be certified for use in the
particular classified area, shall have the correct temperature classification and equipment group
and shall be suitable for the particular environmental conditions, all as described in IEC 60079
